The heel toe shifter on my 83 is flopping around on the shaft. The hole in the aluminum shifter body has gone oval shape and it makes shifting less "secure" if that's the right word. Feels uncomfortable in that I'm not really sure I AM getting to the desired gear or if the shifter just moved under my foot. (I've rarely missed a shift...but you know what I mean.) Is installing a bushing something I can do myself? I don't really want to pay for an expensive machinist job! I am assuming I drill out the hole in the aluminum shifter to the outside diameter of a bushing that would fit tight over the shaft. What would stop the hole from wearing out again? Where does someone buy bushings?

Yeah....discrimination at it's worst. 2nd gens only. They may have the cables....but we have the speed.

Well I got the clutch bled properly, checked the air pressure in the tires and went for a ride. The class is acting up...I have to press on the connection from behind to see the display..but other than that it seems to be working OK. Went for a 1/2 hr ride and changed the oil and filter (I know ....that should have been done BEFORE it was stored) Does anyone have a set of chrome speaker trim? I think they were from Ventureline.....just an "outline" of the speaker grill in chrome. I'd be interested in buying a pair if anyone has some. Also looking for the chrome tabs that go on the top-back corners of the faring...they are about 3" long, with a 90 degree bend and cover the corner.

same thing happened to me a few years back. I was attending a business meeting at a yacht club and, as I was early, I decided to walk around the boardwalk/docks. There was a 5' hedge on one side, about a 4' boardwalk then water. I turned a corner and almost stepped on a goose on her nest! The Gander (male goose) went crazy on me!! He flew up in my face trying to peck me. He did manage to get a bite my suit or tie several times. It was hand to beak combat in close quarters...I had to watch my step if I didn't want to go swimming! Well I backed up in a hurry, all the while trying to just push against the birds chest to keep him off me. I didn't want to hurt him...he was just protecting his future family! It seemed it had at least a 5' wingspan :whistling:although I was a little to busy to measure at the time. Once I got to a safe distance, I realized that I had dropped my cell phone in the fracus . So, once again with steely determination, I bravely advanced into enemy territory I was searching the ground for my cell phone, all the while fending of the attack of the frantic Dad to be. There it was! just a few feet away from the nest! It was close enough that mother goose decided she had to help Dad out and joined the fray. (This is no fairy tale!) Mind you....It was hard to look very effectively while I was warding off the attacks of a pair of killer guard geese! The phone was laying there...., and the battery case cover, so I scooped them up and beat a hasty retreat out of there! Once at a safe distance (had to be further than the first time) I went to put the battery cover on the phone and discovered there was NO BATTERY:crying: I decided I had caused enough upset to the family (Is it possible to cause eggs to have a miscarrage?) and decided it really was time to buy a new battery anyway. Besides, I had to go change my underware !

We did the same thing....they told us to look online to see the luxury accomodations. We were impressed...but it Turns out those rooms were for the members! We ended up in what was basically a regular hotel room. The resort was nice and we got freebies for going...but it seemed a bit like "bait and switch" Still well worth the $69 we paid for the weekend.

when you were "invited" to go for the weekend they told you you would have to attend a sales meeting. I ALWAYS ask in advance how long that sales meeting is. When the clock strikes....I say thank you and get up and leave. Some places ask you to sign a paper showing you were there. But you don't have to let them bully you or to keep you longer than you were told. The longest one I had to attend was 90 min. I am also strongly against buying one! Use the money for a hotel. Afterall...when on holiday, basically all you need is a bed! All the other stuff is just "nice to have"

A women called into the radio to ask how to get rid of a skunk that decided to make a home under her front porch. The radio person told her to lead a trail of bread crumbs from the hole in her porch to the bush behind her house and seal the hole once the porch had been vacated by the skunk. Seemed easy enough so the next day she laid down a trail of bread crumbs. Then she called the radio station and asked "how do I get 2 skunks out from under my porch?"

I had a plane that would do pretty much anything. And once in a while it would actually do what I wanted. I did one or two of those moves myself! 1-take off 2- land

Subject: Fw: Income tax Returned Mail Can you believe it? They sent my income tax return form back to me! In response to question # 4, "Do you have any dependants?" I replied: 2.1 million illegal immigrants 1.1 million crack heads 4.4 million unemployable people 901 thousand people in over 85 prisons and 650 idiots in Parliament Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer. Who the hell did I miss?

