  1. OK, I finally had a chance to wash, wax, and mist n' shine. Here are the pics...even got a free train with it!
  2. Huge thanks to MiCarl!!! --------- The Elite II isn't a premium tire so you go with the book - 32 PSI. Metzeler recommends 44psi in your rear. They recommend 46-48 for two up riding and 48-50 for two up heavy (see "Note recommended tire pressures" on the left side of the page linked above). I figure with my wife and her crap on board we're in the 900 lb range on the rear tire, which is it's max capacity. I always ran my rear ME880 at 50psi and still had the tread come loose, although I do not know how the previous owner had treated the tire. Carl ---------

  8. Better idea...you buy the Venture, I'll ride it and store it for you until you are ready. I'll do all maintenance and everything! It'll be in brand-new (with a few miles) condition for when you are ready and any kinks will be worked out!
  9. Is that with the engine warm or does it not make a difference?
  10. Sorry for the dumb question.... I just changed the oil and oil filter in my 89 for the first time yesterday. The manual said with an oil filter change there should be 4 qts, so I just dumped it in. On the center stand the sight glass is all the say full. Should I empty some out to get to half full on the glass? Thanks!
  11. They have to do something to be able to hear the music over that terrible rattle-trap

  13. I know who not to buy parts from...j/k
  14. Also, when you start to get an idea of what you are looking for, do your research before you go back into the store. When you have a better idea, more of the salespeople will take you serious. (Not saying being new is any fault of your own, that has just been my experience) If you want a Harley, go for it, but be prepared for terrible customer service!
  15. haha, that is just what I was going to say!
  16. Just ordered the RAM setup from gpscity.com. Enter RAMLIVECHAT for 5% off. Got the gps holder and mount for $40 including priority shipping.

  21. Thanks! I like the backup GPS on the windshield! So this would be the one that should work? http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogResults/PartDetails/tabid/63/partid/082065077045066045049052057090085/Default.aspx Thanks again!
  22. I need to order a RAM mount for my GPS. Looking at the mounting options has me confused what will fit on an 89 1st Gen. There doesn't seem to be much room between the actual round bars and the reservoirs. Any examples or pictures of what has been done or works? The reservoir mounts
  23. I would be very curious about that. I used Navy Federal Credit Union for many years in the service. They were always extremely prompt and helpful. What does your loan officer need from them anyways? All they should need is a payoff amount and then they give you the money. You go give it to them and they give you the title.
  24. Anyone? I'd like to order the parts ASAP for safety!
  25. The 765T is not waterproof though, correct? So do you just keep a plastic bag with you?
