You must be running awful low by now!

In Ontario unless you have a permit visible, you can be charged with a hefty fine for parking in a handicap zone. Like the man said ....it's the state law....nobody has the right to say "it's OK to break the law". It sounds a lot like the bar owner is distancing himself from the issue! Bet Bike night finds a new location after this one!

I listen to a boom box in the garage. works for me. What a difference a few decades make! I remember spending almost 2 week's wages on speakers in the early 70's!

That's COOL! sorry I just couldn't help myself)

Who cares! That was funny! And people call me a Bible Thumper!

Just a dig at HD... ignore the man behind the curtain. you'll get used to it eventually!

I wouldn't want to DELIBERATELY break the law. My thinking is it is "interpretation"..., the OPP officer agreed with me that trailer signal lights would be wrong if all flashing red lights are illegal!

the big cost of screen printing is the screen...which would be different for each style. Unless the min purchase is for the shirt itself?????

Also thinking of headlight modulator...which is legal here for sure. I found one by SIgnal Dynamics for $80 for the headlight and $35 for the tail light modulators. Are these any good? Any suggestions, thoughts?

Just got off the phone with the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) asking about the modulator's you can get for the rear brake lite. According to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, you CAN NOT have any device that provides a flashing red light. It goes on to say tapping the brakes is OK...so MY common sense thinking on this is that the law applies to a STEADY flash....that could be interpreted as impersonating a police vehicle. But a light that flashes 3 times then goes solid is no different than tapping the brakes to flash the driver behind...which I often do on the bike anyway. Anyway...the Sgt. I spoke to said it sounds very much like it would be up the the officer's discretion. So if you P.O'd the leo for some reason, he could nail you for the flasher. The back of my bike is lit up pretty good for running lights...but the only brake light is the factory installed rear brake light mounted on the fender. In the daylight I think it get lost so I'm thinking I'll use the reflector LED mod FlyingFool did up for the brake light and put a modulator on it anyway....and take my chances. I'd rather take my chances with an uncooperative LEO objecting to it than with John Q Public who might not see my brake lights .

class compressor
Trader replied to rbig1's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
my class works...but is has a loose connection..or maybe needs re soldering. The system works...but the display doesn't I have to pop open the coolant reservoir door and reach back with my fingertips to apply pressure to the white plug on the class system. Then the display works and I can see what's going on. But It works well enough to ride. Right now I'm fixing cracks and doing body work on my trunk.- 23 replies

Center for Disease Control Considers Helmetless Motorcyclists an Epidemic
Trader replied to AzBones's topic in Watering Hole
I agree with helmets....especially in Canada where the taxpayer covers the medical bills. If someone smokes and gets lung cancer or emphysema ...or rides without a helmet and sustains head injuries then they should have to pay extra insurance to cover their own medical expenses. Why is it that almost universally everyone agrees that younger kids should wear a helmet for their own protection....but get up in arms when the gov't mandates helmets for OUR own protection? DUH:doh: Just my -
Just a suggestion.....what about having the Leaf on the "pocket" area as a bold outline with the text inside the leaf? or is that not visible enough? I would be in for 2 with the leaf on the sleeve

I don't think Jerkey is a problem...more just fruits and vegies To be sure everyone understands...getting back into the US is harder because of US customs...you don't even stop at Canadian border guards on the way back into US. Be sure to give us a shout when you come up. I'm only 1 1/2-2 hours from Ottawa.

but did you read the comments below the video? Some of them were really good! -
Alex has an 86 venture. The chrome rack on top is an "add on" ...not stock you should include your bike info in your header....that way everyone knows what bike you have. I have an extra rack for one side or the other....I'll check out which one it is and get back to you on it. I guess now you know what those "strings" on the lids are for!

Hope I'm not highjacking this thread TOOOO much:whistling: I'm totally ignorant of this procedure... and don't have experience as a mechanic on the internal parts so could some one help me understand a bit more? During the rotation of the cam some of the lobes would be engaged, pressing against the valve stems with the valves partially open or closed. Some lobes would be totally free at any given time. So wouldn't you have to use the tool to rotate the cam to check clearances? or would you just use the rear wheel? Are there any good pictures of the shims etc....the pictures in the online manual are so dark you can't really see any details. I would be interested in a tool....and lots of help when the time comes..but I'm brave (or stupid) enough that I'm willing to try just about anything. I mean...what can go wrong right?