I really enjoy reading of your rides. You have a nice flair for writing. My account would read more like..... I rode across the desert. It was hot and dry...the sun was setting....it was a reddish glow'.....very pretty. I went to bed and got up next day. then I rode some more end of story. Your writing style makes it MUCH more interesting!

Totally off topic...but I saw a report about concern the London Olympics advertising was going to cause seizures to some folks. It was brightly flashing geometic shapes. Back to topic now

I've used the Dunlop 404 on all 3 ventures I have had. Mind you...nothing else to compare them to as that is ALL I have used. -
When we are out and about in the country in our Ministry we see all types of homes that are protected with a camera powered by a small (4" x 4") solar panel. One time I was at a call where nobody was at home.. I was in my truck that had my company name and phone number on the back window and befoe I even got home there was a message on my machine questioning why I was there! It must have had some type of alerting system as well as the camera to capture the image of the truck.

Skydoc, a member on this site, sells the fuse upgrade ....a probably anything else you might need! He comes highly recommended...not only for his service and price...but also the fact that he doesn't seem to mind phone calls from technically challenged wrench wanna-bes!!!!! I've got a lot of bits and pieces from Earl...both new and used and been very happy with all. And like I said....he (and many others on this site) are more than willing to help us get thru those challanging situations ...you know .... like how to pick up a big bike like ours when it's fallen over Don't ask how I know! -
Why not save us a lot of time and just give it to Condor now?

It would be a lot better to let 500 people win a million each. Think about it....that would be perhaps 1000 new cars, 500 new houses 500 vacations etc etc. If one person wins that much....you MIGHT buy 3-4 houses and maybe even 50 cars to collect....but it would stimulate the economy a lot better if they spread the wealth.

Best pieces of advice I got when learning to ride was : Look where you want to go. If you look where you don't want to go, the bike will go there! try not to use the front brake as you come to full stop. Early in the braking..of course! But not once you get down to a crawl. Make sure the front wheel is straight when you come to a stop. # 2 & #3 helped me to keep the beast upright. It seemed if I ignored those two pieces of advice, the bike always wanted to fall over at a stop! Enjoy the site! Lots of technical advice...and lots of "entertainment" also. Where else can you get over 600 comments and 30,000 views on the excitement of building a garage!

Years ago (I'm talking almost 40 years ago) I was just starting out. But then I ended up on strike and lost everything I had. I had to sell my bike, lost my apartment and had to move back home with Mum & Dad. Trouble is....I didn't want to live there. So I ended up in the City (Toronto) where they had closed of of the the main downtown streets and made it into a pedestrian mall. They Called it the Younge St. mall I was "too proud" to panhandle, but I figured I could put on a show so I would do advanced gymnastics on the street while my friends asked for donations for "medical expenses". They would say "he doesn't need them now but if he keeps doing this he probably will!" I made enough money for me and a few friends to eat everyday. But that's all I would do...once we had enough to eat I would stop. One of my favourite stories about that time is about a very drunk person was very concerned about me. He said "You gotta stop that! You're going to kill yourself! " Like I said...I was doing full back flips, layouts etc. on the pavement of the road. The drunk said... "How much money do you need to stop?" So I told him what we needed to feed ourselves for the rest of the day (About $10 bucks would buy 5 subs back then!) He said...."OK....you gotta stop or you're going to split your head open! Here's the money.....but first..... could you do one more of those..." (gesturing circles with his pointed finger!) I did, we ate...and slept on the grass in a local park. I refer to that summer as my "hippie" summer....and is among the best times of my life.

A friend of mine just got a brand new 2013 Lincoln MK something or another. I was surprised it was 2013 model already. It only had 187 Km on it....fully loaded with every possible toy I think. She let me drive it around all morning while we were out in our ministry and we were going down cottage roads as well as open roads. It really is a nice car! One of the things I really liked was the back up camera. Even better was her attitude...."it's nice...but its still just a car" She is a very spiritual person, and even though she is quite well off, material things don't really matter to her that much.
