  1. From what I can see of the rear end it looks like a Ford 7.5. Interesting way of doing it, and seems to certainly work..
  2. I took out a pair of air horns that was under the faring, and planning to go back with a Sable....
  3. Got the pan today, and after I got finished with the Harley, I cleaned it up and it don't look too bad now,,, TNX Now if the gasket will only get here, and the painter will stare on the paint things can start moving again...... Oh yea used your tool on the tree when I put on the rake
  4. Did Brad route the hose on the right or left side ? I told him about moving it to the right side because there is more room, and the check valve can be under the seat instead of under the frame... Now if I could just stop breaking mine, and get the plastic back from the painter,,,, I could enjoy mine too...
  5. Well I thought I was till I started breaking things,,,,,,,,, 73 de KJ5IX _._
  6. Scotty You still around I sent you a PM and left a voice message. I still need a valve or a plug.... ( and time to work on it without breaking something )
  7. Garry "Dingy" has one on the way to me,,, Earl "Skydoc_17 is also a prince, and helped a lot(and has one if Gary's doesn't work out). I am going to get the chance to see the inside shortly I am sure of that....... and will let ya know how nasty it is inside..... Thanks for all the help. I may have to find someone close to help put this thing back together I seem to be breaking every thing,,,
  8. If I keep breaking things I will wind up with a complete new setup,,, I feel like William Bendix in The Life of Riley: "What a revolting development this is" Earl, I will PM ya Yepp: 31 Fp,,,but I was using a regular 17 mm wrench, and don't think I got that carried away Yea I looked, and they are some Nasty looking pans there, and not all the same.....
  9. I went out and looked at the bottom of the engine and it appears that all of the 12 bolts are accessible for removal. There will be a lot of prayer, and finger crossing going on here. I also shot a photo of where it broke/cracked. I have access to HeliArc and was thinking about welding it back but the crack is also in the threads. Probably a bad idea the pan is only 150 + gasket,,, I still cant figure out how this happened.... You can see the crack coming off the plug at a 45 angle to the right,,,,, http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/oilpancrack.jpg
  10. Gee thanks ! It is a first for me too.
  11. Me thinks; I is in deep Kemchie,,,, While I have the plastic, and body in the paint shop, I am doing things to get it ready to put all back together,,You know Plugs, fuel filter, cleaning under tank Oil and filter........ I drain the oil out and it sits for a few hours, and change the filter. When putting the oil plug back in I heard a slight "snap" or "click" I start putting in the new oil, and just for the heck of it look under ( more out of habit ) the bike, and holly crap!!!! Oil pouring out. Got a clean pan and caught 99% of it back, and then found that the Oil Pan had Cracked there at the plug........... How Screwed am I From the service manual it looks like there are 12 bolts that have to be removed. and a sensor. Now this was 11:30 last night, and I haven't given it a good examination, on the placement yet. The big question is can the oil pan be removed without loosing or removing the big part ( engine ) The part in the parts fiche ( I think ) is called Strainer Cover, 26H-13417-01-00 Holy Cow How did this happen............:bang head:
  12. OH I thought that the CD interface was through the pig tail off the cassette,,, I may have to get out the ole manual and schematic to see just where the CD plugs into. The MP3 Player isn't a plug in to the Aux MP3 it is a CD Emulator that emulated the 6 CD player, and is controlled by the handle bar controls (maybe) Though it is supposed to show 6 CD's mine on the 1800 shows 10 CD 0 twice at 99 songs per emulated CD. That is if ti works right. I may have to give you a call.....
  13. Yes ABS pipe cement will do it. Looks like Some One rested their self on the lid while it was open to me
  14. http://gl1800riders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252599 Good Info on that board
  15. Use to be able to find Dri_Slide in any good Ace or Auto Parts place I use Silicone spray most of the time. The 3-in-1 is a good idea too. I have a heck of a time getting the rubber boot back on the rear, when I pop it off for this.
  16. Thats the setup,,, Thanks Ponch. Now if I could just figure out where to move the Cassette to I would be in great shape,,,,, The best of all worlds. I need the Cassette for the interface to the CD to work with the MP3 Player/changer,,, A shot of her out getting a little sun yesterday; Working on the Tan Lines http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/nakidoutsude.jpg
  17. I agree I can go through the controls on the 1800 easy, and figured them out with out using the book ( for the most part ) but the Venture,,,,,,Well ya just need to have the book,, When I get the MP3 / CD interface figured out it wont be a problem all I will need then is to remember how to adjust the volume,,,
  18. ECK I don't think I have seen this set up before, I will need to either get a set of the short risers or new bars for the RSV that I just Triked out,,, to really get comfortable. What are they and where ??? Looks really Kool I see you on the 1800 board now and then also.
  19. Pushed her out in the sun to clean a few things. Sure looks Sad sitting there all Naked. It has only been three days, and two of them were closed days for the paint shop,, I am starting to be like a customer :Is it done yet" I have a Harley to start on tomorrow, so that will keep me busy for a couple of days. I already know the paint will be 7 good working days when they get started, and this could be the longest week to ten days this summer....... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/nakidoutsude.jpg
  20. Yes That is a core part for the Hannigan as well as the drive shaft. you can move the one off the bad rear drive (pumpkin ) to it
  21. That would be great, but I wouldn't hold my breath,,,,,,,, I didn't even look at mine, but I have it down to the nitty gritty and it wont be a big deal to pop off the caliper to see what they are putting on now.
  22. I have one also that I just took off. It to is off an 05 with around 18 to 20 K on it. It does not have the forward female coupling ( core part for the Trike kit ) .
  23. Not really,, I talked to Jim this afternoon about several issues that I have found, and a couple of suggestions. The gas tank was a snap compared to the new style triple tree that they sent me,,, a 4 hour project at most turned into a 2 1/2 day venture that involved travel, and a CNC machine to get it right That is in another thread I think.
  24. Good: Glad you reminded me of that... I have some to add, and the passing light too, with other things. Maybe I should make a list,, I am sure that I have some time to think, and re-think of things all of the pieces are in the paint shop all 28 of them.. I am sure that when I get it all back and just right, I will find that I have forgotten something.
  25. I gave that Serious thought, and now is the time to do it,,,,,but I have a MP3 player coming that plugs into the cassette,,,, and emulates a CD player, and is controlled through the handle bar controls ( we hope, I am the test bed on this one. The Honda set up is already on the market, by several companies ) Still may happen if the player doesn't work out. I would really like a Tac I love a Tac
