When asked what interesting thing happened to them today, A kindergarden student told the class that he had found a cat near their back door...but it was dead. The teacher asked..."How do you know it was dead" Little Johnny replied " Because I Pissed in it's ear and it didn't wake up" "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" exclaimed the teacher. Sheepishly Little Johnny said.." you know....I leaned over and went "PSSST" .

One day a first grade teacher was reading the story of "Chicken Little" to her class. When she came to the part where Chicken Little warns the Farmer, she read " and Chicken Little ran up to the farmer and said "the sky is falling!"." The Teacher than asked the class what they thought the Farmer said. Little Johnny raised his hand and said " I think the Farmer said " HOLY SH#T a talking chicken!" It was at least 10 minutes before the teacher could resume teaching!

Well....I took the standard out for a boot today....not bad but really wobbley in the curves. It supposedly has a newer clutch but it was slipping when I really twisted it.. Worse thing....I had it on the side stand....and twisted the handlebars towards the right....I heard a BANG and it suddenly wanted to lean a LOT more! Found out the bang was when the side stand bolt snapped off! Without the bolt holding it together, the stand "fork" was spreading from the weight of the bike...so it was leaning more than ususal. It probably would have fallen over if I had just let it go. So now I gotta find a new bolt. It looks like a special bolt with the bushing built into it.

Remind me to keep my new (to me) bike away from you. The PO had a thing about dragons and had chinese characters for "Dragon" on the truck box...and the word "Dragon" under the headlight. Will be off very soon....along with the light bar

Wiring harness the same?
Trader replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
To be clear....just asking if they use the SAME wiring harness for both MK1 models.... The VR with the goodies mounted in and the standard without hardware...but same harness???? -
you might have noticed I just picked up an 84 Standard venture. Wondering if the wiring harness is the same as a VR? Meaning....could I buy the goodies and make a standard into a VR or are all the plugs and connections just not there?
-
not sure if it is a or not but I bought that bike. It is an 84, standard. not royale so no goodies. It has good tires, New windshield. New stator. New Starter. New fork seals. New 2nd & 3rd gear. Needs Paint. Engine tune up spring 2009 It is high milage...around 150,000 Km....so 95,000 miles or so. The clutch has a bit of a slip when I powershifted but for more gentle operation it seems fine. It is in fairly good shape, the paint is faded, but the plastic looks good, most tabs are there. He was asking $2000, I got it for $1000. The FIRST thing I am going to do is remove the light-bar/ bumper. On the unlikely chance that it appeals to anyone, what should I sell it for? I figure I'm going to take the best parts of both bikes and I'll end up with a good one...and one passable one that I can probably sell for more than I paid for it. Thats the plan anyway! I like the looks of my blonde much better...this one is a faded burgandy/red One thing I notice with it....it seems to sit lower than mine. It feels like I'm sitting IN it rather than on it. (same stock seat but this one has a backrest! Would that be just because maybe the PO is using less pressure in the rear shock? (He was about same size as me)

now that brings on a whole new meaning of nerve!
