You should have no problem! September is still very good weather in Niagara Falls and Most of Ontario. I was camping and swimming in the northern part of Algonquin Provincial Park in Sept. 2-3 years ago. You can expect 65-70 or even hotter during the daytime most days...but it could get much cooler at night. Depends if you are talking about early or late September. I'm much further north than Niagara and it's usually mid to late October before we put any heat on in the house.

Need to Replace Electric Hot Water Heater-Opinions?
Trader replied to RSTDdog's topic in Watering Hole
I purchased a propane tankless water heater....so a huge savings over electric. I doubt you have to worry about freezing in Florida so you could even mount it outside the house. -
Good advice for all to follow, two or twenty.

Riding to Don's MD this year was my first real experience riding with a group....and although it was nearly all on slab it was still a learning experience. The one question I have from the animation is about "never crossing over" to fill in. If a rider in front of you leaves the group, how else can you fill in if not by crossing over? If the bike behind you (same side as the the gap) is following at least 1 second behind, I don't see the problem....as long as you signal your intentions of course -
They couldn't leave you at the side of the road....it would damage the reputation of the ventures......and provide ammo against first gens!

And it's even more fun as you get closer to 60!

trailer is 4 hours away from me.... I can send you better pics when I go to pick it up in about 1 1/2 weeks. you can see the leg just swivels on the bolt that goes all the way Thru the channel and the leg. you can't see the locking mechanism but it is really just a 3/4" wide piece of flat plate about 4 " long. It has a permanent bolt on one end and the other end has a notch or hook that fits under a washer and a wing nut. The locking mech. just pivots across the channel holding the leg up in the channel of the tounge and the wing nut secures it. I think it needs rubber to stop it rattleing

I think you folks should be riding more and spending less time at home! I'm getting very worried about some of you....specially the boss who started this whole thing. Speaking of invisible...they could take a scan of your brain but it would show nothing!!!!

Only starts if TCI is hot
Trader replied to tcoop's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
in my totally inexperienced opinion...I would GUESS that when it is hot, something is expanding and creating a good contact. once it cools an contracts, the contact is lost. There is a thread on the site with how to test the TCI. Maybe if you test it cold, you will be able to find out which circuit is faulty. I'm sure someone else will jump in with better info -
The Bible teaches us that the man is the head of the wife. (Eph. 5:23) What it doesn't tell us is that the woman is the neck....and we all know the neck controls the head!!!!

1st post, 1st problem

If the TCI is toast, One of the members here offered me a working 83 TCI for $75 (or somewhere around that) -
Is the income you get on a 28 year old bike really going to make that much difference to your finances? On the plus side, you will save the insurance and "fixing" costs.

and don't forget....we get to marry a wonderful woman! (hopefully)

And just what were you smoking at the time? -
when mine gets "clunky" it usually means it needs clutch bleeding....but at the same time the engage point gets really close to fully pulled in

Glad it went well. Heal fast!

The Dealer says I need steering head bearings which is over 4 hours labour at $85 per hour plus the kit. The bike only has 65,000 so I"m wondering if perhaps they are just loose. I'm going to look into that this afternoon. But if I need some work on it........I've got Dingy's wrench But I need a "how to". I found a tutorial for 2nd Gen by Freebird...but couldn't find anything on a 1st Gen (mkII) ....could anyone let me know if there is a how to on REPLACING or Greasing the steering bearings?

I'm Getting "Amp"'d Up
Trader replied to Midicat's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think I got one in a box of parts recently advertised on here. I just wanted the intercom cable and got a box of other goodies included. I'll check it out later today to be sure but IF I do have an extra one, it's yours ....free if you decide to go for a ride to Kingston....or pay for shipping. -
I would guess the truck owner's insurance will cover the damage??? Did you call the police to put in a report? Did he admit it was his?

does anyone have a set of saddlebag lids for a MKII (88). Condition or colour doesn't matter as long as the clamps are good. I want to cut holes in them so the dogs can ride in the saddlebags and stick their heads out as they want. Rattlecan paint will be fine seeing as they may get a bit scratched up anyway. I took the dogs for a ride in the bags already...just had the lids off.....and they seemed to love the ride. My wife and I can just reach down to give them a pat. They seemed to enjoy it , and when they've had enough they just lied down to get out of the wind! They are only about 12-15 lbs each so they fit quite comfortably in the saddlebag along with a blanket on the bottom. For those who may be concerned...we DID have them restrained so they couldn't jump out. We are planning on buying goggles to protect their eyes also.
