Yes that one does, and works very well too. I was referring to the Original post by Halfwitt, about wireing direct,,,:

No need to drill a hole there is a great big gapping hole right behind the light,,,, Run the extra wire from down low in the harness into the faring to the remote, and tap into the power point inside. A lot of weather protection under the hood.

BareFoot Willies Cup Holder on the Passenger Grab bars
kj5ix replied to Sleeperhawk's topic in Watering Hole
I used a water bottle basket for a bicycle from Wally World ($6.97) Clamped it right to the grab handle where the SO wanted it, and set sail. So far it is working out great, and doesn't look all that bad. You can squeeze or pull it in or out a little to make a good fit for the cup or container that is used. The SO has a water bottle that she always has with her so it is a one time adjustment for me.. I will look to see if I have any photos of it. You can see it in this photo, but bairley... http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/pinstriptrunk.jpg Here too if you look carfully. http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/pinstripright.jpg -
YES it would be on or energized the whole time the hi beam is on, and it most likely wouldn't be good for the remote as it is designed as a intermittent RF Transmitter. However there is another way to use this unit and others like it. Us the positive and negative leads off the power point in the faring for power, and trace out the Turn Cancel switch for the trigger to the switch on the remote. There very well could be 5 volts on one side of the turn cancel line, when pushed, but as a trigger that doesn't matter ( or it doesn't on the Goldwings that I have done ) It does require additional wire from the harness to the trigger switch on the remote though. I use .062 molex connectors that I ordered from Allied Elect. Any polarized connector will work.

I would use a little caution when adding a USB connector direct, as it is a 5 Volt device like most phones, and Ipods. Pouring 12 volts directly into the phone or Ipod will make a large mess, and in short order too. There is a voltage drop, and regulator in the plug in devices that prevents that.

Yea it seems like it,,, That is where the extra gas tank comes in handy.... Don't know for sure. I haven't had mine together long enough to get a proper feel for what it will do and get as far as MPG's. I do know it will "Cary the Mail, but wont Haul a Load" I seem to have a time keeping the RSV Trike under 70 + I like to cruse between 65, and 68 ( by GPS ) and even with the cruise set I catch myself adding a little with the left hand, and wind up some where around 75...
-
I got 27 to 29 last week end on my fresh Trike, but was haullin a hefty 75 pound tongue weight camper also,,, I think I got around 30 to 32 on the first tank or so. I have the extra tank and it is a little different figuring it out. The numbers keep changing,, I seem to get 135 to 140 on Full to Quit running before switching over to R, and pumping from the back to the front. I really don't know how much Full to Quit running is in quantity,,,, If I knew that I could get a better fill. Guess I will have to start getting gas when I hit Reserve on a few tanks to see...

Resizing is easy, and using IMG code or direct link is easy (if you have a place to put the photos Photobucket etc: ) but I haven't figured out yet how to do the Thumbnails and the mini slide show ,, Can that be done from a direct link, or do you have to upload them to this site...

Me too, and I have her permission to say that

There is a Reverse kit made but not by or through Hannigan, that is a little pricey, but works well. The option that Hannigan does have now is the extra gas tank. By all means get that and the rake for the front. I haven't really NEEDED a reverse on the RSV except to get it off the lift when I put it on there. It pushes easily. I rarely use the reverse on the Goldwing too,,,,,

I know that the Michelin Pilot Activ or the BT-45 Bridgestone are the preferred on the Goldwings along with the Mitz Lazertec. I haven't search out to see if there is a rear tire in the RSV size range. There is a lot more room under the RSV fender than there is on the GL1800 Which is "0"

Me too: both of them I just finished Bid Bird in the sig...... Why wait for the warranty to get up,,, I have a build post in the Trike board section while I was putting it together if ya want to see some of what is involved. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50351

