I didin't pay attention to where this incident took place...but in the northern areas we have to be REALLY CAREFUL because at this time of the year there is still a lot of sand on the roads from the winter. We need a few more heavy rains to wash them down. A combination of being out of practice after a long winter, along with the adrenaline rush of finally enjoying riding and the special problems spring riding brings up can end up causing problems. It seems worse at intersections but for some reason, corners seem to have a fair bit also. Remember, it's like a million ball bearings under your wheels AND feet. I've had the front end wash out on me already this year on a soft shoulder (donation made) ...and almost lost it again when my foot started sliding out from under me due to the sand when I stopped a bit off balance .

I never thought jumping the left turn to be dangerous. You can often be gone before they are even starting to pull away. I understand if you jump BEFORE the green....or if you have to cross 2 oncoming lanes....but on a 2 lane road.....I can't see the problem.

help with 84 venture carb screws?
Trader replied to beachbumtroy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
One of the members sent me the directions on how to make a VERY cheap and easy tool for doing a carb sync. I am not in the least mechanically inclined and I put it together and sync'd the carbs myself!!! yay me! Just 4 vacuume gages and some plumbing fixtures and tubing really. I think it cost me about $30 all in. If you want, PM me with your eamil and I'll send it to you -
I got one just before the end of last season.....works great but "navigating" is a pain...you have to use the remote to skp songs etc. But if all you want to do is listen to a preset list of songs its GREAT!

My wife bought me a GPS made by LG. After owning it for over 2 years I dropped it and it stopped working. I called up LG to see how much it might cost to have it fixed. (it had a 1 year manufacturers warrenty) They asked if I could ship it to them so they could check it out. Now for the amazing part. Because it was the first time I had ever called them with any problem, They gave me an account number so THEY paid the shipping to return it. I thought that alone was pretty good. I sent it off to Toronto (about 200 miles away) on Monday afternoon. I figured it would be a couple of weeksbefore I got a call with the estimate. On Wednesday (the same week) there was a knock on the door and there was the courier with my repaired GPS!!!!!! Not only was it amazingly quick....they paid for the shipping both ways, and for the repair over a year after the warrenty ran out. I don't know why they did that....but since then I have bought an LG Plasma TV and 2 LG fridge/freezer combo's. And I have told a LOT of folks how great they are so it was a good investment on their part.

A thief in Paris planned to steal some Paintings from the Louvre. After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings, and made it safely to his van. However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, 'Monsieur, that is the reason I stole the paintings.' I had no Monet To buy Degas To make the Van Gogh. I know...it's pretty bad! I dare you to have De Gaulle to tell this to someone else. I posted it here because I figured I had nothing Toulouse. (is it riding season yet?)

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before but I found a fantastic site for guitar lessons. www.guitartricks.com Don't let the name scare you...It takes you from "this is a fret and this is how to hold your pick", to basic scales and music reading up to the most complicated riffs and songs you can imagine. There are over 3000 video lessons, which include printable sheet music and tabs. You can select lessons by difficulty and style (country, rock, classic etc) I think it's $14.95 a month or $129 for a year. I have no affilitation with this site...but I would recommend it to anyone trying to learn or improve their playing. I know I'm enjoying it a lot!
