My condolences on Steve's passing yesterday. I almost took the road through Cleveland yesterday on the way home. Husband and inlaws said no. Now I know why I wanted to go that way. Know that his pain has ended even if yours has not.

If you decide to ride a bit further south into Central Georgia there's a few sights to see if you can bear the heat and humidity here. Not so many twisties as the north Georgia mountains but a lot of historical and military history here should you choose to drop in. I'll even give you a tour of some interesting places should you make the trip to my neck of the woods.

I'm not trying to be critical of the schedule either. However some of the working people might rather take 2 or 3 days off and spend the weekend enjoying most of the rally. Especially those of us who live in the south willing to brave the potential heat. I live just a few hrs away but my better half won't be willing to take unpaid leave all week. It's one of the reasons we like going to Vogel, the other is we get to visit family for a day or 2. As of right now I can't say Mike will want to go. I think I missed the dates being posted. So I will watch and see as the year progresses.

Lewis as soon as I get to the park I can give a hand. If we need someone to go pick up Steve I can do that too. The g6 is gassed up, loaded with the donations that have been sent with me. TuffTom made it as far as Valdosta before calling me to say he couldn't get here in time for dinner. He got a hotel room there and will make the drive here before we head out for Blairsville. Mike and I leave in the morning. TuffTom is going to try to make it for dinner at our house tonight before heading to his hotel room in Macon. We plan to meet him in Macon and start the journey north to Blairsville about 8am. Pray our little convoy makes it with no troubles. Mike's been having electrical troubles for about a week now. The current plan for Mike and me is to run to the hotel 1st; check in and drop off the luggage then run back to the park and register. I need surgery soon to fix the bone on bone issue I'm having with my right knee. I'm told it probably won't be a replacement, doc thinks something tore although the MRI was inconclusive. I learn Monday what my options are. I'm 39 yrs old. I'm not ready to go through joint replacement. Especially since I have a significant metal allergy. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Dad used to run shine here in Middle GA back in the day...well mostly he was a lookout as a kid then when he was older he helped make and run it. Guess that's why his WW2 enlistment form lists him as a chemical engineer...because he never made it past 7th grade....

I don't mix meds and alcohol...period....that is a huge no no. I tried the tramadol over the weekend after my knee was drained thurs. all I go was a huge migraine on Monday from my effort. Trust me when I say I don't want to be a burden to family by screwing up and doing bad things. However a half glass of a decent alcohol will give me bliss for a few hrs with no hangover. I hate being smashed and out of control. ATM I can barely walk stairs without assistance...this a big deal since the entire house is stairs.

Will there be Apple pie at Vogel....? Thus far tramadol, hydrocodone and oxycodone do nothing to ease the pain in my knees. Since I'm not operating a bike this year having a few mins of bliss before I pass out each night would be welcomed. Someone make sure I get up the stairs at the Seasons inn before giving me alcohol however lol.

Don what route are you taking? If you plan to take I-75 to Fl and need a stop in Middle GA for a refresher stop I live 10 mins off the interstate in Warner Robins, you can easily grab a hot meal, nap and shower at my house any time of day. And there should be room in the garage to hide...err park the bike PM me or call if you want make a stop.

My right knee has been bothering me for months...thought it was related to the leg swelling from the CHF. I just left the orthopedist office after getting 60cc of fluid drained and being told I'm having surgery on it once I get back from Vogel. Mileage is abt 30mpg and there's a cylinder not firing correctly. I just need a tools list and if things are needed in addition to plugs and wires so I can order them now. Mike wants to change the plugs and wires on the Venture, but thinks he needs help @ Vogel with this. I have the plugs and wires bought. Will some kind people be on hand sometime before the ride to the dragon to give us a hand? Let me know what tools we need and I will pack all the tools beforehand and inform of what I don't have. Anyone needing work done on a laptop (desktops are just too cumbersome for packing) Let me know what's wrong, whatcha need and I'll see what I can help with. If you are shopping for a new computer feel free to ask me for help, I need the challenge lol. Give me warning if you need parts replaced on the laptops so I can bring the tools for that job. Mike and I have a 4 hr drive/ride (I'm taking the car too) from our house and we know the way well. Mike's parents live a few mins from Blairsville. TuffTom is also welcome to convoy up with us. We plan to leave the house no later than 8am wed morning. If all goes well we plan to get Vogel no later than 1:30pm. That will gives us time to check in places and hangout. Let me know.
