Trust me when I tell you they aren't just targeting bikes. Truckers are paying big time down there. With the split speed limit it's hard to run 55 with cars running 65 or faster. Especially around the toll roads, I'm not sure why they are hammering us right now. I'd like to say it's all about the money but they have a new governor now and maybe he's got issues with speeding vehicles. The construction zones are really bad, 45 with cars running 65 or faster. That speed limit is good for cars to but you try to pick one when they all go that fast! Plus considering alot of truckers are from out of state and just going through, it's easy to give them a ticket. You don't make the citizens of your state mad. Best advice is 5 over on good roads but in construction I only run 3 over. It's just not worth spending money on speeding, not with all that chrome to buy for these bikes!

So last time I was out riding as I went around a corner I heard that familiar sound of metal hitting ground. Kinda like dropping a wrench on concrete. I pulled over right away to check out my baby and didn't see anything odd or wrong with her. Rode the few miles to home and looked it over a little better but still didn't see anything. Skip forward to today and I jump on for a short ride and I can hear a a rattling noise coming from the back of the bike. So I jump off determined to locate this racket once and for all. Start with the trunk, nothing loose a broken. Move to the bags, nope still nothing. OK let's check safety chrome, yep there we go. The right saddlebag guard is the source. Apparently the end cap bolt came loose and I lost both the bolt and the little cap that connects to the crash bar(near passenger foot). So the question is, can I buy just that part or is it one of those all or nothing things? Or if anyone has one off a crashed bike and that rail is damaged and they don't need that little end cap I'd be happy to purchase it from them. Thanks in advance, I'll be outside doing a thorough nut check. Stop it you know what I mean!

Ride in the Fox Lake, WI St Patrick's Day Parade March 15
Danimal replied to Scooter Bob's topic in Watering Hole
I had a ball, we rode right behind the burnout bros. After the parade we took a left into the alley and Ken went straight. I kinda had to take a leak and I knew I'd never get close to a restroom so my brother and I headed over to Randolph. Then we took 73 north to 44 to CR-A to Green Lake. We just kept running north to Berlin then over to Omro, Winneconne and then home. Ain't it great having a bike you can just keep on riding forever. Anyway it was great to see you again and to meet your lovely new wife. Ken it was cool to meet you also. I think your bike is awesome you've got a ton of after market stuff on that bike and it's nice since we have the same year and same color I can see what I would like to have next. I'd love to ride with either of you guys again your exactly what this group stands for. Friendly people who love this bike and CHEESE!!! Danimal -
I want mine to have a elavator like in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. Just push a button and it takes me anywhere. Or at least EFI, and maybe a cd player in dash with mp3 port still available too. I think that would be just the ticket. The golden ticket that is. Dan

Well finally got out. Was 43 degrees today. Only rode about twenty or twenty-five miles today but man did that feel good. I was at my local dealership and they brought out a roadliner for someone to test drive. Then before they could take it back in I started asking some questions about it. Well Tom there said jump on and take it for a spin, didn't have to tell me twice.lol They knew I wasn't gonna buy cause I'm a venture guy. Still it was fun with a ton of torque to boot. Not exactly my style of machine but for a second ride maybe it would be all right. Probably would go with a roadstar if given a choice though. But if you like the looks it would certainly be a blast to own. Anyway taking my bike out tomorrow supposed to be 47 for a high. Oh they had two 07's there for sale blue/black and a really pretty red and black one too. I bought my 07 from their sister store last year. Really great folks Team Winnebagoland on Oshkosh, Wi they also own Team Motorsports in Green Bay, Wi. Danimal

Scooter Bob that name sure does sound familar. I think we may have a had drink together at the summer hummer a few years ago. Your part of the group that put the showers up right? Was thinking of coming down for the parade tomorrow. I'll ask my bro if he wants to take a ride with me. He's got a roadstar. Anyway if'n we don't make it have a blast and if we can we'll see you there. Dan -
Me too! If it fits my schedule, I'd have to ride a couple hours just to start though. Could always leave early to get home too I guess. Would be fun maybe we could get some members from up this way to take the trip down together? Dan

I'd a spent my money on a roof for that car. Sorry I'll just go out and finish shoveling now:crying:. Looks great. Dan

Did you say spring is almost here because it's snowing so hard outside right now? Man is it coming down hard. I don't think springs ever gonna get here. It was really nice in Chicago on thursday and friday, wanted to be on two wheels but was stuck on eighteen. Oh well time to shut the blinds and pretend its too hot outside to go out. The rustic roads in Wisconsin are really cool with a ton of things to see. I miss riding so much right now. Ugggggggghhh. So frustrated today. Take care Dan

Be careful with that locktite!!!! It expands in the whole and will break plastic. One type is OK but don't remember which it is. Someone will chime in. Dan

