  1. I would be interested also. Depending on $$$$
  2. They were looking good until they wanted $25 for shipping! Thanks Evan! CTC has them so I think I'll check them out.
  3. I like curves...but not the ones you have to slow down to 15 mph to negotiate! If I can cruiise along at about 45 mph and enjoy some twisties at that speed then life is good. Too tight = too much work!
  4. Here's the link to the service manuals from this site. http://labs.trunkful.com/vrmanuals/index.cfm

    Americade

Hey Bongobobny! So how was Americade? I've never been there but I can imagine that it is hundreds of vendor booths. But besides that, what's there? Anything out of the ordinary to share? Inquiring minds want to know!
  6. It was on the news the other night that some places are considering banning texting and walking. People tend to walk into the street without looking....walk into doors etc. It showed a girl walking into a street sign !
  7. Playing with a GPS while riding or driving is as bad as texting! program your destination BEFORE you ride. In Ontario, there is a $225 ticket for anyone using any kind of electronic device while driving. Hands free phone is OK...but no hand held, no playing with GPS, no texting. Needless to say, people still do it
  8. If mine aren't already in the mail Bob has my go ahead to send them to you instead...I'll get a set later!
  9. yeah...that's it! As long as those two days are Saturday or Sunday. You guys are starting to scare me!
  10. Link doesn't work. Sad to see...for a rider of any age.
  11. Let us know how you make out. I'm sure others like myself would be interested in replacing the foggy sight glass on ours.
  12. I've checked my diaphrams for pin holes and haven't seen any...but it almost sounds like it would be worth changing them out "just because". I have a set I was going to put in when I completely rebuild the carbs over this winter. Maybe I should change them out now?
  13. but no cassette!? sorry, you know SOMEBODY had to do it.
  14. hope they have more power than the BBB around here. If you have a problem they give them a negative feedback. They Don't help resove the problem at all...just warn the next guy. At least that was my experience a few years ago in Hamilton.
  15. I want to put convex mirrors on the top outside corner of the OEM mirrors. I"m thinking the 2 inch convex might be too big but I haven't been able to find anything smaller. For a 1st Gen Mk II Any suggestions? I'd suggest it is so I can keep an eye on the 2nd gens behind me...but I am looking for help here so I guess I'd better not.
  16. Oh that is just SOOOO old! But still good!
  17. the electronic ankle bracelet can't be too far in the future!
  18. Jayceesfolly had the same thing happen on his newly painted bike. OUCH. He posted some pics on here from his experience last summer.
  19. seems to be the most common failure of these seats. Both my 83 and 84 had split in the same spot. The 84 was repaired with a "caulking" type of material like Pegasus1300 is refering to. It was black so didn't show. The 83 is awaiting my attention:whistling:
  20. if they sent it via UPS or FedEx it might have been that much. I specifically requested they send it by USPS to avoid the rediculous brokerage charges.
  21. 24/2 = 24 hours a day, 2 days a week (weekends) as opposed to 24/7
  22. Didn't think it was that bad actually. Very happy with it.
  23. I just got mine delivered from Skydoc today...saved me $20 or so.
  24. I got a "Slipstreamer" windsheild from www.ronayers.com in Greenville NC Price is 73.88 plus delivery. The delivered price to Ontario was $104.20 Can.
  25. The highway issues could be steering head bearing needs adjusting. Too tight and the bike will tend to wander...too loose and you might get the shimmy you describe. Put the bike on the centerstand and push the handlebars to one side. They should "bounce" off the stop by just an inch or so. If the steering head bearing is too tight there will be no bounce...or might not even reach the stop....if they are too loose it will bounce back too far. The clutch is really easy to change. You don't even have to drain the oil to do it....just lean the bike over on it's side stand. The hardest part(Tedeous...not difficult) is removing the old gasket! I'm not much of a wrench at all and I was able to do it at Don's MD last year. The temperature guage on these bikes often runs on the high side. As long as it is not in the red you are good to go. Just let it run (when stopped) for awhile and you can check to see if the fan will come on. Without air flow to cool it the fan should kick in after awhile unless it is really cool outside. Skydoc17 (on this forum) can supply you with the parts you need and is a great resourse for tech help too! Not sure what to suggest about the cooling system...someone else will probably jump in on that one.
