  1. picture didn't work but that leaves it up to our imagination.... scary!
  2. That's been tried before. Not sure it is so effective on a bike. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYshHRVBPEE]Crashproof Bike Safety System - YouTube[/ame]
  3. you did mean OPPOSITE to where it stops right?
  4. I balanced my own front tire by mounting the axle on 2 jack stands with the wheel freely rotating. Then just spun the tire lightly and watched where it bottomed out. Did that a few times to confirm that is the heaviest point. I stuck a 1/2 oz of weight on the opposite side and spun it again. I kept doing that, exchanging heavier weights as necessary until it would stop at a random spot each time....indicating it was in balance. I got it close....still feel's a bit off at 85mph....but then I don't go there very often.
  5. My first thought was so it tightens as the wheel turns, which of course is clockwise on the right (right hand threads) and counter-clockwise on the left (left hand threads) Now, as I was patting myself on the back for such a brilliant answer, I realized that theory would be correct if there was only one center nut....but not when there are 4-5 lug nuts.:think:
  6. we Canadians pay all sorts of different forms of taxes. licence plates gas tax prov.sales tax federal sales tax income tax property tax Capital gains tax land transfer tax liquor tax cigarette tax import duty automobile air conditioner tax (on new purchase) gas guzzler tax (on new purchase) and probably a few more I can't remember. in fact, I read somewhere that when you consider every form of tax, we do nothing but pay taxes until near the end of June. (so pretty close to 50% of total income) After that we are working for ourselves. But as stated....MOST medical is free. A heart attack might cost $75 for the ambulance.
  7. Those Tonka wheels are for sure for HAND cart....not high speed. So you could unload your canoe from your trailer and put it on another trailer to get it to the water?

  9. Sorry we won't see you there....but totally understandable. Started planning your leaf lookers ride yet? (it's never too early you know!)
  10. One of them drifted wide on the corner into oncoming lane??? Surprised you don't hear of that on the Dragon.
  11. Gary, did you sent Mark pictures of the exhaust? It's pretty obvious its not lined up...jig or no jig! It's one thing to say "it's not right" but after showing him pictures, if he cares about customer service, he should be willing to do something about it.
  12. pay for it now....or pay for it bigger, later! Behave and get better! Maybe you can go back to sawing your thumb in two???? nevermind!
  13. MARRIAGE/MARIJUANA For those who haven't heard, Washington State just passed both laws - gay marriage and legalized marijuana. The fact that gay marriage and marijuana were legalized on the same day makes perfect biblical sense because Leviticus 20:13 says, "If a man lies with another man they should both be stoned." We just hadn't interpreted it quite this way before!
  14. Well, I've learned a few important lessons. I strapped the camera on my helmet and went on a 3 hour ride...to show you folks the great rides around eastern Ontario. 1) the speed seems greatly exaggerated. The video looks like I was flying. I was doing 65 mph mostly...but it looks like 100! 2) The camera really straightens out the curves. There are some really wonderful twisties...one spot beside a lake where it's hard to do more than 15-20 ....yet it looks tame on the video. I draged floorboards a couple of times but you can't see it. Same with going uphill. One spot I climbed a few hundred feet but can't tell unless you catch where I looked to the side and notice the lake receding below you. 3) I should have saved the videos (I had about 40 short clips) BEFORE I renamed them. when I got home I hooked up the camera to look at them (videos were numbered file names) and renamed them to the identify the location where they were taken. Now they are just GONE! I've tried several ways of looking at the memory card but I can't see the renamed files anywhere. That's a real shame...cause they were the best ones! Oh well.....gives me an excuse for going for another ride.
  15. Thanks Don.....paypal sent a drop in the bucket....but enough drops will still end up a shower.
  16. Thanks Rick....good stuff!
  17. From what I can see, I am in full agreement with the OP. Why should anyone have to pay a restocking fee to the company for a mistake they made? That's just obviously so wrong! Unless they contest whose fault it is. For example, you ordered the wrong part number and actually got what you ordered. Then it's your fault. But if they sent the wrong part and you were 100% in the right...then to charge you for their mistake is just wrong. Period.
  18. I camp at Don's...cheaper....more social....suits me just fine! Mind you....after a couple of days a shower might be nice!
  19. edited question and bump
  20. YES you want to compress the shocks. It makes sense that if the shocks are fully extended, and you hit a bump, they could compress and loosen the straps momentarily....but that might be long enough especially if they are hooked rather than tied! also....when the shocks rebound, combined with more bumps, it could be enough to snap the ties. (that happened with my atv!) If the shocks are compressed already, the bike will remain still and move as one with the trailer. Ditto on the front wheel chocks to prevent side to side movement.
  21. I've got a drift X170. I've got the option of recording video as AVI, MOV or MJEG As a test, I shot about 2 min of video and AVI ended up at over 42MB !!!!!!! Which format is the smallest? I searched how to post to youtube....but do I have to reformat the video to another format to speed up upload? 2 min video took over 7 min to upload. It will take forever to upload highlites of a 2 hour ride!
  22. I know you will be happy to see us .....but isn't that a little extreme? you do know they have blue pills for that right?
  23. ahh.....a legend in his own mind:stickpoke:
  24. most folks forget to add extra water and food for pets. And of course cash....debit and credit probably won't be working.
