    I'm in the room with Tom, he's not not able to type just yet. He says hi and says he would love visitors. He's starting to feel better. We are waiting on the nurses to track down his personal effects so we can get the ball rolling for getting his bike and trailer. The shop Mike and I use informed me if any of us get the bike and trailer the impound fees will need to be paid to get the bike to the shop.

    I know I'm partial to the suzuki volusia intruders and the like. But they look sharp, even triked and even for me I think they balance well. And I can find them used for about $2500-$3000

    I've posted in the other thread, Tom's in good spirits despite everything. I saw him today since I live close by and can check on him. I had to get him a new phone charger, the cops gave him his phone, but left the charger on the bike. Tomorrow I'm taking my laptop again and if he's able let him post for himself, I'll get him to do it. Mostly he wants to see the Vogel pics. So anyone coming to see him if they could burn their pics to cd and have a laptop to view them with, please do so. He asked ppl visit him in the afternoon since the docs, therapists and the like keep him busy in the mornings. I won't be able to be at the hospital everyday but I don't want him to get lonely while there, can we maybe see about everyone trying to stagger the visits so not everyone visits on the weekend? Just a thought.

    I would have taken a spin on the trike had it been offered, now I got to wait 2 YEARS before that gets offered again...sheesh lol

    Cowboy, I printed off the list on stuff you made. I will give it to Tom when I see him tomorrow. Everyone else: I hope more ppl go visit him, it's lonely being in a strange city w/o friends, and he said his family can't get here to be here for him. Despite Tom's injuries, he looked really good. When I asked when he thought he was leaving he said the docs weren't giving him a timetable. My estimate however is 2 weeks. He didn't need surgery on his liver, and his spine wasn't severely injured. He said the road rash was the worst, he's uncomfortable from that, otherwise he's doing well. One of the officers on the scene said the bike didn't look like it was damaged too badly, but we'll see.

    Tom was in good spirits today. Like anyone in his situation he wants to do everything now, worried about the bike, his trailer, personals, etc. I asked him when he wanted visitors everyday, he says in the afternoons should be good. For those wanting his room # either pm me, call, or hunt me down on facebook. I tried taking my laptop to the hospital so he could look at the vogel pics and post for himself here, but the public wifi is down at the hospital. His cellphone charger was left on his bike, but he has his phone. Mike got him a new charger from Radioshack tonight, so after tonight Tom will have phone all the time. I'll keep going back to the hospital til someone runs me off. Tom also wants to see the Vogel pics, if I can't get the laptop online can someone zip the pics and email them to me?

    I made it home about an hr ago, I'll be going to see about Tom in the morning after I get hubby off to work. I'll post details from the hospital as I learn them. I dunno how much time I can devote to looking after Tom in the coming days, roomie told us as we walked in the door tonight that he's bought a house and we are all moving, so guess who gets to pack? Anyway, tomorrow's another day. Night all.

    I'm in Athens right now resting my knee, if it's not too late by the time we get to Macon we'll drop by the hospital and see what we can learn.     My father in law said the morning news in Young Harris said there was a severe accident on blood mountain either last night or this morning, on 129, sand on the road, so be aware how dangerous it is in that area near Vogel.

    I know most of you are more experienced campers than I. However I thought I would post a heads up on temps locally. I'm in Young Harris, it's up the mountain from Blairsville. Temps are hovering at 50 degrees the last 2 nights....and me without sleeping bags! My father in law is making us get a sleeping bag today. says the air mattress and blankets aren't enough.

    Our roomie is planning on joining the group (he's not a VR.org member) to hang and do the biking thing, Is there anyone who knows right now if they have a 2nd camping spot on their camp site Fri and Sat? Roomie will pay his own way. I don't want to have him show and have him feel I misled him on arrangements.
