  1. I threw a leg over one of the new Indian bikes today. Impressed that I could sit flat footed. Short on time so I cannot comment on much else.
  2. We live relatively close. Could not come early this year. Rode up yesterday. Arrived in Custer before heavy rain and pea size hail came. Rode to Johnson Siding for breakfast. Continued on over to Sturgis for the day. Enjoyed the ride. Hung out all day. Lots of congestion as we left. Arrived back in Custer just before dark.
  3. Hello Brian: I enjoyed reading this. Glad you are back to riding again.
  4. Thanks for the information Don.
  5. I am glad that at least a couple of members got together. We are still planning on heading up tomorrow, hoping to meet RogerII and Lorie somewhere along the way.
  6. Maybe a new game? Drop your bike. Choose a random member and fire away. Oh what fun trying to decide who sent you the $5.
  7. 4700 miles. I am jealous. Glad you are home safe.
  8. Cherish the memories of your wife's mother and make new memories with the new arrival. Congrats.
  9. Yes. I understand. Me included. I would likely have to trailer at least part way to Texas also. (Something I have never done yet) but would be willing to do so to experience the Texas hill country in mild weather. No matter where you hold the event not everyone would be able to attend anyway. Too far, too hot, too cold, wrong time etc. April would allow Texas to host the event. I realize my suggestion was not a perfect one. I was impressed with the hospitality and the weather when I was there for Kreg's MD earlier this year. I did like Brian's suggestion of Nelson B.C also. I hope as the years go on that we will be able to experience as many VR events as possible regardless of the location.
  10. A lot of good points mentioned here. Avoiding school for the kids. Too hot etc. Not going to please everyone. I would love to attend a rally in Texas, but I think March or April would be the best time? The black hills of South Dakota would be an excellent choice. Cody was a blast!! Many other spots I am sure. Hats off to everyone! Anxious to hear what is decided for next year so we can possibly plan to attend another rally?
  11. Don and Nancy. So glad you are visiting our area. I look forward to meeting you both tomorrow!!!! Hopefully tomorrow will be warmer than it was today. Custer SD got quite a bit of pea and marble size hail early this morning. Required snow plows to remove it from the highways.
  12. Hello Paul: So sorry to learn of your loss. Prayers for everyone involved.
  13. Made me laugh
  14. I started noticing an increase in out of state bikes passing through western Nebraska yesterday. Heading north to South Dakota. Makes me anxious!!! If anyone passes this way be sure to contact us. Phone number in my profile.
  15. Made me laugh Don!!!!

  17. Hello Allen: Welcome to the site. Thanks for the info. and offer for assistance. Very nice of you to offer. I always thought the FFA kids put on the breakfast at the High School? Great place to meet. Lots of parking. Good food. Lots of seating.
  18. Have fun. We hope to head up on Friday the 9th. Probably going to miss everyone. Most will be headed home as we are arriving?
  19. Welcome to the site. I too have had this happen to me. You are not alone. So much knowledge.
  20. We sure wanted to go. but life happened. Managed to get in a 4 day trip to the Wyoming mountains instead. Hopefully next year?
  21. Interesting read. Glad you are up and going again.
  22. My grandson has been riding with me since he was 5, he will be 8 in November. We also have had this problem. When he was smaller the top of the bags were often used. Now that he is bigger I keep the floor boards on edge as Brian suggested. A pad or peg clamped onto the bag guard might work well. Especially if it folds out of the way or is easily removable. the last trip we took was 225 miles with several comfort stops.
  23. Welcome to the site. My wife and I really enjoy our 05 RSTD.
