My wife and I had plans to go visit her mother (about 200 miles each way) about 2 days after I got back from the International.
I had just been away for a week and ridden just over 2600 miles .
I asked her an innocent question...."wanna take the bike?"
She got very upset and said "that was the worst thing you could have said....I had hoped you had got that out of your system!"
Now I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box....but I really don't understand that at all!
We took the cage!
Don't know if this would help your issue but a lot of us 1st Genners go with beefier fork braces.
Condor (on this site) was taking orders for some not too long ago.
Made a big difference in handling on mine.
At one end of the campground was a sign that said "No Trespassing by order of the DNR...UN-EXPLODED ORDINANCES"
I know I could feel the vibration from the trains going by.
Could really have a bang up time there!
If it had anything to do with blueberries I deny everything!
Besides, my wife got the blue "grease" stains out of my orange IR shirt so the evidence is gone!
Here's the service manual.

You can find a wealth of information if you click on the menu bar > Then scroll down to >
You can find manuals, schematics and a whole lot of other information.
Spend the $12...Best investment you can make for your bike.
I wonder if we can do another poll. If we were to have an international in Canada ....how many folks would be willing to come north of the border?
It is my limited experience that a LOT of Americans just don't want to cross the border.
yeah....I've made a few of those....but that's not a payment to any random member....it should be thru the "Donate" button of the menu (top right on mine)
So it goes to Don and probably the VR special events fund.
Actually....where DOES it go Don? I know you could probably keep your Harley in parts on mine donations alone!
The Canadians at the campground?
We weren't there long enough to cause any problems.
I don't think Saddlebum has caught up with his sleep yet!
"Chug, chug. chug, WOOOEEEWOOO !
Not really accurate...more like a screaming jet engine!
all the riding to, from and during the IR I noticed probably 10-12 bikes for sale in people's yards....All of them except 2 were Harleys.
That's gotta tell you something.
Either
-they are the most sold bke (More Harleys than all other bikes combined) ....Nope!
- they appreciate in value and people are cashing in their investments (Naw.....overpriced to start with)
-They buy them but thendecide that they just don't live up to the hype. (More than likely)
-They have to sell them after developing "lumberjack finger" which is circulation problems in the fingers from all the vibration. (possible)
-They have a buddy with a Venture and gave themselves a slap on the forehead and said "I coulda had a V-4!"
Got home about 10:15 tonight. Total distance travelled (including rally rides etc) was. 2630 miles.
I think my problem was just the battery.
It seemed fine all the way home. Mind you I don't have all the incandecent running lights or the 55w. driving lights hooked up!!!
I'll be ordering LED for as many bulbs as possible after I recover from this trip.
th bike bike is still running.
put a new battery ....r seems to be holding its own
still running with nothing extra on to draw
Marcarl broke down in Sault St Marie
Thinks ot migjt be rear wheel bearing
He's with saddlebum
.
He insisted I continue home
Only 2. 1/2 hours from home so I should be fine
Thanks for the offer....we are going up and around the top of the lake to Sault St Marie and then east from there.
I"m going to buy a battery tender and charge it up at every opportunity (lunch, overnight etc) Get it as far as I can anyway....I'll keep you posted.
