No floor drains that might be dry at all? It is possible that the main stack has come loose in the wall. Happened to me in one house. It wasn't even glued at the joint!

The snake is probably a good idea....sounds like a it could be a plugged vent. Funny that that everything is flowing well though

Black Fork Braces
Trader replied to Condor's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I put progressive springs and Condor's brace on my MkII.....WOW what a difference! The handling is so much more sure. I still have a tendancy to "over ride" from my rocket sled days...but my VR can do a lot more now than it used to! -
Welcome to the site! I'll be in Kingston in the next few days I'm sure. I live up in Tichborne but have a rental property in Kingston . PM me your phone number. I'll give you a call before I come in. What time is usually best for you? I see your trial membership is half done. Anyway, Spend the $12 to become a full member. The tech advice you get from the site as well as the friendships are priceless. Plus the downloads of manuals etc is worth the price alone!

There are no HF in Canada that I know of. I'll head over to Watertown NY....about 1 1/2 hrs from here.

I'm showing up early just so I can bug Carl that much more! I'm leaving here sometime Friday and going to Brandford via a leasurely, scenic and hopefully meandering route. Otherwise I have to leave here at 4:00 Sat morning. and I don't do early! Seems odd somehow that I'm going to ride over 200 miles each way so I can meet up with a bunch of ???????????? just to go for a ride!!!!

These folks say it is an original coupon that they are selling....in fact, NOT selling the coupon...just their services for finding it and clipping it out and mailing it . I've never seen any of the HF coupons other than on the HF web site...that's why I was wondering if it was a scam IF anyone has one of these coupons and would be willing to mail it to me I would VERY MUCH appreciate it. I don't buy any of the magazines etc that it might be in and being up in Canada we don't get them in newspapers . If none of the good folks here can help out I will be forced to "risk" a whopping $6 for the ebay service and that just might make it less of a deal:whistling:

Last time I fell from a ladder I was in a cast for 6 weeks, a brace for 4 weeks and off work for 4 months! And I was only 5 ft. up! Messed me up for life. (at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)

Oh....by the way....the Yamaha Dealer near me refused to install my used tire due to "liability issues". The thing is like new ...not that they even bothered to look at it! I got the wheel back on....spent a lot of time working on the front running lights and getting them up and running. So now I just have to figure out how to compress the brake pads to get the calipers back on. I am assuming I need to break open the bleeder to be able to press them back or is there an easier way? It would be a pain to have to bleed the system if not required.

I did the balance as per video.....ended up I needed 1 3/4 oz. to get it pretty close. Not so bad.
-
I may need a new real wheel
Trader replied to etcswjoe's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Did you spray soap solution on the valve stem? Could be the seal for the stem itself or the spring valve leaking. I had a slow leak in a tire that turned out to be the guts of the valve had worked loose. -
Looks simple enough that even I could do it. So....are stick on weights legal in Ontario? I know I have some from flying RC. Otherwise it means a trip to town!
-
OK....got the old tire removed and the new(used) tire mounted for only $10...but the shop I went to don't do balancing on a bike tire. They are a small auto repair shop selling car tires and also a cycle salvage place I replaced an "elite II" with the same brand tire. He took all the weights off the rim so I have no idea how the balance is (haven't reinstalled the wheel yet) Is balancing the wheel anything I can do myself? If yes....HOW? If nothing else I'll put a can of Ride ON in it.

What I hated about Hugesnet was if you exceed your data limit they shut you down to dial up speed for 24 hours! This is not an average over 24 hours....it only has to be 1 hour where you download too much. I think I had speed of 700 bps download and it was only 50-70 upload.

the explaination is quite simple. First Gens just move so fast the rubber gets hot and soft and has a hard time keeping up. PLEASE>>>NO VIAGRA COMMENTS!!!!!
-
Thanks....I thought so....but better to ask than to be charged extra!
-
to have the dealer change out the rubber on the front, (removed from bike) do I have to also remove the discs from the wheel? I'm thinking not...but I want to be sure.
-
but you notice that in 50% of the pictures he's just sitting there!

Finally got to ride.
Trader replied to lwinders's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
check your resevoir too....if it is more than 1/2-3/4 full, once it heats up it could cause the brakes to engage. or so I've learned from this site. Never experienced it myself. -
Rounding that corner or cresting that hill and seeing a sight you've never seen before. I live in a BEAUTIFUL part of the country with lots of lakes and beaver ponds, rock faces, twisties everywhere leading to little hamlets and villages that all seem to have a seperate personality. But most of all I just love the total experience. The sun, wind, thrills, calm....even riding in the rain is enjoyable at times! Sure wish my wife shared my passion. She "tolerates" going for a ride every now and then.
