  1. but then, you could always reconsider that policy so you could apply the advertising charges to the total for the St. Judes fund on behalf of the membership.
  2. [quote=Marcarl;522661This the heater I put in last year and am quite happy with it. Bought it at Princess Auto for about $400.00. . http://www.princessauto.com/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/8065799.jpg You wouldn't know if it was available for propane would you? No natural gas here...(except of course my own!)
  3. I found this Ebay seller located near Toronto. The brake lines are stainless, covered with PVC. After shipping it would be about $40 per line. I haven't even looked to see how many lines we need but it seems a long way from the price offered in the classified. In fairness. it's comparing apples to oranges because of course this vendor is not offering the de-link kit. Not sure if I want to de-link or not. Any thoughts on the product, price or comparison? Any thoughts on to de-link or not? http://cgi.ebay.ca/YAMAHA-XVZ13-VENTURE-CUSTOM-STAINLESS-STEEL-BRAKE-LINE-/190403794950?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c54f35806
  4. I webt to the local Princess Auto and saw a vacume bleeder for $40something....I think it was $42.00 Anyone know where I can do better? any recomendations of one brand over another?
  5. Sorry Squid but I disagree. If someone from this group sponsors a meet and eat...or a day ride with an entry "donation", has a raffle, bingo, dinner, or goes door to door and convinces 40 people that aren't members of this website to donate...it is STILL thru the efforts of that member, and this group, that the donations were aquired. Othewise it would be nothing more than a membership numbers game. The group with the largest membership would probably take it home. BUT.....by opening it up to just the bottom line...how much TOTAL the group raises...it allows for more creativity, and hopefully, more funds donated.
  6. Steve, one day, you will have to let us know how you ended up with a moniker like "tent peg" There's gotta be a story there! OK......, we need 13 more orders!
  7. I was wondering about the portable propane heaters...do you have to worry about carbon monoxide with them? Any suggestions on a COMPACT heat source that is reasonably efficient?
  8. Brrrrrrrrr! Just checked the thermometer. IT'S ZERO (= 32 F) outside!  I just bought the insulation and wall covering for the garage so guess what I'm doing tomorrow? I don't want to take on stripping and working on the blonde beast when the wrenches are so cold you can't even hold on to them! I envy you southern folk....you can ride all year, don't have to pay for furnace oil or snow tires, and never have to shovel 10 inches of "partly cloudy" ......what can I say..... I don't want it to be winter!!!!
  9. Sounds good to me! I would take a set!
  10. I understood it!!!!! Now that's just scary in ANY language! Here's another language discussion. The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English". In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f".. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter. In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away. By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v". During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi TU understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru. Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas. If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl.
  11. congrats on the bike! From what I read, it's one of the faster ones (1st Gen....and BLUE!)
  12. What???? NOTHING???? Tough crowd!!
  13. Yeah....like I just paid $13.42 (after our 13% in sales taxes) for a ONE sidestand bolt!!!!!!
  14. CHA CHING:mo money: Is that another donation I hear? Incidents like that are not that painful, not that damaging...but they sure do get you P.O'd!!!!! Glad to hear it was relatively minor!
  15. I always ask the seller to use USPS. The post office is MUCH cheaper because they don't charge the huge brokerage fees that the courriers charge. For example, I just received a set of arm rests for my bike. Cost $30 for postage. I'm sure it that was sent via UPS or FED-Ex then it would have cost that just for the brokerage!
  16. CONGRATS!!
  17. so could you put a series of 6-8 batteries togther with jumpers, with a 2 amp charger and put the (+) terminal at one end and the (-) at the other, on a timer for one-2 hrs a day? Would that even work?
  18. You know what happened when Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda all got together on a project? At the news conference whenthe CEO tried to pronounce the new company name, he chipped 3 teeth and shredded his tongue!
  19. Seen lots of discussion about a "battery tender"...and it is obvious they are the electrical plug type. So...I assume these are not just a charger? I have heard of putting batteries on a 2 amps charger , on a timer, so it only comes on 1 hour a day. I purchased some cheap solar battery tenders from Canadian Tire. These are supposed to put out up to 1.8 watts/125 mA under ideal conditions. But...they won't be any good in my garage over the winter! SO....the question is What is a battery tender? Can I hook up multiple batteries to a single Charger/tender? With all the toys and equipment I have 8-10 batteries!
  20. Trader

    OMG!

I guess thats why it is recommended that we take it to a parking lot and play. TRY to scrape the pegs so we learn what we can and can't get away with. Learning how to keep the beast upright doesn't hurt either!
  21. If you want a CHEAP paint job you can't beat Maaco. I found their paint job was OK but they really took short cuts on the body work. IMHO only
  22. These are the same idea as the portable garages that are available at Costco or CTC. The problem with these is that they have no floor and heat up like Green Houses. They Trap the moisture inside the tent. Before I smartened up and put plastic and old carpet on the ground I had moisture literally dripping off the equipment I had stored in mine. I would think they are no better than just wrapping a tarb around the bike. I like the The Baggie idea! It completely encloses the bike (or whatever)...and you even put in a moisture absorbant.
  23. Planned Parenthood! This way you've got your own built in babysitter for when you want some seat time with the wife! Congratulations....probably everybody here would agree on one piece of advice.....Spend as much time as you can with your kids! They grow up too fast and you WILL be sorry if you don't!
  24. you know the rules....PICTURES!!!! Then again...maybe not!! Whatever the date....I WANT TO BE THERE and will if at all possible.
  25. I ended up just putting on Dunlop 404's Cheaper....and they felt pretty good on my 83 VR. The standard is going to be used for parts, fixed up a bit and sold in the spring so cheaper is good enough for me. Still cost $400 for the 2 tires and the safety check.
