  1. Good news! Repair shop found my wheel spacer. Now I can make it to the Kootenays this weekend. Thanks to the guys that offered me a replacement parts. Now just have to pick it up, get it all together and take it for a:cool10: test. Markus(calgaryrider)
  2. I hope its by the tire machine:fingers-crossed-emo The tires I ordered from canada motorcycle, Both E2's. $198 front, $165 rear. Free shipping.
  3. Got new tires for the krusing the Kootenays. Removed the wheels last night and took it all to shop to swap over. All was good, they took the tires right away $55 for both to mount and balance:cool10:. Picked them up just before closing and ran some errands, alls good. At 9:00 I've cleaned and greased the splines, mount the rear tire and start tighting everything up. Huh? Castle nut won't torque? Shoot! Lost the collar going between hub and brake caliper bracket! Searched all over garage floor, nope. Now I'm a little crazy, shops closed on Sundays I can call them Monday but if they don't have it I'll have to order one. Going to bea little antsy till then, and hopefully can get one by Thursday. . Next time I remember to check for lose parts before moving to far. Thanks just needed to rant. Markus (calgaryrider)
  4. I can't tell you the cost of extraction. What I can tell you is that Canada sells the crude at a set cost to refineries in the states and then buys the refined product back at slightly higher price when crossing the border. For an example: Shelby, MT average price of gas $3.77/G (about. $0.99/L) and just north across the border Milk River, AB $4.46/G ($1. 18/L)
  5. Like Brian said, lots if paces to go. The Stampede is a mixture of rodeo and a supersized county fair. Pretty much the whole city gets involved. Banff's only 90 minutes west. Or he could take a look at this site; http://www.visitcalgary.com Markus. (calgaryrider)
  6. Thanks Gary, Hayseed. In the process with Thirdbike (PJ) about a cover currently. Jobs taking a little longer than I hoped. Got an easy out snapped off in the broken bolt. Then I snafu'd and cut the wrong harness:depressed:
  7. Off the top of anyones head, will a stator/engine cover from a '83 1200 fit on the '88 1300. In the picture it looks the same, but don't want to bid if it doesn't fit. thanks all Markus
  8. "The gasket was like a piece of granite bonded to the cover - very difficult to remove. " Just pulled my cover and got to thinking about how to remove the old gasket without damaging the flange. Any ideas? Also when I eventualy beat out those screws I think I'll have to get new ones, 25 years later they're not making it easy to come out:depressed:
  9. Don't mean to change the subject but I'm doing the stater and r/r tomorrow and if you changed the r/r where did you put it. Just from a quick look it doesn't look like it'll fit in original spot. Thnx Markus
  10. Speaking of air vents, I'm looking for the left one next to speaker cover. Here's an idea, I'll send you my right side you send me your left:whistling: just to look at something different seriously if anybody has one maybe something can be worked out markus
  11. Thanks for the reply. Couldn't find a 680 ohm so I picked up some 1k and 2.2k ohm. 2 bucks for a 5 pack so deffintly doesnt hurt the coin purse. I'll try the 1k first and see what happens. Markus
  12. I've checked the other posts on bypassing the battery monitor resistor and most people are saying to use a 1k or 2.2k resistor. The thing is I want to keep the monitor in place and my resistor wire is coroded and needs replacing, but the bands indicate that the original is only a 680ohm resistor. What would be better? Try and find another 680 or would a 1k work as the original did? Thanks Markus
  13. Even $3.46/G is a steal compared to Alberta. Were paying $1.14/L or about $4.35/G:confused24:

  23. I'm planning to head from Alberta to southern Arizona and spend some time in Maricopa. Then meander my way back to Calgary. The room prices I get is from online from either planned stops or areas close to my daily (as much as i might handle) riding range.
  24. I'm planning a trip this summer about 6 -7000 km, and with motels averaging $100/night, I think it will be cheaper to overnight at camp grounds ($23-$35/night). Now my question is; what would be a good tent to get, something quick to set up and tear down. And being 6'2" not to cramped. Thanks for any suggetions. Markus
