Well, Greg came yesterday and picked up the 85 (with88 engine) that I had for sale. We traded and I got 3 really nice guitars, a 50 watt Marshall amp and an old Yamaha electric drum pad. Also got gig bags, a tone pedal, a couple of sets of strings, capo's, picks, drum sticks and a new friend! We are both happy with the deal and we will probably see Greg on here from time to time. He has signed as the weirthmen I believe. any way....down to 3!

While it is off it would be a good time to put some LED lights in behind as an extra brake light. You have to heat the reflector to loosen the glue and remove the backing plate. But be careful....don't pry on it (I cracked mine) buy a couple of strips of LED lights and wire it up. I used a strip that was like a flat ribbon with the LEDs every inch or so. There was plenty of room to fit between the reflector lens and backing plate. I believe Marcarl just drilled holes in the backing plate for the LEDs....either way it makes a big difference in seeing the brake lights! I always thought just the one brake light just isn't enough....especially buried under the trunk box.

How passengers feel whne you have the controls

When I first got my bike I didn't have headsets for the intercom. I told my wife I wanted to get them so we could talk to each other without yelling back and forth. She said "you don't want to hear what I'm saying! I'm either muttering or praying." -
Getting rid of the CLASS

I believe you are talking about putting progressive shocks in the front. Many folks run without any air with progressive shocks....but not all. If you want to eliminate the class controller I would go the route suggested and replace the lines with those from a standard. Why not just keep an eye on ebay for another controller? -

It was the indians who first used the name Canada. ....well sort of. In 1535 in helping the explorer Jacques Cartier, The Iroquois pointed out the route to the village of Stadacona, the future site of Quebec City, and used the word "kanata," the Huron-Iroquois word for village.

THATS WHAT I THOUGHT!!!!! it's an 87!!! These don't have 2nd gear issues.

The switch can be working properly for starting the bike...but not completely springing out enough to allow the headlight to work. DOUBLE CHECK THAT FIRST before spending money. -
I put the bike on a charger the other day and it fired right up. Not bad after being outside with only a rain cover on it all winter. (I know....I'm so ashamed!) My garage was so full of crap and corruption I couldn't get the bike in there and still be able to move. Today I finally got to go for a short ride:cool10: and my 87 (with 75,000 miles) thinks it's a Mark I !!!!! I warmed it up well, and took it easy for the first 10 miles or so and all was fine. I should have changed the clutch over the winter but got in the way. I wanted to see how bad it was. Sure enough, when I really got it on it started to slip. But even worse....it jumped out of 2nd gear...I slowed down and tried it again and it jumped out again! Only when I was really pouring it on. What could have changed over the winter?????

CLASS Controller

With emphasis!!!! The best thing is a hand pump....much like a bicycle pump. I believe there is a pump from Harley that also has a zero loss connector for somewhere around $50 You only want a few pounds in the front. If you have progressive springs most guys don't use any air. And with a regular connector, you can loose a fair bit just disconnecting it. Enough to change your desired pressure anyway. From what I've read on this forum, for a manual system, the harley pump is a good investment. FWIW, I'm talking from what I've learned here...not from personal experience. -

Confucious say "he who laughs last usually has to have the joke explained!" If the average says that you shoot one duck for every 4 shots fired....and they each fired once but missed....the math proves that on average....they shot a duck!

Well.....Canada wasn't Canada until 1867 so technically, the war of 1812-14 didn't involve Canada at all!

It's Spring! It's Spring! Finally its Spring in Ontario!!!!!
Trader replied to Huggy's topic in Watering Hole
I saw bikes on the road about 2 weeks ago....and turkey buzzards all winter long!!!! Now...driveway repairs???? I'll buy that as an official sign of spring. mind you, my drive way is flooded from the melting snow and ice so I'm not laying down in that anytime soon. -
For sure change the plugs, oil and if the bike has sat for any length of time, bleed out the brakes and clutch fluids. I would consider progressive front springs and a Condor Brace and the handling will be amazing. (Super brace but made by our own Condor) No get up and go? SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT!!! These things move! Probably only running on 3 cyl. They run surprising well on only 3. When you start it up, feel the pipes (don't wait too long or you'll burn!) A cooler pipe will indicate the one not firing. You may need to do some carb cleaning. SEAFOAM!!!!! (at the least!) You may want to check the neck bearings while you have it stripped down....and inspect the frame....83's are known to crack at the back If you do have a 2 brush starter, you can do a ground mod (by Dingy I think) And upgrade the battery cables to 4 gauge. (or just go to 4 brush) Have you done the battery warning bypass? If you have a gel or glass mat battery you will will need to do that to eliminate the flashing red warning light and battery icon. You should pull the back wheel and grease the splines, and check the brakes while you are at it. Have fun! These are great bikes! The TCI is unique to 83...but Dingy had done a replacement group buy if yours goes south.

but are they also locked up EVERY TIME you leave? Loaded guns...unlocked...sounds like a good supply shop for the bad guys.