Well I'm not sure if it's a lion or not here. 15F for a high today, 10F for a low. Today's record high 60F (1992), todays record low -21F (1962). No precipitation today and it's supposed to be 40 by thursday with rain. Boomer if I see that lion I'll send express mail so you can stuff'm. You crack me up I can't wait to see if you posted just to read what it says at the end. Danimal

Hey man thats a pretty blue. I'd call it yamaha blue. It's tough to go out on the road again but nothings forever. Who knows in six months things could happen that we wouldn't even imagine now. The important thing is your doing what it takes to live and get by. I remember the 70+ hour work weeks my old man put in to take care of his family and yours will too. Those are things they learn by seeing you do it. You'll have the same respect from them that I have for my pops. If you get up here give a shout first ones on me!! Danimal

I'm so tired of this crap! It's time for a call of peace! When will the mother in laws realize that it's wrong to attack our bikes? I'll be the first person to say it, there is no place in this world for mother in law on venture violence:rotfl:. There it's been said, someone had to say it and we all know it. Anyway I sure hope she heals well and fast you can replace the bike but a great Mom in law is almost impossible to find. Danimal

Oh man I can't think of a better fit. New Orleans could use the tourism. Plus the food and culture of that place. Plus they know how to handle crowds (Mardi Gras). And it seems that Florida doesn't really want the bikers anyway. Perfect, sure sounds like that would be a ball. Danimal

Those front two plugs!!!
Danimal replied to Danimal's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK finished it today!! Went back together really easy, well except the gas line was still tucked under the tank when I finished . But fixed that pretty quick. This is what happened. I started it and the miss was gone  but it still smoked alot. So the seafoam's been in there for 36 hours and I thought I'd let it idle for awhile to see if anything would happen. It quit smoking while idleing and it would still blow some smoke when I'd rev' er but it seems like less than before. So now I'll just hold off for warmer weather then I'll go out and crank it a little going down the highway. Maybe that will burn out all the garbage in the carbs. Thanks so much to everyone who held my hand thru this process, I COULD NOT have done this you guys. Danimal -
We just bought a walker this weekend. Nice little horse, no papers so you know its a keeper . Anyway Karen's last horse died unexpectedly and she's been looking for the right one for about 9 months. Now she can't tell me I ride to much anymore . They are a lot of fun but a ton of work too. But yeah they cost plenty along the way. Danimal

Those front two plugs!!!
Danimal replied to Danimal's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Alright got it!!!! Unfortunately I didn't blow out those areas before I got going. I don't have access to air so I'm just hoping for the best at this point. I'll go pick up some plugs tomorrow and pray tonight that nothing fell in there! I should have known better but I'm just not mechanically inclined. Thanks again for all the help guys, I'll try to update this when I'm all done. Danimal -
Those front two plugs!!!
Danimal replied to Danimal's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK thanks Cougar , so your saying to remove the res at the bolt not at the hex nut right? And they make a better spark plug socket for this then? A swivel socket is like a U joint right kinda thingy right? This bunch of people are the best! Not everyone would be willing to help a person the way you folks do. Thanks everyone Venturerider's rock! Danimal -
Those front two plugs!!!
Danimal replied to Danimal's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
OK so first of all thanks for the responses. So I go to the dog bone on the right side and the first three come out fine but the fourth is behind the rear resivoir (spelling?) Can't get my socket with 8mm in there. T handle doesn't give me enough torque to turn it. So do I remove the resevoir? Do I need to have someone hold that up and level? Am I making this too hard? Also do I have the right spark plug tool, it looks like the one in the manual has a hole in it for a screwdriver to break it loose. Mine doesn't I had to put a 11/16 on top and use my breaker bar so I could get at it from an angle from way up there. Moneys no object here as long as it's less than $20 lol. Thanks again Danimal -
Hi folks, So here's what happened, I never winterized my Gen 2 because I had plans to haul down south sometime this winter. Plus I got lazy and hunting and football and blah blah blah. So we finally got a little warmer weather last week and I started it up last week anyway bad gas plus I think I flooded it. So it wouldn't run very well and had smoke pouring out the pipes more on the left side than right. Yesterday I drained the tank and then added sea foam but it still ran poorly. Today I pulled the tank (huge accomplishment for me) and managed to pull the two rear plugs. They were both wet and pretty black, now how the heck do I get to the front ones? There is just a ton of stuff in on top of them. I can't figure it out. I did a search but just didn't happen find what I was looking for. Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!! Danimal

The Victory Vision has the most room available. imho I'm six four and was really comfortable on it. Just not my cup of tea as far as looks go. It ain't cheap either! But sometimes big guys just have to go for comfort instead of looks. (Think big mans clothing) Not alot of choices for us sometimes. The roomiest bike I ever owned was a Kawasaki drifter 1500 it had a ton of room. But no trunk, radio, cruise, and no cassette deck either. Alot of my Harley friends claim they got used to the ultra's size though and they are big too. Best of luck in your search. Danimal