That is for sure, I think I probably got 10 just for the Oil Pan thing,,,??
-
Seems like it runs in the family,,, Don it seems that there truly should be a DA Award
-
My next adventure will be to bypass that pesky switch..........
-
There just has to be an Award for Dumb,,,,,, Let me set this up a little. I just finished converting my 01 RSV to a Trike, and did a total repaint, which means that I had it down to the frame, and chassis for a month. OK did all of the thought needed maintenance including breaking the Oil Pan ( there has to be an Award for that too,, ) You know Plugs, filters air and fuel check wiring, and add wireing for things I added. Etc: Etc... I read the Tech info section or most of it, and have the manuals all downloaded ( great stuff here ) I noticed that the Ignition Switch connector has the dreaded HOT Spot on one wire. Checked it and re crimped it and put dilectric grease on it. Good to go..... Note here on the hot spot: Here in the Toolies I couldn't find a connector to replace it with, so fixed on it. But it is always in the back of my mind. We have been out on several trips 2- 300 miles here and there, and went camping last week end at one of the rallies that we normally attend.. All is well. Getting ready to head out to the Thunder in the Heart of Texas Rally this morning, and rid into town for gas, and work till 3 or so and hopefully head out. Get gas, and hop on to head on in to the computer shop, and What to my surprise,,,, Lights,Radio, every thing, but GoGo,,,Yepp ya got it Want do any thing......... OK I think Crap it happened to me this time, but better here in town than out on the road, but still 7 miles from home, and an easy way to work on it. OK I thinks,, maybe it will start if I get it going down the hill to the hi-way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NOPE ,,,,,NADA OK now I am in the middle of the road, and Zip I get a couple of guys to help me get the Trike to the side of the road, and I am thinking,,Ain't this the pits!!!! I have a trailer for just this situation for myself and others, BUT it is too narrow for the RSV Hannigan Trike,,,,, Double Crap!!! All right, I think I know what I need to do that will get me going and back to the house ( Maybe if I remember right from the articles ) Just pull the tank and jumper the connection that should do it.... just like adding the switch right,,, should work. Here I am on the side of the road with limited stock tool kit, and taking a fresh filled up full gas tank off..................... on the side of the road,,,,,, OK I have the seat, gas tank, a few bolts and stuff lying on the shoulder of the road, and a piece of wire trying to jumper the connection. Trying every combinatrion I can see ( both of them,, only two wires ) Nuttin still dead as a Stump.... and I am drawing a little of a crowd a couple of Goat Ropers, a truck driver, and a Sheriff . Now I am thinking I have to get it back to the shop some how. One of the guys there said he had a car hauler with a ramp and would go get it,,, Real nice of him, and headed off to get it. SAVED Sort of, but still stuck it want start still. I start putting it all back together to make it easier to load on a trailer, when he gets back. What a revolting development this is. I get it all back to gather, and as I was putting the rubber cover back on the tank tab on the right side I reached up to grab the handle bar to stand back up, and heard a CLICK!!!!!!! Yepp you guessed it.... I had hit the KILL Switch when I got on to leave the gas station by accident, and didn't know it............. An hour and a half taking it apart, and messing with this and that, and putting it back together ON the side of the road,,,,,,,,, and it was the darn Kill Switch... Where's my sign!!!!!!! Now can the kill switch be disabled so this can't happen again,,,, At least I know you can take a Venture apart on the side of the road... If you just have to...

iPod connection to CD connector in side luggage?
kj5ix replied to XV1100SE's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I have been working with Pete at Bike MP3 on this interface for some time now, and believe that it may be close to completion for the RSV interface. It will plug into the main harness in the faring and replace the CD Changer totally, and should have some limited control of the small unit in the trunk ( or saddle bag )- 12 replies

Great shots looks like it was a blast,, Who was on the Trike I saw some interesting things I would like to discuss...with them http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawk%20Mechanics%202010%20Gatlinburg%20ME/IMG_0794.jpg

I know that the RSV front tire has a rather large foot print compared to most other bikes. The Goldwing front tire is limited to one size, which cuts out many tires, those being the Michelin MPA, and the Brimstone BT-45, and Lazertech nothing else will fit in the fendrer.... Getting the mileage out of a front tire that I get on the Goldwing, may be a bit much to ask for, but who knows there may just be that magic combination out there. On the highway the Venture Trike doesn't seem as nimble as the GL. Weight and approximate size about the same ( except RSV is wider ) Lane changes take more effort it seems...

2cd gen rear wheel assy
kj5ix replied to Case522's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That was what I was asking for the one I have, but never got any interest on it though. Final and other things went into the dumpster,,,,,,,, -
Did a search on where to buy. and it says Wally World has it in the boating section,,, Will have to take a peek. Also at my favorite Motorcycle Superstore "Tractor Supply" May be worth looking into. I got really crappy mileage out of the Trike this past week end, but the 75/80 pound tongue weight might have had something to do with it......
-
I will have to check the local Auto Parts places to see if they might have it... Sea Foam is in Wally World, but pricey still.....

What ECK said,, not on the 1800.
