  1. I love the blondes! cute kid too!
  2. Getting it back together is EASY. Getting it back together and WORKING is the tough part.
  3. Interesting that one veered so far north compared to the rest. Seeing as that was also the shortest flight I guess that was by accident and not by design.
  4. It could also be the clutch switch. If it doesn't recognize the clutch is in it won't engage starter (EDIT) Above applies only if in gear) If it is in gear it won't start with sidestand down period...unless the switch is faulty.
  5. Use the front brake as much as you feel comfortable with UNTIL you are almost stopped. then stay off it. I was having a real hard time (especially with my wife on the back) then I started to make a point of making sure the front wheel was straight and I stayed off the front brake at very slow speeds. I know the brakes are linked (unless the PO unlinked them) but staying off the front brake made a huge difference for me. As to pushing the bike around. I don't even try unless I'm straddling it. I would recommend watching the "Ride like a pro" video. It teaches about friction zone and watching where you want to go. Helped me there too! You'll love the bike once you get used to it. But you should learn how to pick it up too!
  6. aw shucks nothing a little duct tape and baling twine can't fix. and of course add some SEAFOAM:rasberry:
  7. I smoked from age 13 to 38. The chemical addiction only takes 2 weeks to be free of. After that it is strictly the physical habit. I still have the occasional dream in which I'm smoking....and about 10 years after I quit I caught myself patting my shirt pocket as if feeling to make sure I had my pack of smokes!!! It's a tough one....but then I've been told so are you! When the urge gets real strong just go :bang head: you'll be too sore and dizzy to worry about smoking!
  8. Uh.....what year what is?????
  9. I posted it with a picture...then it came thru so small I had to edit it to enlarge it and repost. Reworded the post while I was at it. I do that a lot...post then edit. It's the same thing in life...I think of a snappy comeback 10 min. after the conversation is over.
  10. Well written and I'm looking forward to reading the entire series! I ride because it is FUN even at reasonable speeds. Hour after hour on a superslab which are relatively straight and flat, is not what I would consider interesting or fun! Also, I am a marshmallow butt. By the end of a tank of gas I'm ready to stretch my legs for a few minutes. I would imagine that the rallies or poker run type of thing would be more suited to my type of riding...although I've never taken part in anything like that either.
  11. Hey Carbon One.....is this how it REALLY happened????
  12. I'm not sure but it seems to me that membership on this forum can be dangerous! It seems a lot of the accidents we hear about are happening to our members:whistling: Good wishes for the 3 affected lately and that all recover quickly AND LETS HOPE IT"S NOT CONTAGIOUS!!!!!!

  18. so share! What was your "whoops"??? The best way to learn is from OTHER peoples mistakes. It costs us a lot less that way!

  22. Carl and his lovely wife stopped by to deliver my T shirts. (Thanks for getting that all together Don! (XV1100SE) They had to get to their daughter's but had enough time to stop in and have a cup of coffee with us anyway. Great to see Marca again....and well....Carl too I guess! Unfortunately they were in the cage so I couldn't ride with them....but I still sent them on their way via a nice scenic back route.
