  1. keep an eye on the level. If you have to keep adding fluid regularly, you could have a leaking clutch slave cyl. You may not notice it because it could drip on top of your collector and just burn off. That's what mine was doing and I had to top up every 2 weeks or so. At least that is what I'm assuming because there was never a drop under the bike!!!!
  2. 2009...would it be a warranted item?
  3. The biggest problem you will find with a 2007 is that they are not a 1st Gen! Beyond that I think there was a recall on them .....something about the heads not properly tightened at the factory???????? Welcome to the site! I'm sure someone who actually knows what they are talking about will chime in! Most things can be fixed...but not the fact that it's not a 1st Gen!
  4. Looks ok to me....must have fixed everything up already.
  5. no...just offensive!
  6. Hey Dan! How'd you do when you paid for contractor work in advance?
  7. details, details! I know you folks in the states are always worried about a lawsuit....but around here tissue of any brand is still a kleenex! I bought a brace from Condor...and I think it is just Super. So for our purposes...we could call it a super brace!
  8. ouch hope all works out for you hands that work are kinda nice to have
  9. I totally agree its all about the ride....but too many people "challange" their skills and try to Conquer a section of highway end up dead. I enjoy corners...maybe too much. There were many times I pushed it to the limit and scared myself. All the "what if's" come to mind. Part of the reason I bought a VR was because I enjoyed the sports bikes too much and I wanted to force myself to adopt a more leisurely ride. I still enjoy scraping the pegs but overall it's just enjoying the fresh air, the smells of the country air, and the view. Rarely is it for the adrenalin rush any more.
  10. If MarCarl brings them, does that mean I get a refund on shipping? Sorry....hanging around with Carl too much. The dutch must be rubbing off on me!
  11. watchamean? I speak-ed duh hinglesh the way she is spoke-ed
  12. I love it when my gas mileage is so poor that I use 2 or 3 tanks a day! Tree's are looking good....probably be packing it away in a month or so.
  13. Who is "them"? The voices inside your head?
  14. Bummer! It sounds like the gas might be going out the exhaust. I know there is a cure for that but it involves liberal amounts of solidified H20 for an extended period of time. Lets hope it's not needed to soon. In the mean time I would recommend a couple ounces of sea foam once in a while and extended road trips to monitor the situation.
  15. Never mind....found it right under the search criteria box
  16. Some pages want to load up in a foreign language (Catlin) Google then asks me if I would like it translated to english. There is a drop down list of languages...but english is greyed out. How can I make english the default language?
  17. Seems to still be VERY common. Ridiculous shipping costs very often. But....like most of us here in Canada, we have had to pay huge brokerage fees when we receive an international package thru UPS....as well as taxes and sometimes duty. Buyer Beware....and Be Aware!
  18. I'd strongly recommend Skydoc for most parts you need. I got Progressives from him and they included very easy to follow step by step instructions Not only decent prices but he's usually ready willing and VERY able to help out with any technical info.
  19. 21 lbs of air in the front is the max. the manual calls for so if you are still bottoming out your springs are probably shot. A set of progressive springs will probably help that. Next to tires, progressive springs are probably the single best thing you can do to improve your handling too. a super brace helps handling but won't do anything about bottoming out.
  20. Wonderful illustration!
  21. Friesman is talking about the integrated armrests that are part of the trunk box. but if you are asking about "add on" arm rests, those from a Mk II (1300) will not fit a Mk I (1200) You can see the arm rests (both types) in the picture below.
  22. VGoose, you probably have forgotten more about these bikes than I know....but if the AIS is Cracked or has a seam leaking air, would that not cause too much air into the mixture? I know having the air box off causes it to run like junk...because of too much air.
  23. That's the pre-load I was talking about I knew it was about that depth of oil...and OF COURSE you have to check with the springs OUT. DUH!
  24. How much preload did you put in? That is determined by the length of the spacers at the top I don't know about the number of oz. but the oil should be something like 4" from the top (with the springs in) Someone can jump in and make correct what the distance from the top should be.
