  1. Did you see the photos in my other thread.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55340
  2. I'll pull a fin cover tomorrow, and see. Cant imagine it leaking there, and no sign of some at the base of the cylinder,,, I did check the nuts on the fins, and they are good and tight
  3. Goose Could the leak that I have developed be coming from a freeze plug. There are no signs on the engine, mine are all under the center, and just showed up here in the last week or so when the temps dropped at night to 25 a few nights.
  4. Where I found oil to be seeping once or thought it was,, was good and clean now ( I cleaned it good a couple of months ago ) I wiped off the anti freeze and rode it for an hour or so this afternoon get it good and warm, and give every thing a good old fashion circulating. I could of course smell the anti freeze when stooped, and when I got back it was good and dry except for a single drip at the end of the rubber tube that is around the clutch line ( or I think it is the clutch line ) Just above the sender thingy that I thought was where the oil was coming from there is a rubber covered line with a banjo head going into the engine body. Right now I cant really tell if there was any anti freeze there or not just yet that is,,, Have to let it cool for a day or so.

    Got Ran Over

No Joke Had that happen to me on a Honda 750K1 once,,,Not fun!!!! Glad you were in the cage.
  6. Quick shots of underneath. Later when I get a chance to jack it up maybe I can get better shots. In the first photo, way up at the top there is a line that goes to the side of the engine, that is where I think the oil was coming from, but now it seems the anti freeze is covering that side too,, I hope to jack it up maybe tomorrow to give it a really good look, and it will be warmer then too I hope.
  7. Have this on another forum but the experts are here,,, I have noticed here in the past month or so that I have a very slight oil drip in the center of the engine. I think I have traced it to a location that is going to near impossible to check and tighten the small bolts on the left side of the engine up, and behind the covers. It doesn't seem to do it all of the time, just when it sits for a while. But then again it hasn't sit for long until now. I will try to get a photo of the area that I think it is coming from this week end and post it. I also noticed that the sight glass for the oil is full,,, I thought that I had filled it to just above the top mark ever so slightly,,,,,, Now the strange thing... I looked yesterday to just check the drip, and saw a drop or two of anti freeze hanging on the same line that there has been oil. What the heck!!! My shop varies greatly in temperature, and I figure that the line or a clamp is shrunk due to cold, and reheat ( to a degree ) I am puzzled on this a little.... Any Ideas.
  8. It is black ABS, and can be painted. I know of two that have painted theirs on the Honda board. Don't know the process, but they looked good to me. My Piggy is still Henry Fords favorite color.......... Black... the HF is the same box.

    This sux

Wow Monty glad you were there close to help, and that everyone got away unhurt. That is the best of it; the family is intact. You could ( if you have one ) use a generator to back feed the house at a dryer port to get the well pump on and drained for the time being.
  10. No McGuver'ing just go to Tractor Supply and get two 12 inch tires, and wheels for $59.95 ea and put them on. I have done that to three and now have a lot of spar tires for my Piggy,,,,, As for the 55 MPH Warning Who reads instructions,,,,,
  11. It does not appear to have a steering ( rake ) kit installed That would IMHO be the first priority for comfort You will know when you ride it for sure...
  12. Yea that happens out here a lot,,,, I saw a few of the decals
  13. We will have to meet up so I can give it the once over,,, Looks good. I haven't seen the MT kit yet. Get all the info you can on it if possible.
  14. I gave both sets of mine a good spraying of Camp Dry about a week or so apart, and haven't had any water problems.
  15. It's you. All of the stuff I get is cheap for the bikes NOT
  16. Here it is http://lh6.ggpht.com/_WbJaGfbnlVo/TP6ydEODOFI/AAAAAAAAF0I/yfinwY00Pjo/L%20%26%20N21.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_WbJaGfbnlVo/TP6yj4PYqxI/AAAAAAAAF0M/7ESPAgpLPgE/L%20%26%20N%2022.JPG
  17. Looks a lot like my 04 does it have all of the electronic doodadery in it and on the wheel,,,,, neat to play with on the road...
  18. They don't Larry They did in 01 I think for a real short time. A MT kit is a good kit. As far as I know the Hannigan or Triwing are it for the RSV line. 15K ain't a bad deal if it is solid, I would think. Gunboat: did you get any pictures,, I would like to see it myself...
  19. I prefer the heated gloves, and have the G3's I have the connection under the tank in the rear on the Venture, and under the side cover on the GL. I use the portable controllers and adjust the heat as needed. Cant beat the setup. Here is how the Goldwing is setup, and on the Venture I have to clip the controller on my jacket ( for now any way)
  20. I see this all the time, when I see something I look first at shipping, then their asking price If shipping is out of line I just move on,,,,
  21. Mine is water proof And I have a portable to match......
  22. Mine is also off by a good 4% or better on both the Goldwing, and the 01 Venture. I use the GPS as the speedo on both. As far as actual and true mileage I don't really think it matters once you get past a certain point,,, You can get a device called Yellow Box and put it in the speedo circuit that will bring it to more true speed but the mileage is still off.
  23. I have done that and it works great,,, Until you go in the restaurant and leave them on for an hour,,, the battery was dead as a hammer when we got ready to go,,,
