I like the 3rd review. As I am using bass blockers as well... http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=237XT42&tp=2809&tab=review There Just might be hope for the front after all *LOL* Jeff

I have been trying to figure how to make the front speakers sound like the rear. with some kind of backing for the sound to be even better. These caught my eye while surfing around in crutchfields.. I hope they fit! there might be just enough room in there! http://www.crutchfield.com/S-1b0A1wum8mx/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=237XT42 I think this is the ticket for the front. I ordered the slim type. I will let ya know how they work! Jeff

(just keep an eye on that battery Don if you need the phone) (I just noticed that you got 8 hours and battery only half gone) Now that's a battey! I did that last year with my Krazer , So I could bluetooth , with-out a wire hooked to my head at work.. I did however notice that after playing for about 4 or 5 hours my phone always was on the verge of no battery left. So I went to the Ipod Classic with the Motorola Adapter. And use my Motorola blue-tooth head-set.. they both will last 1.5 days on a charge. I was always having to keep my phone plugged in after work in my truck to make my calls.. I hope the newer phones have a longer lasting battery for that purpose. keep us posted on your findings Don! looks really kewl! Jeff

Now keep in mind... I am using bass blockers. to be able to crank up my Polk's even higher. (used with amp) so the rumble doesn't- Force you to turn them down.. I do however like the highs coming out of the Polk's better. Don. I used the F/S control. or whatever you call it, and adjust my rears to match the front of the bike. but your right a lot does come out of the front. (but is adjustable) Jeff

Changing 2nd Gen Speakers From what the guys posted last week about the Polk's I ordered two of them and I think they are great sounding! Two Summers ago I changed the stock speakers to Pioneer TS-G10400's the speakers are OK but just not there yet. I then added bass blockers and it helped. now with the blockers added to the new Polk's (front only) Moocho better. The Polk's can handle a little more power (amp in trunk) so combined with the bass blockers it really sounds great even with-out the fairing on the bike. That is the problem with the fronts.. not like the rear on the RSV. (in a pod un-cased) sound much better. So I left the Pioneers in the rear for now. Here are some pics of all 3 speakers OEM SPEAKERS (Junk) Pioneers Much Better Polk's Even Better 107DB400Polk Audio db 400 4" 2-way Speakers 1049.9949.99 Here is all 3 of them top view And side view Now with that being said, here is how you remove and put them in a 2nd Gen..... #1 Remove Fairing. (there is no going in from the front) #2 Remove the gold bracket and the black box (blinker box>?) #3 Remove the Philip's screw for each speaker #4 Start removing the four screws holding the speakers in place.. use a 8mm wrench when you can and a 5/16 deep socket for the hard to get to ones. #5 Now with all the screws removed you start to pry the front bikes grill along with the speaker a part. If adding Polk's you will need to enlarge the (2) inner holes a little bit.. (2 holes that will face the middle of the bike) #6 when adding the new speakers the (inside holes will be placed in-between the plastic as show) NOTE: I did place small pieces of cardboard in-between the metal bracket and the magnet so it Will help NOT to demagnetize the speakers. #8 DONE (replaced everything in reverse order) Now CRANK IT UP! Happy Riding! Warning.. Another person did some research on that (LOW) price place.. (not good).... I guess the price was to good to be true......the best normal price that is low is running about $625.00 for now. Yep, I do not know why I waited so long to get the Zumo. there an Awesome GPS.. I can not wait to get lost again next riding season makes it real fun that way.! Mr. Zumo seems to always get me back home! Jeff
-
Great Price.. that has dropped about $90.00 in about 4 months. Also I think the prices are dropping because of maybe a Zumo 650 in the works I bet. ( I also bet the cost will be $999.00) to start with. Jeff

I Can talk into mic to a cell call and hear the call. My Wife can hear the call but not talk to the caller. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/sh...threadid=15303 If she really needs to say something to the caller she can tell me what to say to the caller, otherwise the cable is great ! Jeff

Wow those MODEL F4.0 Look awesome , but I would agree That there is not enough room behind the faring for them to fit.. I have been through this before. man they would be perfect for my 250 watt amp in my trunk! Dan let us know if the will fit a second gen or not. Jeff
-
Mike,Bob,-- I just got my Polk's in the mail yesterday, and they sure look great they have a larger magnet and I love the tweeter, I think they will sound better then my Pioneers, I have an Amp in the trunk and I do use Bass Blockers. I will try and Install them this weekend. Thanks for the Tip and the price was great! also, looks like the specs are better then the Pioneers as well. Jeff

Thanks Larry for the Info

Very Nice.. glad I waited a little longer. ummm

It is $149 but you get $100 Back.. As of yesterday we were paying $40 a month for the black-berry (man that was slow) I removed that service so now I pay 19.95 per month more now than I did before. so that is how I look at it. YES it is $59.95 per month but MOST like US Cellular is the same price but ONLY in your local calling area. and much slower. anyways I hope that helps. (note: these are the new USB plug in type Air Cards) much better! YOU CAN ALSO TRY IT FOR 30 DAYS RISK FREE (All Money returned if not happy)
-
Buddy That is a good Question, Well I had my wife type has I drove:whistling: Anyways back home now,, I must say I am impressed with the new Air Card From AA&T It can be used world wide with unlimited access. It sure beats the speed of my wife's crack-berry.. that runs about 9kbs . This card runs about the speed of my DSL at home 600 to 700 kbs Jeff
-
Just got this card installed and now I am driving around testing it in different locations, man this thing runs faster then my dsl in some area's (and no I am parked typing this) Ok going back home now Jeff
-
ummm ..... errrrr.... Next time try using that thing that is hanging off your belt and CALL Silly!! My email was on all weekend as well! (did the write up help at all?) I hope all is better now! Jeff

Gear Whine-Final Result-25 percent better.
Cougar replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I did ask my Mechanic that 1.5 years ago while he was doing all my basket changes. and he said that it would require tearing apart the whole engine to replace that small gear as it runs all the way through the engine on a shaft. about $1200.00 to do the job.. Jeff -

That us exactly what I have been trying to explain for a year now. (what Kit is saying) He just says it better . After all my basket changes If I run (using a tach) in 4th gear above 3200 rpm the sound is gone. if I hit 5th Gear the sound is gone once I have it up over 3200 RPM again.. about 70 to 75. Like Kit I did the thicker oils and the other brands. now I think I have just plain old 10/40 Yama-Lube in there and as long as those Rpms are up the sound is GONE! This is one reason I am going with the rear-end change like Don did. My RPM's will go up with having the drive 75 mph in 5th *lol* Jeff -
Dat be it.. thanks Bro!
