Kite String "Clotheslines" biker in Toronto
Trader replied to VentureT's topic in Safety and Education
Looks like it was possible the kite string was just an "unfortunate circumstance" from the kite battles that go on in the area.....but did you see the related article on fishing line? That had to be intentional! How can you "watch out" for fishing line? The world is truely becoming sicker and sicker!- 10 replies

I just got back from a 2 hour ride in very windy conditons...but it was a great ride! I noticed AGAIN today my bike (the 84) seems to really snake around Right sweeping turns. Now I know this condition would be improved with a superbrace and progressives and I am going to put them into my 88. Regardless....why doesn't it wallow around on Left turns too? When I turn Left, it feels like I'm on rails! I'd be very happy if I was riding a NASCAR track...but Right is always an adventure and even scary at times! Tires only have abou 3000 on them so I doubt it is that....why one side only?

Does anyone have a right side dash vent off a 1st gen It's the vent right beside the speaker grill. Red arrow shows the part I need...but I only need the RIGHT side vent. Anyone???

But if having EQUAL air pressure in both forks is so important WHY wouldn't the 2nd Gen have a cross over air system like the first Gen's do. It seems like a no brainer to me!

Just tell her you are only going to spend as much as she gave the contractor after you told her not to!

What you don't see is 10 ft behind her is an open hole with a dirt floor where our living room used to be! The floor joists and sill plates were all rotten...and becasue it has a VERY small crawl space we had to get at it from above. Starting on replacing the main beam tomorrow..then hopefully we'll be doing secondary beams and the floor joists within a day or two. She's working on the plastic for me while I'm doing work she can't help me with. Usually we ARE a team doing everything together!

My wife used to own a nail salon and has done nails for close to 30 years. So I let her do all the plastex repairs! That's not the ususal position for doing nails though! You can see the "FINGER FASHION" sign that was in her salon behind her.

shows what I know....I figured it was just the 40" x 49" with a piece of plywood and a car topper on it.

Isn't it one of these? Bottom Left? From the HF site.

Hopefully someone will step up and host it near the NE corner of the States....or Southern Ontario??? I would but I don't think we can do much on my 80x100 lot.

Can anybody tell me if the difference in the Canada/US speedo is just the faceplate, (so all working parts identical) just the speedo/Odometer cluster or if the front wheel part is different? I would imagine cross referencing part numbers would tell me but I don't know how to get that information. I don't think it is just the faceplate.....they don't quite seem to line up i.e. 12 o'clock high is 55 mph on US bike....but about 67 mph on Can. bike Mind you, I am comparing Mk I(canadian) to Mk II (US) The speedo works on my (Canadian) 84 but the odometer does not. I have a US speedo to put in (thanks to a member here) but I'm not sure if it will read correctly. .

adding rear led lights
Trader replied to mike042's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Glad you were able to get her done!....but you don't have to yell about it! all uppercase is considered YELLING ....plus it's harder to read. Not a big deal....just a FYI -
Just measure your diagonals, corner to corner. If they are the same, then you are square.

Not sure of the legalities...but I used to take my kids on the bike when they were 5-6 years old. But I had the IN FRONT of me...so they were cradled between my arms. Years later my son told me that because I was riding a crotch rocket at the time and so I was leaning forward...so was he! He said all he could see was the road going by below him!
