why is it that electrical stuff works just fine when you bench test it....and the wires feeding the install test out good....but then when you put it together nothing works!
Take it apart and bench test the light.....works
check the feed wires and ground....OK
put it back together....nothing works!
Not a real question....just venting!
Obviously SOMETHING is wrong.
I know the one I posted from ebay is pretty cheap.
I use elastic bands to hold my phone in place cause there is no way I'd trust the clamps to hold it!
Exactly what I would love to do....but my wife won't go:crying:
Keep on posting....I guess some of us have to do trips like that vicariously thru others!
Glad the rain stopped for you!
I was looking around the Yamaha site....I saw this and it is identical to what I have bought on ebay.....here's both links for comparison

Exactly the same from what I can see.
Start with the obvious....it couldn't be that the increased rpm and speed caused enough wind and engine noise to activate one of the mikes....thereby "cutting out" the radio etc?
the guy I sold a bike to told me there was no oil in the bike so he added some.
The next morning he said he had a "huge" oil puddle on the driveway.
When I checked everything I found that It DID have oil in it..
It must have been over-full from the PO (I bought it ....hardly even looked at it and resold it) and the oil level window was completely black so he ASSUMED it had no oil in it and added a bunch more.
When I drained it to the proper level, I DRAINED more then the regular volume when doing a full oil change!!!
So it had more than twice what it should have had.
No wonder he complained that he had an oil leak!!!!
The oil leak was the o-ring on the timing inspection hole in the left side case....easy fix....but he decided he was too busy to own a bike anyway!
I was trying to warn Ben of an impending crash ....by pushing the turn signal cancel button instead of CB Transmit button.
Thankfully he didn't need me after all!
Seeing as I AM a witness, I can make a suggestion!
we all just have to wear a shirt and tie, and carry a literature case?
But we would have to be prepared to leave the property on short notice:whistling:
Geee......if you hadn't spent so much time of "every one elses" bike you could have done some work on yours!
So now I really feel guilty.
But you beat me home.
I had rain going to Marcarls's on Thursday and again home today....but the rest was GRRREAT!
