Ha! KIC, I know you're sorta new so I won't hold it against you. StormRaven, Mike to me, bought his 1st bike last spring, the Volusia. He really wanted a 1st gen as a 1st bike but many of the guys talked into getting a smaller bike to start. After taking the MSF he went ou and bought the Volusia and loves it for the around town stuff. But he's looking forward to getting that 1st gen soon.

Now Dan, How is holding an umbrella going to keep his legs dry? Point 2. I'm just not going to ride to work with him everyday on the bike, I have things to do...like annoy y'all on the forums with my postings and responses

Actually hubby said: "Honey, you need that so you can ride with me." My question is, Does it come as a convertible too?

When the now former roommate was letting me ride pillion on his heritage, the seat was killing my tail too. Since he'd never carried passengers before so he didn't know the seat was butt numbing in a bad way. After my feedback he got a wide gel seat for the pillion. One of our friends has a electra glide (I think) I thought back when I rode last the pillion was ok, but that's me. I can't really give any opinions beyond that.

I've only been ticketed once for speeding, and even that shouldn't have stuck, but that's another story. I was driving through a series of S turns on a medium traffic road in the county here. Posted limit was 35mph, I was doing 40mph, State laws says anything up to 14 miles over the posted limit is a warning. This doofus of a deputy saw me as an easy target to ticket, he cut in front of the traffic that was behind me and nearly caused a pileup because he had been traveling westbound while I was going eastbound. When I realized he was coming after me I pulled over and politely waited for him to stop yelling at me about the near accident he caused. When it got to court the judge decided because he didn't have a clear line of sight I still had to pay court fees but nothing on my record. My CT yankee husband has said the Jersey turnpike is a revenue maker for the state, the toll booths are timed and if you arrived at the next booth under the time they say you are to arrive you get a speeding fine added at that stop.

Heck if Jeff were closer I'd send him to my ortho. He hasn't done any surgeries on me yet, but I'm expecting at some point to have both hips and my left knee done. And coming from me, that's bad, I'm only 37. LOL

I don't know how true it is, but I once asked my family doctor why I was having trouble getting appts to see her, sometimes weeks out from my needed time. She told me she had very little control over the scheduling since her office has several doctors, and I prefer to just use her there was little option. The office manager has the most control in the office of how appts get scheduled. This person is also the same person who handles the mail for the doctors, If you haven't actually mailed the letter yet I recommend sending it certified so you can find out who signed for it. Working for the postal service you know how the system there works.

Mike and I use Avast! it's free, though you do need to update the license every year, that's free too. I've had good luck with it.

I solved that problem for now. I have bluetooth headphones that I link with my phone and play the music I want. Same thing on the bike, Mike and I have bluetooth intercom and I play music when not chatting with him. I stay relaxed on the bike and make it easier on him.

I don't bother to wrap, in fact I just go to the store and pick out what I want then show it to Mike and say here's what you got me for Christmas. Works for us as we never put up the tree.

Actually an omega 3/6 supplement derived from a veggie source is better for you than fish oils. People are getting mercury poisoning from taking fish oil supplements because the industry can't filter out the mercury and other heavy metals present in seafood. There's pros and cons to each supplement and regimen. Just my 2 cents there

Getting sun only works if you aren't wearing sunblock. I'm a fair skin redhead and I stay indoors most of the day. However when I leave to go shopping or run errands I get my sun in the car. I don't wear sunblock unless I'm going to be in the sun for a prolonged amount of time. Mike and I have a joke that I'm the only person we know who gets sunburned riding in the car. One way to get Vitamin D is drink milk that is fortified with it. Don I hope you recover soon. I think I might get Mike started on a Vitamin D regimen as well, he's been complaining about feeling run down all month.

I play the lotto one in a while. As Mike and I figure, the lotto money is earmarked for education, so we figure we are contributing to the education system by buying a ticket once in a while...

Nope not snowing here, it's warm, in the 70's. Went out for a short ride around town today. Would you like to come down and enjoy the nice weather here while helping us move? I know a few good ice cream shops locally....

Amazon has the 2 DVD set but it's a region 1 set. That means only DVD players that can play north American DVD sets would be able to play it.

my reader has many different voice options where I can get a text based book read to me via a speaker or headphones, or get an audiobook. I can play mp3's on mine as well.

if you buy books through amazon you can lend a book to a friend through the kindle programs. Or do like me and make multiple copies of the book files and share them on CD and give them to her sister. all my books can be loaded on a memory card and added to my ereader.

I'll mark our calendar. Glad to see to something started.

I have one, but I don't usually live anywhere long enough to replace them. However my best friend has one in her house that's lasted over 10 yrs. Mike (my hubby) replaced the gaskets on hers last year after it started leaking suddenly, those typically last about 5 yrs. The main thing I learned was don't put pastas, rice, or anything that swells from absorbing water down the disposal. Also really hard things shouldn't go down either.

I wasn't alive in 1957, however I was able to keep my meds, both OTC and script in my purse/backpack throughout my school years. Even was able to keep my feminine products with me as well. Also was allow to keep a bag of candy in my purse in case my blood sugar dropped and I felt I was blacking out. To my parents that was making me responsible. Now I hear all those things aren't allowed by the students. And Adults in the education system and workplaces wonder why teenagers and young adults can't be trusted with responsibility? I think there's a correlation there.
