In the 70's I rebuilt a 450 Honda....actually made it into a chopper.... in the entrance hall of my 4th floor apartment which had no elevator. I just took the front end and rear tire off to carry it down. No problem with 2 young guys. I wouldn't want to try that with the VR!

Can I swap the front wheel rim, disc etc complete from a Mark I to a Mark II I have a good tire on my parts bike...not sure if it will fit as is or if I have to unmount and remount the Mark I tire onto the Mark II rim EDIT: I have an AVON Venom X brand new tire for the back but the dealer won't install it because the date code says its an 09. They want overf $600 for a new pair!!!!!!! How important is the date code anyway. I've heard folks talk about it...but REALLY???!!!!!

Two hunters were out in heavy brush and hilly terrain. One of them couldn't handle the exertion and dropped dead. His buddy called 911 and asked "what should I do?" The operator said "well, first off we need to make sure he is dead...." The phone line went quiet for a moment then the operator heard a gun shot. Shortly after, the surviving hunter came back on the phone and said "OK....now what?"

88 vr gas tank removal.
Trader replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Well I guess I figured it out. I removed the obvious bolts and the only things I had to disconnect was some wiring and class air lines. I suppose I could have done more wire disconnects and just moved the entire class pump etc to front while I removed the rear sub frame -
I've searched a bunch of threads...and it from what I'm reading the easiest way is to remove the back sub frame. I've found the main mounting bolts....but what else needs to be disconnected for the sub frame to be removed? I have the bike up on my table lift. Not even sure I HAVE to remove it yet...but its wet around the petcock. It might just be the gasket or even fuel lines...but my luck it will have to come outl

Hi All, Last summer I rode about 300 miles. This summer I didn't do much better. I haven't been on here much at all....just lurking . But I am still here.. Anyway....I finally got my shop in some sort of shape and have heat in there....so it's time to get things done. I have to replace tires, new clutch, fix a gas leak, and replace the starter/battery cables....fix a whole slew of wire issues, replace fluid in clutch and both brake systems. I'd like to put new brake lines on but can't afford stainless so not too sure what to do there. So, when I pick up a wrench the first thing that happens is I start wondering what the heck I'm doing...then post many questions on VR. BRACE YOURSELVES!!!!

I haven't been on here much lately...I probably only put 300 miles on the bike last summer and have only been on 2-3 very local rides so far this year. I haven't been able to get to ANY of the get togethers.....and rarely logged on here......BUT.....it's still the best $12 investment I can think of making so I just renewed for another year!!!!! Hope you all Have fun at MD!!!! .Watch out for them pond monsters and Yammer...don't forget your tent poles! I'll be thinking of you all.

Looks like the party is at Carl's!!! Don't worry, I posted it on the internet so there should only be a few thousand show up!:yikes: -
watch out for our pet beavers crossing the road. and for fur traps at highway rest stops as stated, leave your guns at home and make sure to bring your manners road rules are pretty much the same -we ride on right side of the road:hihi: -helmets are required -ok to turn right on red light after a full stop -no rolling stop allowed -no lane splitting or riding on shoulder to pass -daytime headlights required if not posted speed limit is 80 k/hr in country or 50 in built up area ( approx 55 and 30 mph) mandatory diet includes poutine and beaver ails (just not from our pets)

we are putting a large screen tv in our hall. all the inputs to the amp are full so we are thinking of sharing the rca type input currently used by a laptop to play music tv and music would never be on at same time thesound desk requires about 100 ft of wire from tv not too worried about concert hall quality sound...we use standard ceiling type speakers. can we run rca output from tv 100 ft to shared rca input to amp?

Is the "throwing money" smile still available? I couldn't see it anywhere and just noticed I can't find any crying or wailing icons either:mad:

replace glass fuse block with spade type progressive springs in the front stainless brake lines and speed bleeders delink brakes (personal preferance thing) super brace (I would recommend the "condor brace" if still available) solid motor mounts add air horns, running lights, more lights at rear convert lights to led..means jumpering the cpu to eliminate warning light 4 gu.battery cables or better yet, a 2nd gen 4 brush starter ( using this 2nd gen part shouldn't slow the bike down:whistling:)

Thanks for the idea Puc. Marcarl may have some for me but if they don't work I'll destroy an air fitting ans see what I can come up with. Someone else suggested BBs and gave me some (.177") but I haven't tried them yet. The O-ring is not a problem. A friend gave me a kit with lots off different sizes.

if you install a resistor to trick the cpu won't the draw be as bad as having the original bulbs and defeat the purpose of leds?
-
thanks...but way larger than I need

OK...now I have your attention I should mention that I am not afraid nor looking for someone to be brave. What I need is a single ball bearing steel ball. I have a "princess auto", air and hydraulic bike table lift with a release pedal. probably made in China The pedal pulls a pin on bottom of the hydraulic bottle which allows a steel ball to open a port, releasing the pressure and allowing the oil to flow thru an outlet port back into the reservoir. I lost that steel ball and you wouldn't believe the problems I have been having trying to find a replacement. Princess Auto themselves were no help....and the manual doesn't specify the size. or where you can order parts One company would only sell me a bag of 100 for $12.95 It is deep inside the base but as near as I can eyeball it with my micrometer it is 0.141" or 3.62 mm. Closest match is 1/8" which is .125" or 3.19 mm If anyone has one single ball bearing or a few different ones around that size and would be willing to throw it in an envelope and mail it to me I would appreciate it!!!!! The lift is useless without it. The shaft that pushes the ball bearing into the port to plug the pressure has a bad o'ring...so it leaks like a sieve. That's why I pulled it apart. That shaft is Spring loaded...I never even saw the ball bearing go flying out.

You have got way too much time on your hands!
