Jellyfish butt or elephant butt....we seem to have theme going! The picture caption is " Hand Me the Flashlight"

On the way down to MD I did a dumb thing! I pulled out of the Seneca gas station near Buffalo with a group of bikes and immediately was at a stop sign...waiting to turn left. I stopped, checked traffic. It was all clear on the left, and on my right I saw a car slowing down quite a bit so I ASSUMED he also had a stop sign. I proceeded to make my left hand turn RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM!!!! Thankfully he was going slow enough that he avoided me quite easily but it really shook me up realizing what I had done. Also related to the focus that Don spoke of. I was more concerned in keeping up with the other riders and didn't FOCUS on what was going on around me.

Does Marca know what you REALLY do out in the shop?

Freebird's Maintenance Day Parts/Accessories Thread

I just had to change out my $3.00 cup holder! -
BIG THANKS to Skydoc for walking me thru the clutch change.... and for extending me credit on the clutch purchase for half a day! Also toEileen and Freebird for a great weekend and helping...(O.K.....doing!) the carb sync on my 84. After the work was done I went for a quick ride and power shifted from 2nd to 3rd and the front wheel came off the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i do have one complaint.... When I went to pull my first gen into the garage to get the carb sync done....Freebird told me "no....take it BEHIND the garage!" Now I know how black folks felt when they were told to get to the back of the bus!!!! It was my first MD....rode to MarCarl's from Kingston and crashed there on Thursday (Thanks Carl and Marca!) ...then on to Oberlin with the bunch on Friday. Left Sunday to Niagara Falls, camped out and came home Monday. I am left with great memories...new friends and a new look! I look like I am wearing a bright red mask due to the sunburn. Red face....White forehead, neck, sideburns and ears. I"m gonna hear about this for awhile I'm sure!

First time I took my wife (then a VERY new girlfriend) on a ride we went down. We were on a tight corner with rolling bumps, on a road of VERY smooth chip and tar finish. Between the centrifical force, the bumps and the added weight of a passenger, the rear end bottomed out and just spit the wheel out from under us. We slid along like we were on ice! I ended up with very minor road rash, she had a bump on her ankle and the bike had minor damage. She forgave me....but She never did like bikes too much :rotf:and 30 years later...it hasn't changed much. I'm riding about 530 miles to MD....alone! She will only ride about an hour at a time and that's her...done.

ANY throttle lock should be tight enough to hold the grip in place against the spring action....but still loose enough that you can twist the throttle even without taking the extra time to release the lock. Anything else would be dangerous
-
Note to self.....be "unselfish" and let Marcarl work on other folks' bikes!

If Annie is flying out tomorrow, what with the international date line, does that mean she'll be arriving today? Inquiring minds need to know!
