  4. Glad it worked out okay for you.
  5. Thanks for the invite. I had so much fun on our recent Texas trip, I surely will return.
  6. Hello: Welcome to the VR site. Nice looking ride!!
  7. Dan: So sorry to learn of your loss. Your Niece sounded like a wonderful person. Prayers sent.
  8. Hello Everyone: After leaving Kreg's MD in Waller, Patrolman46 and I drove over to Austin to see Dan's daughter. Shortly after arriving she and her husband whisked us off to an outdoor event that included entertainment by "Asleep at the Wheel" great event. While we were there I noticed a Team Yamaha booth. Fairly new dealer about 4 months old. "Yamaha Fun Center" Boerne TX. The salesperson Robert was very cordial. He set us up with a few goodies. It was a pleasant experience. I only wished that we would have had time to stop and see the dealership before we left on Monday. Just thought I would make mention of it in case others are unaware of the new dealer. Sure looking forward to returning to the area to ride someday!!!!!
  9. Glad you found something you are happy with.
  10. Hello Everyone: I too saw that post asking not to advertise the other paid sites. I thought it was tacky also. I belong to a few other sites, but the vr.org site is the cream of the crop in my opinion. I have also been guilty of referring others to the vr.org site. I too just like yourselves are simply trying to help others. One can never have too much knowledge or too many friends.
  11. Nice story. Good to hear everyone is pleased.
  12. Surprised.
  13. Nice way to look at things! Arrived in Houston yesterday. Met several more VR members at Kreg's yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to more fun today.
  14. Thinking of you. I certainly know what you are going through. Lost both parents a year ago within 60 days of one another. Now a year later I am so glad they passed in their home. Your memories will keep you going.
  15. Made me laugh guys!!!!
  16. Thanks for all of the responses. Snow and lesser winds have continued throughout the day. So thankful for the moisture!!!!! It was 70 degrees last weekend. Wife's employer dismissed them at 1:00. She called at 2:00 to indicate she was home but had the pickup buried in the driveway. She is really good at doing that!!!!!!! I called the neighbor and he went over with his row crop tractor with cab and pulled my pickup out so that I can now get home. He suggested that I cut across my hay field that is more open than my drive. So nice to have good neighbors. At least I will not have to start a cold tractor when I get home. Still watching the storm. Hoping to head south after work tomorrow night if mother nature does not interfere.
  17. Thanks. Hoping this all passes before Wednesday night. Patrolman46 and I want to head for Kreg's in Texas.
  18. Hello Everyone: We have had a mild winter again this year. Little moisture. Bleak irrigation season. However we have been hit with a blizzard. 16 degrees, 5 inches of snow and 50 mph winds have shut down the region. Could get 18 inches of snow before it is all over. I feel bad for the ranchers that are calving.
  19. Hello Miles: Congrats on the new bike.
  20. Close to 70 degrees here this weekend. Rode 30 miles yesterday. Forecast is for 10-18 inches of heavy wet snow late Monday and Tuesday. Hoping to leave for Texas on Thursday!!
  21. Spent the most of this weekend converting Dan's enclosed V nose enclosed "Hot Air Balloon" trailer into a bike hauler. While doing so I had to make a run to the hardware store for more bolts. I jumped on his lowered RSTD and made an in town run. I was really impressed with how the lowered rear RSTD handled. I liked the feeling of being more flat footed. Slow speed friction zone turns were no problem. I am impressed so far.
  22. Thanks for posting. Interesting. Beautiful bike!!!
  23. Hello Kevin: Glad you found this wonderful site. I too went from a 84 model Magna to the Tour Deluxe. The RSTD fit my 30 inch inseam a bit better than the RSV. The bikes are definetly somewhat top heavy, but you can learn to handle them with practice. I was hooked on the electronic cruise control. I feel the bikes are a good value for what you get. Definetly great touring machines. This site makes owning a Yamaha so much more fun than if you were going it alone. So much helpful knowledge. Keep us posted.
  24. Nice!!!!
