Squid, on her way home tell her to stop just south of the mo state line in blytheville....hampton inn. Nice place, stayed there 6 times in the last three years on road trip from hou. To indy. Second exit(northbound) and the motel is on the west side on the freeway next to the shell station. Really good chineese buffet next door, good breakfast in the lobby.....tell her not to look for whitecastles here in houston, but near the hospital is a Steak & Shake...

Don, the chantix works...on my last pack of pills now. Can't say it is easy though. forgot how to take them and started taking two every morning, made me sick. then re-read instuctions.....EAT FIRST.....ok Then days later glanced at package. Not again, it has symbols for morning and evening. must have had my head up my back side.....now it has been.....9 days, no maybe 10, can't remember......nightmares, sell venture...o god no that has to be the meds talking.............Don I'm still here if you get the next urge and need to call or e-mail somebody...

Nice guy. Been there three times in the last three years. It is either used or it will be new. Good prices too. Got my p-clamps from him for my RK mufflers. Back in the 70's I when I lived up there I did business with him then. Kinda why I went back to him now.

I think I know this bike. I used to be mine. I sold it to "ponches" trike lady and her hubby. they sold it to a neighbor. and they live off Robt's cem rd. Green Trike ponch?

Don, sorry to hear about the stroke. Thank God is was minor THIS TIME. Last monday I started taking "chantix". Next Monday I should be off too. My wife quit two years ago and now it is my turn. When you get that urge you can e-mail me and maybe WE can get past it.

Dan, both times we have ridden up to your town we made sure we stopped every 1-2 hrs. At 60-85 mph your sweat evaporates and you don't know how much fluid your are losing (even in the midwest). Every stop the two of us shared at least one 16 oz bottle. The first time we made the trip we got sick late in the day the first day not knowing we were dehydrated...summer riding always drink lots of fluids.

Roadkill: you brought back a memory...back in 99 I pointed out a nice little intruder to her and mentioned that maybe it was time again after 13 years of not riding to ?.....two days later she walked into my job, handed me a helmet an said " that intruder will be ready at 3pm" Think I'll take her out sat for a nice dinner.

I got one from them 10 years ago called "haulin a##". It was a tilting flat bed with wood floor, i put side rails on it and hauled mine to colorado and back with no trouble. If you get the mesh floor you should put down a layer of plywood to beef up the floor or the mesh will sag

Two years ago rode to the midwest without the backrest. At 500 mile my rear was so sore. This past summer got a cheap backrest and did the exact same trip. After 500+ mile i was still ready to go but midnight and being sleepy made me stop. I agree that every one should have one.

That is the worst I have ever had on mine. And that was two up pulling a trailer in hilly southern Illinois. Definite problem with the scooter. But it still beats ridin' in a cage ! ! ! !

Why are 86-93 VENTURES considered 1st generation Ventures ? Shouldn’t they be considered 2nd gen’s and the 99 and newer models be called 3rd gen’s? After all the 83-85 bike had smaller saddlebags and only 1200cc motors VS. 1300 cc’s and larger bags on 86-93. And as I understand it there are more items that are different than just motor and bags on the 83-85 and the 86-93 models. So why do we do this?
