  2. I'm sure that she got the message. Mind you .....I think you could have got it across without the personal insults. But...that's just me....sometimes I'm just too nice!
  3. Nothing a little sea foam and plastex wouldn't take care of. Wish I was closer!
  4. keep the oil at about 1/2 way up the sight glass....or slightly less any more than that and you will have oil in the airbox.
  5. Probably a stupid question but it's not in gear or the sidestand down is it?
  6. looks like our typical winter build up!
  7. So I got my drift camera...and in the next week or so I plan on recording bits and pieces of some of the great rides we have around here. To post video, is it the same as posting a picture....just "manage attachements" and select the file I want to post? I can see the file sizes and types. 1.91 mb doesn't sound like much for a video file. How does one go about posting to a web site like youtube? any other recommended sites where I could post video and have folks go there to view it?
  8. and tires.
  9. You must be using Chrome...mine shows in IE but just shows the html in chrome.
  10. I'm not so sure I would want to belong to a group that would let someone like me as a member:whistling: But....I am glad I do.
  11. This is the 2 1/2 inch reflector that runs from side to side across the back of the Trunk Box. I CAREFULLY tried to lift the reflector off of the black plastic molding that it fits into. BUT....I guess I wasn't careful enough. I cracked it in one spot and broke a corner off it as well. I glued it back together but it still looks like....well.....like it has been broken and glued back together!!!!!! Does anyone have the reflector that would fit an 88 trunk box...or even a later one that has the lights instead of just the reflector? PLEASE? I've invested over $100 in LED's for the trunk (and other spots)...and I don't want it to end up looking like crap.
  12. I'll bring the popcorn!
  13. at 5:00 Dogs were going wild...so I went to investigate. a bear came and tried to get into our garbage box. The first bear was standing on top of the garbage box right outside my window! I could have reached out and touched it! But he couldn't figure out how to get into the box. I tried to get some pictures thru the window but all I got was blurry screen. 6:00 another one came by...by now I was awake enough to figure out how to use the camera. This must just be a cub because .this one is MUCH smaller than the first. The big one just sort of looked at me and couldn't care less. The pics of the smaller one are just below the deck on the ground....no more than 10 feet away from where I was standing taking the pictures.

  15. Now why would you want to do that and ruin a perfectly good bike? Touring bikes are not supposed to sound like they belong on the track. Besides, there's already to many idiots around making noise on bikes!
  16. She's so skinny the wind drag on that monster would pull her right off the bike!
  17. Hope everything works out OK. I know it's tough on you too Tom. Hang in there. Give your wife our best wishes.
  18. EVERYBODY KNOWS FIRST GENS ARE FASTER! Well, at least that's what those of us who own 1st Gens say. 2nd gen owners seem to have a different opinion. I have an 83 restoration project, owned an 84 and ride my 88 It boils down to what you want in a bike. The look of the bikes are completely different. The seating position of each is drastically different with leg and foot positioning. The 1st Gens have a sportier look and feel to them but are very comfortable on long rides. Some people don't like the "feet under" position. The 2nd gen's laid back cruiser feel with more forward foot position is great for those "harley wannabe's" (ohhh... I'm gonna git it for that!") First Gens are approaching 20-30 years old. You have to expect to do some repairs and upgrades, but there is a LOT of help on this forum to accomplish pretty much anything. As to the 2nd Gen....I'll let someone else comment on them. All I know is what I've learned from this site...mainly that over the years, they are basically unchanged other than color. They both share an amazing power plant.
  19. How many miles did you run flat? It looks like you tried to limp home from Alabama!
  20. tools I got, material I gotta buy regardless. Room and Board. No Problem! We've got a pull out couch. Gas from your place? That could be the deal breaker:mo money: I suppose I could go take out a 2nd mortgage.
  21. I just ordered one of those $98 Drift Cameras. Once I get it and have it figured out on how to use it and post video on here I'll show you folks what eastern Ontario riding is all about. Ordered IN CANADA! total price was 110.74 including shipping (that's to Ontario with 13% HST) I know there was another thread on these cameras and the supplier mentioned there did not ship into Canada http://www.visions.ca Sale ends tomorrow
  22. did ya notice everybody giving lots of room. "LOOK OUT IT"S GONNA BLOW!"
  23. My 83 restoration is a blonde. And of course we all know Blondes mean more fun! From the pics I can think of a few bits of safety chrome that you might find yet! Trust me....it will probably NEVER be finished! These folks on here have helped me a lot! If you need new parts...check with Skydoc17 (a member here) first. He's saved me a bunch of money and seems to provide free technical support with all his parts.
  24. Hey if you've got "nothing to do" come on up to our place! I've got a deck to build, 3 outside doors with frames to install,a bathroom to renovate, a patio door that leaks to track down and fix, 3 windows to remove, rebuild the walls around them and re-install. I'm sure we could keep you busy for a week or so:whistling:
