  1. Perhaps a stupid question but wouldn't it create a vacuum, increasing the breathings thru the motor and creating false adjustments on the carbs?
  2. A visit to the Dentist office is a piece of cake! Now a visit to my mother in law's home is a different story! I
  3. Its the 2nd button from the left, center row on the "key" fob. Just below the optical scanner security ignition switch. One thing I really like is the low speed gyro auto balance function!
  4. We Canucks love this place so much we pay over 30% more to be part of the family
  5. How do I tip thee? Let me count the ways. -slipped on spilled gas at pump -soft soil, sand, gravel (all of the above) -stopped with wheels at high spot/ feet at low spot -jerked to stop trying to bump start it -fell over trying to push it -side stand dug into soft ground THANK GOODNESS FOR GOOD CRASH BARS! When I first had my 83 it fell over in soft sand. so soft I couldn't pick it up...my feet would just slide! I ended up using a light weight block and tackle tied to a tree.

This is as much a social club or even family as a bike forum. We discuss all sorts of things so if members want to have a place to discuss topless cars have at it. The Watering hole is still the main "social" spot. I know I would hate to lose the experience you OLD GUYS have.
  7. In our area scammers call and claim to be revenue Canada. They say. Our records show you owe x amount of money that if not paid immediately will result in seizure of property or jail time. What is hard to believe is the hey then instruct the sucker to purchase "ITunes" gift cards. They have them recite the code on the back and of course they get the money. Its hard to believe that people are so stupid to think the government of Canada would demand payment in ITunes gift cards. But, it is amazing how many have fallen for this!!!

  9. I have to admit I'm not a fan of the trunk box. I like the Molded intergrated look. That trunk looks too much like an after-thought. BUT.... It will be functional and as long as you like it then who cares what I think, right?! :ignore::ignore:
  10. A forum for coupons codes etc might be a good idea. Maybe the boss would consider it if enough people asked. Myself...10% is great if I'm buying the item anyway but it certainly isn't enough to motivate me into buying it.
  11. I was planning on evicting the deadbeats so I was starting to show it to prospective tenants. One couple showed up who told me he was a roofer and she worked at a call center but was currently off on medical leave. It was only after I asked her a few questions like if she was receiving sick leave she then admitted she did not work there long enough to qualify so she was currently on welfare. Scammer! When I asked her partner the name of his employer for a reference he admitted he worked "off and on" for a friend under the table. The guy had rotten teeth ( which I take as a lack of self respect) and he called my wife "sweetheart" which I found really offensive! Scratch that pair....NEXT?
  12. Those who know me will attest that I'm a nice guy to a fault. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I own a triplex that we depend on for income to supplement my too small pension. I had sworn that I would never again rent to a welfare recipient because it has been my experience that many people who get something for nothing have no appreciation of the cost and work involved to obtain nice things and lack respect for themselves or anything else. Our experience has been dirt, damage and ripped off. But this girl promised it would be different. She had 6 kids and Really played the pity card! She showed me proof that they get over $5000 per month in baby bonus and 2 different welfare cheques!!!!! Thats a lot more than I earn!!! Everything was fine for about 6 months..... In June she informed me that she didn't have the rent ($1550) because she misplaced the paperwork so her welfare check was late....ok.....I waited But I was getting impatient by the 3rd week.....she then claimed that she didn't receive her welfare cheque at all that month because it was so late (I call B.S.) and seeing as I held one month on deposit she felt she was justified to just have me apply that deposit to June's rent. In Ontario we have to file official papers that they have 2 weeks to pay or eviction will take place. I filed those papers June 23...so July 7th was the deadline.... no July rent in the meantime, and of course June's rent still didn't get paid I then had to pay $170 and wait 6 weeks for the Landlord Tenant Board to have an eviction hearing No rent in August. Finally, the hearing came (Aug 23) and they will be evicted. But it could take up to 2 weeks to receive the official notice of eviction and then they still have 11 days after that to get out!!! Which means No rent in September. At