  2. To answer the actual question: Yes the CB antenna will receive AM/FM quiet well, with the exceptions being distant stations while on the open road. Any OEM Venture CB antenna will screw right on in place of the straight AM whip.
  3. Thats the first thing I saw too,,,

    screen name

I started out here with Tripod which is my brothers screen name on another board, but we were being confused between the other groups, so I changed it to what I am every where KJ5IX which is my Armature Radio License Call. Ha doesn't like or have a Yamaha and it was buggin him guess I should have left it Tripod if it was buggin him,,,,,
  5. I took the cap off a Road Star I have sitting here and put it on my 01 RSV, and it fit, BUT was hard to get off,,,, ( thought I had really messed up )
  6. I will try this on the Trike tomorrow for the first tank on a trip we are taking fully loaded again... To see if I get more than 105 miles on the main tank,,,
  7. The gap is .003 to .005 for the speed sensor. Here is where and how the Hannigan is places and attached It is about the center of the photo at the front of the rear end, and just behind the U joint. http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/oo265/kj5ix/01%20Venture/speedosinsor.jpg
  8. I may have mis-under stood the question,,, My way is for when you have the rear drive off, and cant stab the drive shaft......
  9. Yes there is. I bump the starter to where the forward spline is down ( use a flashlight to look up the tube ) then take the back boot loose from the rear part of the swing arm to be able to reach a long screw driver in and lift up the spline wile rocking the drive shaft a little to get it in. With the forward spline down when you lift it up it is in the middle where it can stab easy. Almost a two man job but with a little practice, and patience it is fairly easy.
  10. Try separating the connectors behind the faring a few times ( that will sort of clean the pins ) If that works use a dab of dielectric grease to seal the connector.
  11. I just noticed that your antenna's are on backwards.... No biggie if you never use the CB.....

  13. If they were installed as per the instructions, you are going to have to split the faring to check out the wiring, that is all there to it.... If they were not installed per the instructions you may have to strip it half way down just to find out how it was wired. Either way the faring is coming apart,,,,
  14. I had one for sale for 20 not long ago, and still have it off my 01 If you want it let me know.
  15. I almost smell a party coming on,,,,, I will be busy this next week, with building one, and the Colors Rally in Ark, and Dr apt the 26th in Dallas We may have to set something up and make a happening out of it,,,
  16. I have both 8 and 12 inch trailers. I set the pressure loaded. I spray a patch of the driveway with water, and pull it across the water and look at the pattern on the ground. If I only see the center tread of a tire I let air out until the whole tread is on the ground, and adjust up just a small tad for extra load. 15 to 25 is normal for these small tires. The max pressure marked on the sides are for max weight also, and I suspect that not many will be pulling a 1500 pound trailer with their bikes,,, This method works for me. On the 600 pound camper with 12 inch tires the pressures are Left 22 right 20 full tread on ground both tires. 18 and 20 for the Piggybacker with 8 inch tires.
  17. OH Crap, Dave your killin me,,,,, Does the offer to come and help still stand, and do you know how to sync carbs,, :rotf:I have a brand new carbtune, never opened,,, and not a clue ( for the moment, been too busy riding ya see,, ) OH I can see what little i have saved for ridding going out the window now :)
  18. I am finding the same thing here ( new to RSV Trike ) pulling the camper in 5th is a killer on gas I have found this next trip will try to stay in 4th as much as possible. My normal cruse speed is 65 I got as low as 19 MPG last trip..... Good thing I have the extra tank.
  19. The kit is around 12.5K with every thing. Installed Go on the Hannigan web site and you can down load the price list. Be sure to add in the creating and shipping cost also.
  20. I have been trying some of those on DaBay, but they go crazy at the last, and way out of sight for a 12 year old GPS. Almost like they have people running it up.
  21. Lookin Good You will love it. Did you get the extra gas tank?
  22. Been asking a similar question in the Trike board. I may have to contact a couple of past customers to see what they are using. It sort of sounds like a 130 would be the ticket for us.
  23. I am looking for a Garmin V GPS. For what I use a GPS for it is perfect ( basic Speed o ) If you have one that works, and is reasonable let me know. Email: revgp@starband.net
  24. I remember that there was a company or person that had replacement stators that made the out put some what respectful. The stock out put is fairly good, but the connection is the killer, and was very weak. Sort of like the ignition connection under the tank of the RSV's. I redid the connectors ( under the Left side cover ) with heave duty sure lock type, and had zero problems with the charging circuit. Pulled a trailer, and had two 55 watt driving lights under the front of the faring.
