  1. One of them drifted wide on the corner into oncoming lane??? Surprised you don't hear of that on the Dragon.
  2. Gary, did you sent Mark pictures of the exhaust? It's pretty obvious its not lined up...jig or no jig! It's one thing to say "it's not right" but after showing him pictures, if he cares about customer service, he should be willing to do something about it.
  3. pay for it now....or pay for it bigger, later! Behave and get better! Maybe you can go back to sawing your thumb in two???? nevermind!
  4. MARRIAGE/MARIJUANA For those who haven't heard, Washington State just passed both laws - gay marriage and legalized marijuana. The fact that gay marriage and marijuana were legalized on the same day makes perfect biblical sense because Leviticus 20:13 says, "If a man lies with another man they should both be stoned." We just hadn't interpreted it quite this way before!
  5. Well, I've learned a few important lessons. I strapped the camera on my helmet and went on a 3 hour ride...to show you folks the great rides around eastern Ontario. 1) the speed seems greatly exaggerated. The video looks like I was flying. I was doing 65 mph mostly...but it looks like 100! 2) The camera really straightens out the curves. There are some really wonderful twisties...one spot beside a lake where it's hard to do more than 15-20 ....yet it looks tame on the video. I draged floorboards a couple of times but you can't see it. Same with going uphill. One spot I climbed a few hundred feet but can't tell unless you catch where I looked to the side and notice the lake receding below you. 3) I should have saved the videos (I had about 40 short clips) BEFORE I renamed them. when I got home I hooked up the camera to look at them (videos were numbered file names) and renamed them to the identify the location where they were taken. Now they are just GONE! I've tried several ways of looking at the memory card but I can't see the renamed files anywhere. That's a real shame...cause they were the best ones! Oh well.....gives me an excuse for going for another ride.
  6. Thanks Don.....paypal sent a drop in the bucket....but enough drops will still end up a shower.
  7. Thanks Rick....good stuff!
  8. From what I can see, I am in full agreement with the OP. Why should anyone have to pay a restocking fee to the company for a mistake they made? That's just obviously so wrong! Unless they contest whose fault it is. For example, you ordered the wrong part number and actually got what you ordered. Then it's your fault. But if they sent the wrong part and you were 100% in the right...then to charge you for their mistake is just wrong. Period.
  9. I camp at Don's...cheaper....more social....suits me just fine! Mind you....after a couple of days a shower might be nice!
  10. edited question and bump
  11. YES you want to compress the shocks. It makes sense that if the shocks are fully extended, and you hit a bump, they could compress and loosen the straps momentarily....but that might be long enough especially if they are hooked rather than tied! also....when the shocks rebound, combined with more bumps, it could be enough to snap the ties. (that happened with my atv!) If the shocks are compressed already, the bike will remain still and move as one with the trailer. Ditto on the front wheel chocks to prevent side to side movement.
  12. I've got a drift X170. I've got the option of recording video as AVI, MOV or MJEG As a test, I shot about 2 min of video and AVI ended up at over 42MB !!!!!!! Which format is the smallest? I searched how to post to youtube....but do I have to reformat the video to another format to speed up upload? 2 min video took over 7 min to upload. It will take forever to upload highlites of a 2 hour ride!
  13. I know you will be happy to see us .....but isn't that a little extreme? you do know they have blue pills for that right?
  14. ahh.....a legend in his own mind:stickpoke:
  15. most folks forget to add extra water and food for pets. And of course cash....debit and credit probably won't be working.
  16. You only need one bed for Marca....you get the couch!
  17. I have one available. Original cost was $1700 or close to that. I was never used....until I tried to give it to a close friend and he tried it for 2 weeks...but couldn't get used to it. $200 takes it (plus shipping) PM me if interested
  18. WHERE?????? Inquiring minds want to know!
  19. The top section broke right where it exits the bottom section. If I can get that allen screw out then the top section will only be about 1/2" shorter than it was before. Would that be enough of a difference to "unmatch" it?
  20. My antennae broke. I have CB plus the stock Mark II am/fm/cassette Between the 2 pics you can see what kind I have. It broke where the top piece fits into the lower piece...just above the "coil"?? (bulged part in technical terms) It looks like it should just be a very small allen key but I can't find one to fit. What I'm worried about. If I do manage to find a new antennae or if I buy one, do I have to do some "magic" to match (or rematch) it to the CB. Will it damage the CB if I use it as is? If I buy a new antennae, how much should I expect to pay? And yes...they are 2 very similar dogs...one in each saddle bag

    First ride

shame I didn't know you were coming....I'm about 40 min to Odessa...maybe less.
  22. I live in amazing country. I went for my first decent ride of the season this afternoon. I did a 2 1/2 hour loop and during that time I must have passed at least 8 lakes, countless beaver ponds, saw some nice rolling hills and valleys, rock outcrops , deer, turkeys and LOTS OF TWISTIES!!! I kept thinking I should stop and take some pictures for you....but I just didn't want to stop riding! Next time I'm going with the Drift camera fired up. I'll edit out the "average" parts and just show you the exceptional. (that will be tough!) Then I can share how privileged I am to live where I do. Marcarl has been here....but he didn't get to ride. Next time I hope Carl! you know....there are advantages to living out in the middle of nowhere!
  23. And don't forget the continental kit front and rear
  24. I was paying $800 per year. That's just liability...no collision or comp. I asked about putting another bike on the road....ANOTHER $800. I pointed out that my wife does not have a motorcycle license so only one bike at a time would be on the road....but no matter....full price anyway. Something seems wrong with that. Now...I have my 88VR and my 2013 Nissan Sentra insured (full coverage on car) for $1528
