    Mosport Race Track

via 401= less than 3 hours Hwy 2 is most scenic...often along the lake....more population=more delays Take a look at the route from Gananoque #32 to #15 to Crosby, #42 to Westport, #36 to Bolingbroke then Maberly. Maberly is on #7 ...you can follow #7 down thru Peterborough and then cross country to Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsport park) I think your route planner is allowing a lot more time than needed. food for thought is all

I was suggesting the 401 from the Gananoque Bridge (north of Watertown NY) all the way. (no tolls except at border bridge) It would take you about 40 min to drive north to #7 and then the road slowly works its way more than 1/2 way south again. If time matters that isn't a good choice. It's an OK road...but not all that special for biking. IF you go by Niagara Falls the 407 is the only toll road you might hit (besides the bridge at the border). I would avoid it because it isn't a cash toll. They take a picture of your plate, then send you the bill. First timers are charged a fee to set up the account, plus if you don't have a transponder you get charged an extra $3. The first time I went on it I got nailed with all those fee. I went from beginning (in Burlington) to the end (in Oshawa)....and it ended up costing me about $25!!!! Time at the border totally depends on the time of day, day of week etc. Most times it's about 15 min.....other times it can be 2 hours! If you are coming across on the Labour Day weekend, I would expect a delay.
  3. Contrary to popular opinion...there is more to the world than the USA ..... and MOST of the world uses metric!!!!!! (get the popcorn ready!)

I often ride #7 to Peterborough then jump on the highway from there (135) Hwy 7 takes you thru every little town and is 80 km (55mph) for the most part...but still lots of slow downs. If getting there matters....then Cross at the international Bridge and just take the 401 all the way. Limit is 100 km ....but traffic usually moves just under 120.
  5. Hey Dano! I'll take the chrome license plate frame off your hands. And I think Paysaw needs some muffler clamps. I PM'ed him to make sure he saw this thread so I'm sure he'll chime in
  6. hmmm.....man of few words! tires, fork oil, steering head bearing, tire pressure
  7. I get off the bike and look once in awhile. Still working.....GOOD! Not working.....BAD! Low tech....works for me!
  8. so are you bragging or complaining? Not a first gen....so can't handle the curves:whistling:
  9. I've always said I would never join a group that would allow people like me there! But this bunch is a special breed!
  10. I think without....but maybe a back rest would be better.
  11. pull your plugs and take a look. Better than guessing which way to adjust. should be a gray color. If they are black you are rich....if they are very light grey to white, you are too lean. I'd check for vacuum leaks too. Spray a little either or open a propane torch ( unlit!) in and around the carb boots. If the idle jumps at all you have a vacuum leak.
  12. Thanks a bunch...that's what I needed to know.
  13. I used to be in the sign business. If the vinyl is not too old and brittle, a heat gun used gently, is the easiest way (think hair dryer setting) If the graphic is old...more than 3-4 years .then I wouldn't worry too much about the paint. you will be able to see the graphic outline once it is removed anyway because the covered paint will be brighter than the sun faded exposed paint. There are tools you can get that are rotating rubber fingers ....and adhesive remover type products work well too.
  14. While I've been trying to sort things out I searched the site and found this diagram. Seems simple enough. So....could someone please tell me if I'm right here....... in the diagram attached....the key switched power goes to terminal #86 and the fused power comes from the battery to the #30 terminal Then run a ground thru the operating switch to terminal #85 Does that mean the passing lights will only operate if the key is on?
  15. You know.....I just disconnected the ground....seems OK so far. So now I need to find a hot wire when the key is on. I don't want the driving lights HOT...even thru a switch . IT would give me more peace of mind to run thru a keyed power line. I read about hooking into the headlight wire...but wouldn't the driving lights put too much extra drain on that circuit? Same thing if I hook into the 10a. "ACC" circuit I already have a rear end full of running lights on that circuit. SO....can anybody tell me a keyed hot wire that the driving lights won't over amp?
  16. I aways ordered safety glass in my lenses...but my prescription got so thick that they told me they really wanted to avoid it for my comfort. I ended up with a plastic lens....I think Cryzan????? I'm not easy on my lenses but these really hold their own. I've had these lenses for 3 years and only recently have noticed a bit of "hazing"....no major scratches or other problems. I would not hesitate to get them again....and they are MUCH lighter than glass.
  17. Please look at Post #5....that's where I'm at now.

    Movie Camera

I picked up a Drift X 170 You can get them refurbished for about $100 Not spectacular...but it does a good job. It comes with a remote control you can strap on your wrist as a few different mounting straps, bits and pieces. You can get about 3-4 hours recording time.
  19. yep...just me pms-ing I guess. This place is one of my main sources of entertainment and I just don't want to miss anything! Hmmm.....that sounds pretty sad now don't it! I gotta get out and ride more.
  20. Let me be the first to say Congratulations!
  21. The only thing that I would do is put a cover over the bike and try not to park all by yourself. MOST people in parks are respectful of belongings...I see unattended camp sites all the time.
  22. Not sure about your area but most over the air tv stations are transmitting in digital so the traditional antennae's won't work unless you have a converter box too.
  23. Not sure but I think they are a kind of Sausage....best done on the Bar-B I heard they are a spicy bunch.
  24. It might be only me but I really hate text type posts! It is one large mass of letters and hard to read. I need punctuation, end of line, paragraphs.....SOMETHING but one solid block of letters where you have to decipher where one thought stops and the next one starts! But ....now I've finished with my un-solicited opinion.....welcome to the site!
  25. That cover wouldn't work for Miles...you have to wait for the bike to cool down before using it. By that time, Miles is back on the road!