the eviction hearing, there were lawyers there for free for any tenants but when I asked one question I was told that they could not provide me with any legal advice because their mandate was strictly to help tenants. Because us rich landlords can afford to pay for our own legal advice! If they don't move out then I have to pay $350 to file with the sheriff's department to have them escorted from the property. But it could take up to 2 weeks for that to happen By the way.....In the meantime I could not go in and just toss them out, cut off any services, change the locks or do anything to impede the "peaceful enjoyment" of their home or they could sue me and I could receive up to a $25,000 fine. She actually told me " you can't do that because I can sue you and it won't cost me any money but it will cost you" I then have to spend time and money to dispose of the trash they left, patch holes in walls, wash and paint !!! In the meantime, I am advertising the place for rent but not likely I will find anyone decent to move in on such short notice... and certainly not in the condition it is in .so probably no rent for October. all in all, I am out about $6200 in rent...$1500 in expenses and repairs and a lot of stress and sleepless nights during the past 3 months. During that time they also caused over $10,000 damage because of careless smoking (they had no insurance ) but I actually came out ahead on that thru my insurance...plus they blew the motor on my lawnmower because they ran it with no oil in it. I can't recover any money because you can't put a Lien on welfare...and there is no form of registry to warn other landlords. So these lowlifes can just move on and continue to do this time after time with impunity. THEY STOLE OVER $7500 FROM ME AND SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL.
  13. Sounds like the same problem I had. Try cracking open the clutch line while you reassemble it. I had a problem where the I could not get the clutch to operate at all after I did plates an springs. It turned out the push rod would not stay retracted. I would push it in but by the time I had everything back in place it would creep back back out and hold the plates "open". After reassembling 3-4 times with the same result I finally released the pressure on the slave by cracking the line open until I reassembled things. This allowed the rod to stay back in place....then of course I had to bleed the clutch. I'm thinking you have the same problem....your clutch rod is not fully retracted. I was told that my solution didn't make sense ....all I know it that's what I did and it worked.
  14. Back in the day with CB handles my wife, who was a high energy and bubbly personality, was likened to a battery...a constant source of energy. Someone called her Ever-ready and it stuck.
  15. The plugs were wet and "gunky" . Hows that for a description?! I'll change the plugs of course but is that carb adjustment or just the result of too much low speed trolling? I wiped off the plugs and finally got it to stay running....but would fouled plugs allow it to start and run but then quit after 10-20 seconds? just doesn't seem logical to me
  16. You know...I did everything but stand on my head looking for that tag! Hiding in plain sight!!!
  17. nice....but you got it mounted on the wrong side!
  18. This is the motor I have. It fires up well, but then dies. I have attached pics of the only number I can find but boats.net doesn't recognize it as a valid serial number in case you can't read it it is L640244 My first bet would be fuel filter...but I can't find one! do these motors have a fuel pump? Can anyone direct me to an online manual? The only other number I can find is on the head. #492 It will run for about 20 seconds then die. The primer squeeze bulb remains full so I don't think it is sucking air
  19. You could buy a nice 1st gen for that!
  20. How much does it cost to remove her scent glands?
  21. Pretty! It even has the side vent louvers! Hope you get to enjoy it for many miles.
  22. You can find one in better shape for $1000-$1500 I would pass on that one. By the time you bring it up to snuff you could have over $3000 into it!
  23. It may not be as common but remember the guy in Hamilton who was murdered when he took a test drive with a potential buyer for his pick-up. That was a Kijiji ad. It does happen. Not offering an opinion on gun control...God's Kingdom will take care of all those issues! hee hee sorry boss:Avatars_Gee_George:
  24. just load them puppies up, bring north and sell them to me...cheaply of course!
  25. Wasn't there a issue that if the master was too full, when the fluid heated up it would expand and press the cyl.??? I could be barking up the wrong tree but my leaky memory seems to have an inkling about something like that:think::think:
