  1. Good Grief Mark: You are truly blessed that you had already left the garage... I hope the insurance will cover it all. WOW Post this on the 1800 board they will enjoy it there also.
  2. Pillow tops would be good, but good luck I have been looking for a set for a while my self,,,
  3. If you are going to change it in short intervals like 4000 miles or so stay with Dino,, but if you are going to extend it like I do (10 to 12 K ) I use Rotilla T6 or Mobile 1 Rotilla is the least costly. Also if your going to change it often try the Wall Mart filters, I have been using them on the RSV and the GL1800
  4. The Hannigan kit removes the shock and replaces it with a solid bar to set the swing arm in a solid position so the swing arm doesn't move. As far as I know both known kits for triking use the swing arm. It is removed and not used on most of the Goldwing Trikes, and some Harlie's, but the Ventures retains it.
  5. I just got a set from him a month or so ago,,,,
  6. I have heated gear that I use when the temps get below 65 ( yepp I am a wuss ) I haven't really used it too much on the Venture Trike, but it is wired for it. I have been seen on the road on the Goldwing in 16 degrees for long trips though. I have read that the RSV's electrical system is a little weak for two up full heated gear (V7Goose I think ) When I figure out how to block the wind between the lowers and my knees, and face we may ride a little more,,,,
  7. Thats what I call it,,,
  8. Holy Cow that took 2 minutes to load on 3mb down
  9. I entered a photo contest for a ridding jacket Votes if you feel the mind to. http://173.83.121.164/wp-content/plugins/wp-photocontest/viewimg.php?img_id=162&post_id=2055&order=chrono
  10. Are you getting a Trike conversion or a Voyger style setup,,,,,,,,
  11. You guys do realize that this thread is a year old,,,,
  12. Lookin good Kite,,,,,, I see ya on the other board and your right it is a tough environment,,,
  13. I will have to check into this,,,, Always interested to see what is out there.
  14. It can be done I think,,, I bought a conversion kit for my Goldwing a few years ago for just that. The theory is the same, but the location and wire colors would be different of course. Basically what you do is place the relay in between the power (battery) and the switch on the right bar, with a small switch to trigger the relay that applies power from the battery to the flasher through the switch on the bar. ( that way the handle bar switch has to be used to actually turn on the flashers ) EC Electrical Connections has them for $29.95, but wired plug and play got the Gold wing, but could give you an idea on just what you would need. http://www.electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns_flasher-gl18.htm http://www.electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns-flasher-gl18.JPG
  15. I am one of the other guys that have been in contact with Pete in Fla. He was tied up with a CB project for the longest time. I have sent him the specs again, but haven't heard back He had a C-Buss cable made up for me to try but I haven't received it yet,,,, I will be calling him again Friday to see if I can get the Venture Project resurrected and his interest going again. The device works great on my GL1800. I have been using it for a year or better on it. The one referenced here by J&M is the same device, and they just sale them, Pete with BikeMP3 does the R&D for the fitments.
  16. I will trade ya so you can be with the in crowd,,,,, Wished I had bulbs,,,
  17. Yea me too. They can be a bit over bearing there, and you should check out the OT and hotbox if you think the regular forum is bad......
  18. The buttons you speak of don't have lights,, Now for the interesting part on the Nav ( which is a waste in my opinion ) If you have a week to read it all here is a link to probably the best information. 841 replies you will have to sift through the most of it to get the info needed. The parent directory has a lot of good How To's for the 1800 http://gl1800riders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171213 There is also a great board there on electronics and such. The hottest things out right now is the CB and MP3 player by Bike-mp3 http://gl1800riders.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27 Waite to you want to change the air filter the book says 12000, but it is good to at least 24 to 30 unless you live in the desert or a rain forest. I changed mine at 38K and it wasnt too bad looking.
  19. Thanks for the update I knew they were going to move yesterday if they could. Still praying. I will copy this on another board to keep the update going.
