  11. Also, I might want to add , have you inspected the inside of the fuel tank yet... I mean with a flashlight.... I bought my bike in the same manner as you did , but it was stored in a shed. with the fuel level on empty.. with the mid west winters the TANK WILL RUST to no END , I mean REALLY BAD... This is also what help cuz my carbs to get so cruded-up. I had to remove tank and krem it. so far so good. worked great. I also have checked and changed my filter since then 3 time every time the filters have been spotless (clean) http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=524 As you can see from my cross section of my original filter. Oh my bike is a 2000 RSV and it had 4,500 miles on her. 2 years ago. Good Luck, Jeff
  12. The Back Cover Baffle is about an 1/8 th inch thick.. But when I installed it back into place it compressed part of the baffle just a bit. seems like there might be a 1/16 inch left? not sure. hard to tell. I think somebody if they bought 2 of the 401's.. and before the placed them into the front of the bike maybe try a test fit on one of the rears.. Jeff

  15. First of all I have not finished my write-up for the rear install. Another thing I want you folks to know is that I have done the Installing a 250 watt Amp (in the tech section) then I went to pioneers. Then I added Bass Blockers. Then I Switched over to Polk Speakers (better then pioneers and stock) And now I am in the MIT's of adding the Baffles to the rear of all four speakers.. So the Sound that BLOWS out of my speakers now is Satisfying to me..! But I can say the SPEAKERS are better then the Stock OEM is a Much Better Improvement. I can not say how all this sounds with just a stock set-up. I have done this http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=487 and this so far http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11152 Good Luck On whatever you decide my friend. Jeff
  16. Or http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11152 I think they Rock... and help reduce the distortion.. In return add more volume. Jeff
  17. The ring must be removed for the depth of the Polk Speaker.
  18. The ring has the fiber mesh screen in it. maybe to help protect some water getting in the stock speakers. And maybe to cover up the look of the cone. it does nothing else but be in the way of a better speaker . I like the looks of the front of the polks anyways! Jeff
  19. I had the same problem about six months ago, # 2 ANd #4 were fouling plugs -way to rich. after removing my carbs I found that all my floats were out to lunch with all differant hights. I also replace all four low idle set screws as well. now my plugs ALL FOUR look awesome. This floats were factory set that way. Just thought I would share that with you. there is no need to by new carbs. you can adjust and replace parts yourself. Before I did all this to my carbs I must have ran 12 cans of SeaFoam nothing helped until I looked into them. I still use SeaFoam In Everything I use though.. Good Luck, Jeff Not Sure if you have seen this or not http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7830
  20. CUZ the NANO is a Solid State Chip that Stores Music The Larger IPODS have a working hard drives in them. Bumps and Vibrations will eventually disrupt the drive.
  21. Just use the Zune.. it will work.. If after a while ya lose to music Files from a bad bump or something Just reload them. Folks here still use the Ipod with hard drive and hardly have any problems with them. But It is WAY better to use a NONE HARD DRIVE type MP3 Player! Heck I started out with my 512 nano and it ran perfect for a long time! Until I just switch over the the Zumo GPS this year. $39.95 will get you what your looking for though.. Jeff
  22. Great > Write -up! Thanks!
  23. Glad you like them Bill... Yes , that is why I Installed the AMP in my trunk to get the Volume I needed , I even did that before the Polk's though.. It Also helps Lots with my new Zumo GPS to hear what it is saying and also help the music come from that even louder. Anyway , I am glad you had success with them. can not remember if you changed out the rears yet or not? (did you add bass-blockers?) I still have not installed my second set yet into the rears. Some say there might not be enough room. I will get them to fit some how with the baffles. I also still have not installed my baffles to all four speaker as well. *sigh* to damn COLD.... Buurrrrrr Jeff
