  1. I have one available. Original cost was $1700 or close to that. I was never used....until I tried to give it to a close friend and he tried it for 2 weeks...but couldn't get used to it. $200 takes it (plus shipping) PM me if interested
  2. WHERE?????? Inquiring minds want to know!
  3. The top section broke right where it exits the bottom section. If I can get that allen screw out then the top section will only be about 1/2" shorter than it was before. Would that be enough of a difference to "unmatch" it?
  4. My antennae broke. I have CB plus the stock Mark II am/fm/cassette Between the 2 pics you can see what kind I have. It broke where the top piece fits into the lower piece...just above the "coil"?? (bulged part in technical terms) It looks like it should just be a very small allen key but I can't find one to fit. What I'm worried about. If I do manage to find a new antennae or if I buy one, do I have to do some "magic" to match (or rematch) it to the CB. Will it damage the CB if I use it as is? If I buy a new antennae, how much should I expect to pay? And yes...they are 2 very similar dogs...one in each saddle bag

    First ride

shame I didn't know you were coming....I'm about 40 min to Odessa...maybe less.
  6. I live in amazing country. I went for my first decent ride of the season this afternoon. I did a 2 1/2 hour loop and during that time I must have passed at least 8 lakes, countless beaver ponds, saw some nice rolling hills and valleys, rock outcrops , deer, turkeys and LOTS OF TWISTIES!!! I kept thinking I should stop and take some pictures for you....but I just didn't want to stop riding! Next time I'm going with the Drift camera fired up. I'll edit out the "average" parts and just show you the exceptional. (that will be tough!) Then I can share how privileged I am to live where I do. Marcarl has been here....but he didn't get to ride. Next time I hope Carl! you know....there are advantages to living out in the middle of nowhere!
  7. And don't forget the continental kit front and rear
  8. I was paying $800 per year. That's just liability...no collision or comp. I asked about putting another bike on the road....ANOTHER $800. I pointed out that my wife does not have a motorcycle license so only one bike at a time would be on the road....but no matter....full price anyway. Something seems wrong with that. Now...I have my 88VR and my 2013 Nissan Sentra insured (full coverage on car) for $1528
  9. I got one from Pioneer Motorsports at Don's MD 2 years ago. I think it's stainless...and comes with the bracket and longer allan bolts. It mounts on the same holes as either the clutch or front brake reservoir. It pivots on a single mount so it stays vertical (on a single plane) It came with 2 different rubber inserts to accommodate different diameter cups. My only complaint is that it's not deep enough. Some taller mugs and water bottles end up top heavy. I paid $30 for it.
  10. so how are you going to get her on the bike? A trailer perhaps? It's a lot easier with our Pom crosses. We put one in each saddle bag and the "baby" goes on a papoose type carrier on my wife's chest. Somehow I don't think a lab-roti cross will fit in a saddle bag!!!!
  11. I was thinining they would be raw!
  12. 2- 7" 1- 11" please
  13. so how does a stator cooler work? How much are they?
  14. On my own Jimmy the tire guy told me I should not only change all four at once....but that I should ensure they are all from the same batch. He said there could be minor variations between molds and the diameter could be slightly different. He told me unless the tires were matched I should not ever use bull low on pavement or risk damage.
  15. Thanks...but that's only good for 17 digit VIN numbers...not motor serial numbers I called the stealer...who called Yamaha and they said it was from an 88
  16. Good idea! I guess you could say that is thinking outside the box!!! I just used a "T" extension on the "under the trunk" type.
  17. I have an 85 for sale with a 1300 engine...obviously a newer year. I have the original motor but the PO switched them because of the 2nd gear issue. Can anyone tell me how to tell what year it is from the serial number. The serial number on the motor starts with "1UM 005 xxx"
  18. When I got my Trailer from near Chicago (Illinois) he had a plate on it. Can't see any reason to buy one unless he had to.
  19. Didn't see any 1st gens....I guess they were all out front.
  20. From what I have been told in the past they will not fit. Never tried it myself.
  21. Sorry for your loss Dan...but you will see her again in the resurrection.
  22. Notice it was John Deere Green? can you say "redneck?"
  23. I just went thru all the pages and I guess I missed this before. 1) Me chasing my beautiful bride (even though we have been married for over 30 years!) 2) Yvette and the rest of the family 3) rebuilding the living room floor last year
