Venturous (Gary Mace) brand new Goldwing
GAWildKat replied to Prairiehammer's topic in Watering Hole
Damnit! So sorry Gary! -
I spent the morning sipping coffee and trolling facebook... I'm told but since I don't do boats that a boston whaler is an absolute must for boating on the ocean. I say this because my Father in law has one that hasn't seen water since before Mike and I started dating 15yrs ago....it's land locked in the garage at my in-laws in North Georgia.

Mike said if it's a free day he'd love to go too.

Oh, and while I will bringing the hot dogs, I'm electing someone else to do the grilling. Not sure how willing anyone will be to eat my attempts to grill on charcoal. Should we put Jamie on the grill? Lol- 42 replies

You are so right! My husband was the new guy @ the 2011 Vogel rally riding his new to him suzuki volusia intrruder. He had barely been riding 4months and never in a group. Being the new guy considerations were made for his skill and ability and a more experienced rider was assigned to stay with us in case wr got lost on the way to deals gap nc and back to Vogel to state park. It made a realize we found the right group for us. Ride to your level of ability.

I can bring a couple of bags of charcoal. I'm sure I can get some hotdogs from Sam's too. As it stands Mike and I will be in Blairsville from the Sat before Vogel until the 16th. If buns or bread items are requested of me, remind me before I leave home, I don't generally shop for bread.- 42 replies

I have a smallish charcoal grill and a stash of charcoal I can load in the Van if someone wants to help me unload stuff Sat. Blairsville has a Walmart and an Ingles in town for grocery shopping. I have a Sam's 10mins from the house. If we can get a head count a couple of weeks ahead of time I'm sure everyone can bring some contribution of food to the table for a Saturday meal. Mike and I talked, we are going to try and get his Mom and our kids to come hang out Sat with everyone. With everything going on with Mike's Dad we feel she needs to be social.- 42 replies

Thank you for not canceling Lewis! Mike and I look forward to Vogel everytime. It's the vacation we know we can plan for each host year. Also, thank you for saving me from spending 8 days with my mother in law. Now I have only 4 days with her lol. Bless her, she means well, but she and I are very different people. Maybe I can get her to come socialize Saturday and bring the kids.- 42 replies

SO! What are the AGES of the DRIVERS of VR.Org?
GAWildKat replied to Zfrebird4's topic in Watering Hole
You were born when I was a senior in High School! Damn, I'm old(er). I just turned 41 last month, Mike's 36. -
I wish you the best of luck tomorrow and have faith everything will go as planned and you will be well on your way to good health.

Over here in Middle Georgia will be the same. Was walking around the mall yesterday (it's an outdoor mall) and actually got mildly sunburned. Even my feet got a bit of sun. Hopefully will get an evening ride in after dinner.

Well, I got the chatroom to work with my tablet, so we will see how this goes tonight.

I think you need a seatbelt to hold you on the bike while traveling upside down, or is that a trip to down under? -
I had a similar experience with my gallbladder 10 years ago. Well it took 4 years to diagnose me with gallstones and a gangerous gall bladder. But the saga that led to me having surgery started in May 2005 when I suddenly got very sick and a friend rushed me to the doc. I was in liver failure and presented with hepatitis like symptoms. Doc couldn't figure out what was causing it and kept sending me for more tests but everything was inconclusive. In July 2005, I had what I learned was another gallstone attack that sent me to the ER again. The ER doc assigned to me realized I was having a gallstone attack and set me up with an ultrasound to check for gallstones. I was full of them. The surgeon said it was like sand and rocks in my gall bladder, he also mentioned that unknown to anyone I had gangrene in my gall bladder since at least May. I was a very sick person who almost died due to a younger, inexperienced doctor that relied more on labs than experience. She's a great person, but for my needs, a poor doctor. Unlike Great White I had the laperscopic surgery, so I was my old self in a couple of months. To ease your symptoms with your gallbladder for now, you need to pay attention to what you eat. No more than 16grams of fat a DAY. Bake or grill your food but no frying or sauteing (no oil in the pan to prevent food from sticking) stick to small portions of food up to 5 times a day. When I say small, I mean small. Meat should be 2-3inches by 3-4inches, veggies, same thing.. Ask for pain meds, it hurts! You have to let the gall bladder rest to get a break from the pain. Hope this helps, and very sorry you are sick. Tricia

If Dan wants a trike, I found him one local to me, a 1988 Venture with a lehman kit. It looks like it was well kept, the current owner is the 2nd owner, and truthfully knows nothing about ventures or trikes. If it gets to a point this gets serious I will house an overnight/weekend guest to go look at the trike. I won't post the info on the trike cuz either Dan or I will get the thing, one way or another. Hope Dan heals quickly.
