    I've got a set of Markland foot rests that bolt onto the front crash bar. They just don't seem to allow me to stretch out as much as I would like. Is there any type of extension you can get or if I have to buy a different model, can anybody direct me to a REASONABLEY PRICED alternative? I don't want to spend $200 for foot rests! EDITED TO SHOW PICS OF FOOTRESTS I HAVE, AND WINDSHEILD CHROME I"M LOOKING FOR!

    The only GW I ever rode was a late 80's model. But then, my VR's are 83,84 and 88 so I am comparing apples to apples. VR wins hands down. They are faster, and corners way better! The GW seemed to drag the center stand every time I tried to get into a decent corner!

    I'll be watching this thread with great interest...as my cruise doesn't work either. But I think I know where to begin to look. It will only start when in neutral...so I believe I have an issue with my clutch switch.

    Thanks Yammer! I'll try that tonight. I'm assuming you are talking about the "only idle on choke" issue. I sprayed carb cleaner around the boots and there was no increase in revs.

    Well....the 88 is back together. Last night the class was working just fine....intermittant now. E4 error pops up...if I press down on the controll unit, it works...then E4 again. I bled the clutch...still needs a bit more. had to bleed the front brake too. I guess turning the caliper upside down a few times while it was off the wheel messed it up. It runs...but still won't idle without choke...have to idle it (using the choke) to about 3000 rpm to keep it running. Seafoam doesn't seem to be doing the trick. While I had the airbox off I poured seafoam down the throats of each carb...and I've run a few bottles thru it now. I opened the side covers on the carbs, checked the diaphrams and sprayed carb cleaner radomly inside the carb body. Sprayed down the throats too. Still the same. All in all I'm fairly happy with it. I'll probably have to rebuild the carbs this winter. One thing that is going to drive me nuts.....It seems to have developed a whistle at anything over 45 mph....I can't find the cause so far.

    My typing is much like my mechanical work....I ususally get it right the 2nd or 3rd try. I have to BLEED the clutch. Hey JAYCEESFOLLY.....GET READY! WOOOOO HHOOOOO!!!!

    WOOOO HOOOO!!!! YAY! WHOOPEEE! bet you know by now.....it's FIXED!!!! I had a R/W and R/Y mixed up...which fixed the ignition problem....then all I did was take apart the CLASS controller plug (again) sprayed cleaner on it(again) but it back together and it's WORKING!!!! SO....now all I have to do is put it all back together again, blled the clutch...get a safety check and I'm ready to go! So...I hope this good weather lasts to the middle or end of the week!

    I suppose it could be....and if Jim has to get it out of there I won't have any choice but to cage it. But that really sucks!!!!!!!

    truth be told I've only had 1 evening to look at it. But I"m as lost as ever! I'm thinking there might be a trailer wintering in Rochester at this rate!

    Do Dyna beads work better with de-linked brakes? Or does that only work when using Amsoil and running on the dark side?

    DEPRESSED???? I've never met you...but You must be a studmuffin or something if they guy is using your pic to score with the ladies! Mine would just scare them away!

    It sounds like they are NOT using one of your accounts...more likely they are using your name and pictures they copied. Unless you can actually find the new you online, you have no chance stopping it. Once that stuff in in the public domain...anyone can use it...for any purpose they want and you can't control it. I'm not saying the MAY..as in legal or moral or ethical...I'm saying they CAN. If they are using your name, you can google yourself and try and find all the sites your name appears on.

    Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica - Where do they go ? Wonder no more ! ! ! It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life. The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life. If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried. The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing: "Freeze a jolly good fellow" "Freeze a jolly good fellow." Then they kick him in the ice hole. :rotfl:

    Is anything actually happening there or are you still trying to figure out square?

    Don't just give up on the whole bike unless it is "marginal" to start with! These things don't die that easily and a lot of bikes are parted out when the drive train is still good! Maybe you can find one cheap and just swap out the whole thing. I would think that would be easier than rebuilding anything.
