There are some links to ebay in the "Quickstep has a bike" thread for CB's that only take you to the home page. There was some discussion about this problem awhile ago.... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46616 but it didn't seem as if it ever got resolved. The general concensious was that you COULD NOT BE LOGGED IN TO EBAY on your personal account if you wanted to copy and paste the link to a speciific item. So....whats the REAL story? Is it that the poster was logged in or is it my machine?

Years ago I was busted for having 10" Z-bars with 3" dogbone risers on a chopper. The result was the bars were about chest height. The law in Ontario is the HIGHEST part of the bars can be no higher then 15" or 15 1/2" above the seat (with the rider compressing it) That's another one that obviously is not being enforced! I have seen idiots riding with the bars so high thier arms are almost straight up above their head. Tell me they have full control!!!

My wife's sister and her husband live about 200 miles away....he's alergic to our dogs so and we arranged a hotel for them fto come for a visit this past weekend We were supposed to go on the 1000 Islands dinner cruise together this past Friday. Well, sad to say, My Mum passed away last Wednesday, so obvioulsy we had to cancel our plans It's a long story but it only cost me about 25% for the rooms and the cruise...but under that arrangement I could not get any refund if we cancelled so We called them and suggested they invite another couple for the weekend I just paid for the new couple to have thier own room as well. The new couple ended up being late...so late that the ship would have already left but as it turned out the band was late also. My Brother in law figured there was no sense wasting the 2 new couple's tickets ($75 per person NORMAL price) so when he noticed a young couple who were wistfully watching the boarding, he offered them the tickets for free. (they would have been totally wasted anyway) He said they lit up like a Christmas tree! Just as he was about to hand them the tickets ...the "new" couple showed up....so the young couple lost out. He said it was sad to see how they deflated. We ended up meeting for a quick visit the next day (Saturday) and my Bro. in Law gave us flowers for my Dad and bought us lunch. I felt so bad when they told me the story of that Young couple! If I was there I would have bought them tickets anyway!!!! I can't even describe how I felt when I actually met the "new" couple". Un-impressed may be a start. They did express condolences on Mum's death.... but never even said thank you for the 2 nights in the hotel or the cruise or so much as mentioned it...no report if it was good, bad or otherwise. My brother in law couldn't believe it either!!! I'm not looking for anyone to kiss my *** .....or looking for praise...it was just a way to make up for cancelling out on my brother in law.......but You would think that if someone gives you a holiday weekend worth at least $500 that you would at least say thank you! Some peoples' Kids!!!!!!!!

collector systems
Trader replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Nothing too serious ....YET When I took the front header off, the flange (the thinner end of the header) broke off inside the collector. I"m sure I'll be able to get that out with a hammer and cold chisel. I'm missing the chrome cover on one side....and I'm sure it won't be that long before it rots out so I'm just doing some homework on it now.- 3 replies

The bible teaches us the the man is the head of the household. But what it doesn't say is the woman is the neck. And we all know that the neck controls the head!

As you can see.....it seems there are 2 basic thoughts. minor medical supplies: band aids, aspirin, afterbite, etc Major medical suppplies: Large bandages, sewing supplies, crazy glue to close wound (did you know that was the original intention when they invented it during WWII?) I guess it boils down to what degree you want to be prepaired for! Either way...something I never even thought about....so thanks for bringing it up!

very efficient! Not only did they get the bike washed...but they also got their clothes washed and their monthly shower at the same time. I would think the high pressure would sting a bit on bare skin though!! As for the wax....I understand that some women get waxed quite reqularly!

The Beast is Alive!
Trader replied to GaryZ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
GaryZ, That actually looks sorta good! sort of like the "visable" series of models we used to have years ago. I"m looking forward to getting mine in shape. I took an 84VR for a test ride and now I see what kind of power these bikes are SUPPOSED to have. Mine's not even close! Be sure to post pics once the paint is done! -
Not just tires to look out for! A few years ago a guy travelling in the oposite direction of a major hiway was killed when a shoe from the parking jack dropped off a transport trailer...itires bounced it off the road , over the center divider and dropped into his lane...thru his windshield and BANG....he's dead. Probably never even knew what hit him! Not sure if they ever found the truck responsible.

Earl just brushed you folks in NC.....supposed to hit Nova Scotia this morning.

Trader replied to KeithR's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I guess as long as nobody is trailering the bike not having nuts holding them on won't matter....will it Wrongway??? but that's a different thread! -
Oh you thilly thavage! ...(how do you spell a lisp?) Don't be spreading any rumors or I'll hit you with my purse! I know...politically incorrect! or did you mean special like riding the "short bus"?

Hi Gary, I know what you are going thru. My Mum is in the last stages of terminal lung cancer. Having Pnemonia may be a blessing. The doctor told us that if that happens to Mum, she will probably die in her sleep and it would happen within a couple or three days. Much better than a long slow painful end. My prayers are for you and your family.

???????????? all was fine with mine! CTV is one of the large TV networks in Canada. I can't imagine their site would do anything like that!

Coolant bypass valve
Trader replied to DesertRider's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I THINK so.....perhaps someone can confirm that. I tore the front off mine getting to the starter...and had some sheared off bolts etc so I ended up taking off the thermostat housing etc also so I never actually had to to use the drain. -
Coolant bypass valve
Trader replied to DesertRider's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
the actual drain plug is on the Right of the motor...near the front. Just below where the coolant pipe enters the right front case. -
That is why I love this site...and the folks here! Now all I gotta do is find someone closer to Kingston and I'd be all set! Bike's been down for 2 weeks and I'm suffering from withdrawal!!!!

This is part of the schedule taken from the Yamaha web site September 16 - 19, 2010 Lawrenceville Yamaha 155 Park Access Drive Lawrenceville, GA Demo I remember seeing several posts where members had "issues" with this dealer. Perhaps they might use this opportunity to "discuss" the dealer as well as point the reps to this board so they can see how many people are planning on jumping ship.
