It's back together

The joy's of last minute problems! Oh well, begger's can't be chosers....I'm sure it's nothing a little black magic marker won't fix! -
That looks good enough for me! I have extra clamps from some hi-way bars that didn't fit the crash bars (too tight) ...maybe they will fit the handle bars. I'm not sure what the sizes are.

4 times this year! But I'll make excuses here. First summer of riding in close to 20 years and twice was due to mechanical issues. About a week after I got it....I went to turn a sharp bend in private cottage laneway and the front wheel washed out in sandy soil. the clutch started grabbing really badly during a ride.(got a leak somewhere!) Trying to limp home on back roads I came to stop sign where gravel road met paved road. I was going to roll thru it but at the last minute saw a car coming. I had the front wheel turned and when braked the front slid out due to the gravel on the pavement. Gravel under my feet too so I just couldn't keep it up. Same laneway as #1. Had a gate just off the road, a bit uphill. Had the front turned again and stopped and it came over to left. (I have learned to try and get it straight THEN stop!!!!) The battery died. I was trying to bump start it by myself. Got it rolling and when I went to jump on...my foot hung up on the trunk box. I got back on my feet but the bike was off balance. Every time the bike has gone down on the left side. And it has been more like laying it down rather than falling over.... but THANK GOODNESS for crash bars! No damage except for the last one that scratched the bar a bit

you should put some kind of safety chains on it once its up there. That way you are not depending on just the cable and eyebolts to hold it. What are the eyebolts mounted to? If they are just screw in type...I would be worried. In the mean time...I wouldn't be too comfortable working under it

I'm guessing you have to have "god" rights....like Don

NOT NICE!!!!!! I was reading this as an escape from boredom while I was talking to my sister in law and she was going on and on about her health problems again. She was also telling me about her husbands mother who is not well with cancer. Well just as she told me that her mother in law might not come home from the hospital I reached the punch line and broke out laughing! So Now I'm sure she thinks I'm a real sensitive guy! GREAT STORY!!!!

Some things never change.... For as long as I can remember, Yonge Street, one of Toronto's main streets seemed to have a large number of freaks that come out at night. We always referred to it as the Yonge Street Zoo. So now I guess they also go to Wall Mart

Muffler Chamber problem...HELP
Trader replied to Meaton03's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
E-bay...they ("collectors") come up from time to time. Or take it to a muffler shop and see if they can weld it. -
Winters knocking..what are your plans for the bike this winter?

By now folks who are regulars here know I'm not all that mechanically inclined. (and THAT'S an understatement!!!) I have never soldered anything more than a few wires together! All the talk about lifting traces etc has me convinced it is beyond my skill set. I am a bit paranoid about my TCI boxes going bad. I could open them up and inspect them...but if I find the diodes are swelling, are there any electrical geniuses here willing to do the soldering work for me? I'm not talking for free. Just if someone has the nerve (AND ABILITY) to take it on sometime over the winter.

Bump ONE TO GO? Unless I can't count!

I rode a couple a long time ago...neither were mine...we just traded during a long ride. I found BOTH of them seemed as if there was much less ground clearance than my 1st Gens do. I scraped on corners that I thought were not very severe lean!

First....I have to finish insulating and putting a heat source in the garage.(I'm NOT in the warm part!) Then for the bikes..... I plan on taking the best of the 2 bikes (the 83 VR "Blonde" and '84 Standard "Red")and putting those parts into my blonde...but make sure Red is stilll a decent bike for resale. The clutch in Red is slipping. So I'm going to take good clutch out of blonde and put in Red. Then put Skydoc clutch upgrade into Blonde put progressives in front forks of Blonde Dingy's starter ground upgrade on both install condor Brace on Blonde put new tires from Red onto Blonde take back rest from red and put on Blonde figure out how to mount '86 arm rests on 83 Blonde repair various plastic cracks, tabs etc Paint for both take upgraded stator out of Red and put into Blonde stainless brake lines and possible delink for Blonde solid motor mounts for Blonde heavier battery cables for Blonde move TCI to top of airbox on both battery sensor/resistor mod on Blonde (already done on Red) Replace/repair odometer on Red repair small exhaust leak on Red replace carb diaphrams on Blonde re-cover or repair split at front seam of both seats purchase needed cables & headsets to actually use driver/rider intercom replace speakers in Blonde R&R and lube rear end and driveshaft on both Plus clean and polish everything I can! Other than that...not much! :mo money: -
This is the most detailed and amazing display I have ever seen! Although this video tours a good part of the display, check out the other video's at the bottom of the screens also! The airport is just amazing. Some of the video's are in German...but there are english subtitles http://www.miniatur-wunderland.com/exhibit/video/4-minutes-wunderland/

Did anyone post this on the "other" venture site? Might get a few more orders that way. Not that I'm promoting that site!
