If I had a memory I'd post more in the technical threads. trouble is....I might have done a proceedure...or know how....but can't remember the details, so I end up not posting. But I make up for it with other "useful" posts:whistling:

“Fiscal Cliff” put in a clear perspective which explains why so many of our American colleagues are dead against tax increases of any kind. Lesson # 1 * U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000 * Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000 * New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000 * National debt: $14,271,000,000,000 * Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000 Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget: * Annual family income: $21,700 * Money the family spent: $38,200 * New debt on the credit card: $16,500 * Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710 * Total budget cuts so far: $38.50 Have you got it???? OK now, Lesson # 2: Here's another way to look at the Debt Ceiling: Let's say, You come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood.... and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings. What do you think you should do ...... Raise the ceilings, or remove the crap? Tough decision, Eh?????

I would think that anything that fires up strong emotions if there are conflicting opinions is off limits..such as politics, religion, the "rights" of one group over another or nationalism. Of course to keep it "G-rated" so no dirty jokes or foul language. It would be nice if we could debate "hot button" topics...but Freebird said it very well when he said discussion of such issues will not change anybody's mind. But it would digress to a base level that would be ugly to see and would accomplish nothing other than to pit one faction against the other. ...so why allow it? We HAVE seen it happen here...and I'd rather stay amicable with you all than to stir up contentions because of my strong religious beliefs, or my lack of political views or stand on gun control are different than yours. Besides....your opinion, if different than mine, is obviously wrong!

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I do not celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Easter or birthdays. (pm me if you want to know the scriptural reasons why...please don't discuss it here). But I will never take offence to anyone who wishes me well! why should I? It doesn't matter if I don't agree with them. They could wish me happy Hunakkuh or Asalhka Puja Day......they are only trying to be nice. If that is offensive to some then they are really unbalanced in their beliefs. It would be different if they, knowing my beliefs, wish me a merry christmas with a snide attitude but that is seldom the case. -
From the pictures the guy must have been able to get slowed down. That's I would think it would be a lot worse if it was a 50 mph impact. I remember taking an test ride on a "seat belt sled". It was an incline roller coaster where you got into a car seat and slid about 6-8 feet along a track at about a 35 degree angle. You only got up to about 5 Mph and stopped dead at the bottom. WHAT A JOLT!!!!! Just shows it doesn't really take a lot to really shake you up! Glad to hear everyone is relatively OK.

there's a few of these. Pretty amazing stuff. I think my favourite is the one with steel balls flying thru the air and striking the strings to make the tone. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjBDfZZQz54]Incredible Machine Full Version "AKA Pipe dream" - YouTube[/ame]

Back when I had a diesel 6.2 GMC I was disappointed in the gas milage. I was told the difference is in towing. I got the same milage empty or while towing my house trailer.....but a gas engine would go form 20 mpg to 12 mpg while towing.

Or....just a long shot....it's been running on 3 cyl and for some unknown reason, it decided to kick in on all 4???? Maybe the colder temps caused a bad connection to "heal"??? From what I understand ...(although I could be wrong...somebody correct me if I am)....you can have the carbs sync'ed and still only be running on 3.

One Sunday, in counting the money in the weekly offering, the pastor of a small church found a pink envelope containing $1,000. It happened again the next week! The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw an elderly woman put the distinctive pink envelope on the plate. This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her. "Ma'am, I couldn't help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate," he stated. Why, yes," she replied, "every week my son sends me money, and I give some of it to the church." The pastor replied, "That's wonderful. But $1,000 is a lot; are you sure you can afford this? How much does he send you?" The elderly woman answered, "$10,000 a week." The pastor was amazed. "Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living? "He is a veterinarian," she answered. "That's an honorable profession, but I had no idea they made that much money," the pastor said.. "Where does he practice?" The woman answered proudly, "In Nevada ... He has two cat houses, one in Las Vegas and one in Reno"

When I was in India recently, I saw a sign that said, 'English speaking taxi driver'. I thought to myself, "What a brilliant idea. Why don't we have them in Canada?"

We had freezing fog and freezing rain on Thursday, Snow overnight Friday. Cleared up now but salt and sand on the roads....I think it's time to admit it's time.
