  1. I've told the story how my LG GPS was almost two years old (1 year warrentee) when I dropped it. The service rep gave me an account number for shipping to Toronto (150 miles away). It was picked up on Monday....and returned 2 days later on Wed!!!! (shipping paid by them) They put a new screen on it..no charge. It's still going... almost 8 years old now. Now that's what I call customer service. Since then I have bought 2 fridges, Washer, Dryer, Plasma TV, and Computer monitor...ALL LG.
  2. Yep...that just about says it.
  3. What tongue weight are you running at? I've always been told 20 lbs is the target...but you must be way over that!
  4. yeah...that's what happens when you get old!
  5. I found the problem...it was a program called " savenshare" installed to look for and link keywords like buy, credit, shop, pay etc. When it found them it created a pop up to advertising related to that keyword. All fixed now.
  6. Well, I ran a scan, McAfee found the 2 adware programs, so I quarantined them and deleted them....and the links still show up!
  7. McAfee found 2 "adware" programs. That's what I get for going to torrent type sites
  8. gotta be something on my computer. I'm running a full scan as we speak.(type?)
  9. Is it just my computer or what? On Saddlebum's thread about his Garmin, When I typed in the word "credit cards" it mysteriously placed a link (blue text, underlined and active url) on those words to a credit agency. In the thread for Harbor Freight being hacked, there was a link on the words "on line payment" EDIT: Then it just did it to this thread with "computer"
  10. Hey Ben, Just a thought..... A lot of credit cards give you extended warrantee. If it comes with a one year, if you use the card it goes to 2 years. Might be worth checking out.
  11. Sorry to hear about your father Wayne. It's a shame you were away....but there is never a good time for a loved one to die. But the good news is that you will see him again in the resurrection. (Acts 24:15) Are you going to post any pic's of the "Oh Wow" spots?
  12. got me there! maybe a piston pump instead of a rotary pump?? I don't know...but I know the pump clicks as it works
  13. fuel pump class only runs when the key is in the ACC position...and then you have to push the buttons...You can select "Auto" but that just shuts down the pump when the hi, med, or lo pressure has been achieved. It won't pump it up again unless you push the button
  14. Give it a good heavy dose of seafoam. Today's gas is so bad these bikes tend to plug up. I put in a few ounces every 2nd or 3rd tank. If you are going to let the bike sit for any length of time (2 weeks) or more you should put stabilizer in it and even better, find NON ethanal gas. The ethanol breaks down and leaves a waxy residue that can plug the carbs. Up here about the only ethanol free gas is premium...so that's what I use if it's going to sit. You might think about changing the fuel filter....or if the bike was sitting for awhile you could have crud in the tank.
  15. They must have bigger stones to ride with a bike as unstable as those!!!!! Especially with no hands
  16. Nothing a little plastex and a rattle can can't fix! Good to hear you guys are OK. Do your homework on the value of your bike....insurance will try to say it's an old bike and not worth much.....understandable as that is their business...to make money.
  17. you could probably contour the gel pad so it's nice and cooshie on the butt but reduce the thickness at the horn. I would think it would reduce the effect of the horn.
  18. Congrats on your anniversary! Hope you have many, many more!

    Go figure!!

I had a similar issue. One washer slides OVER the axle and one only fits as far as the shoulder at the bottom of the threads. Played with that thing for about an hour and just couldn't get the axle back in.... Finally my wife came out to see how I was doing....and together WE figured that out.
  20. OK... found it.....I saw where you had considered drilling out the oil hole a little larger. Did you? Would you recommend it?
  21. Thanks Squid! Now.....I've heard about cooling kits for high output stators....what are they and how do they work. (Please don't anybody say they are a device used to cool the stator and they work pretty good) gotta cya with this bunch!
  22. Will a stator from an 84 or 85 (Mk 1) fit my 88 ?(Mk II)
  23. If the rear reservoir is overfull I've hear of the rear brake locking up. The fluid heats up and expands and puts pressure on the brakes.
  24. Fuses are under the false gas tank cover. All you need to do is undo the bolt/screw just behind the gas filler spout and slide the cover ahead about 1 " and it will lift off. I think the same fuse is for the headlights and the tail lights so if your headlight is working...I would look for a connection/ground problem. If you have the original glass fuses they are known to have issues with age. Most folks change out the fuse box with one like Skydoc17 (a member here) offers.
  25. You must have been running on 3 cylinders! It's surprising how well they will run on just 3....but at 110km you could still be in 4th gear and climbing fast!
