Man you got me so worked up I completely forgot the original intent of my post! I've had this idea floating around a few years now. Having just left the sign/graphics business after 31 years now might be the time to put this idea on the front burner. Never feel compelled to wave again and never feel guilty for any breach of wave etiquette! With the computerized, relay powered, 3D printed waving hand accessory you can ride without even noticing other bikes are on the road! The camera senses EVERY bike before you even notice they're coming. The programming senses the style of bike and issues the appropriate response through the robotic hand that appears out of the canister mounted on your left fairing . (Picture The Adams Family) A digital sign version would be easier but the old fashioned analog hand would be warmer and retain the spirit of the emotion. Don, We have geeks, relay zealots, and now Ipleedthe5th is bringing fuel injection to the 1st gens after his initial airbox mod for universal filters. With all our resources could the forum produce a mechanical waving hand accessory and market it to all riders? This forum is only going to grow now that Yamamama finally got off the pot. Gotta find more income to support the extra bandwidth!

I kills me emotionally. If I don't wave and the other party does at the last minute I'm too late and feel like I've been antisocial. If I'm feeling good and I initiate the wave I wonder if the other party is thinking, "Why can't we all just RIDE?!!!! If I wanted to be social I'd join the Masons!" If I wave and they don't I wonder are they antisocial or are they one of THOSE kind of people that believe there should only be one brand of anything in the world? If they initiate the wave and then realize what I'm riding after we get closer I wonder, "Do you wish you could take it back?" Then I get worried that I'm paranoid. Maybe I should take the riders class?

86 Carb problems
Venture n Dixie replied to JimRoberts's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I noticed Taz is on your friend list. He's in Montevallo & has rebuilt Venture carbs before. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?75252-checking-float-level-on-96-01-royal-star-28mm-carbs There's a video available. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?119186-Bought-Carb-Rebuild-Video-by-Damon-Ferraiuolo&referrerid=9346 Last & probably least, I'm in Pell City & have 2 dead Ventures in my driveway. If you want to get together & put them out of their misery let me know. Bert -
Puc. You obviously need hearing aids! I clearly heard him say ,"Don't distract me when I'm CTFW!" Couldn't make out what he said while holding the jar. Something about DQ?

I've had the disease all my life. 2 dead Ventures in the driveway is my connection to this family. It hit me in the face a few years ago when I came home from Harbour Freight with a bag of "useful items I'll be glad I had on hand one day." Went to hang them in the tool cave and there was a Harbour Freight bag with the same items! Think I'll peek in the tool cave tomorrow and try to find what seemed to be so necessary. Thanks for rousing my curiosity.

Only when I can find one. Currently on a 06 Corolla 5 speed. I call it my Lil Red Gocart. Worried that when I wear it out there won't be a replacement. Thinking I might be to old to drive then or independent transportation will be history so it won't matter. It's only got 220,000 miles on the clock at this point so I'm expecting another 10 years of fun.

I totaled the same truck (93 Mazda B4000 4L V6) two years ago. Lady not familiar with this town saw a yard sale to her left and went for it. Hit me on front left fender. Didn't look to bad except my wheel/spindle was 90 degrees off. I rented my son in laws truck with "the beautiful phone voice" 1st SF insurance callers blessing. They offered $4000 on it because I itemized everything I'd done on it the past few years. 21 year old truck 300,000 miles. When he called to confirm amount I forgot he hadn't included rental. I called back within 30 seconds but couldn't get an answer. Posted to my online settlement page. Next day check writer guy calls to confirm appointment. I told him amount was incorrect because rental hadn't been included. A month went by and I feared I had been abandoned. No response to calls, email or online claim. I posted another bill for rental at their stated rate of $37 a day. I got a call from the adjuster in a week. He didn't push it very hard. Asked if I'd agree to the $4000+$1000 stated rental would I settle today? I jumped on it knowing he was trying to get out of the last week's rental but glad to get enough for a lower mileage replacement. Moral of this story? My brother was an adjuster. They are spread way too thin. Their #1 mission as defined by the company is to settle claims as fast as possible because the longer it's open the more it costs. Chiropractors are their worst nightmares because they sign you up for life. I'm not saying to milk it but don't let their fast moving "You need to jump through our hoop now" tactic make him do something he'll regret. Be sure before you sign. Are you saying you were an adjuster?

Hate to tell you Puc but you've been scammed. Do you really think Tippy would leave you home alone not knowing exactly what you'd do? Women store that stuff in their memory bank. When you come up with the best idea you ever had she's gonna pull that ace out with a song that questions your sanity, sense of responsibility and love for your family. And you won't have a leg to stand on! On the other hand, God made warm winter days for something I'm sure. And you did do it all for Samuel. Nope.... you don't have a chance. Too bad. Skydiving with him would have been fun!

Now for phase 2. My mother is 92 and my brother and I got her keys a year ago when she was hospitalized a month with low blood pressure. She had already transitioned to a basement apartment at his house. He just retired so he and wife were able to drive Ms Daisy to Dr, groceries, stores, events and church. Sounds easy until you're locked in to that routine. They insisted I come up every other weekend to give them a break. Although I'm glad they instigated me investing this time in her twilight years, it's a big commitment to drive 2 hours every other weekend and hear the same complaints, forgetfulness and resentment multiple times every visit. So I'm doing this ~50 days a year. Bro and and sister in law 315. If your dad is positive and self motivated he'll be way ahead in the game as long as he can count on his family and friends to be his legs, eyes, cheerleader and friend. When folks start losing there independence depression wants to creep in. I suggest your team make a scheduled calendar so everyone knows who does what when. He'll know he's loved, not alone on an island and you might be surprised how much fun you can have on a double date with geriatrics!! I've learned a lot about myself by hanging around my mom this year.

"The sad truth is there is nobody running for office that would do what you have done for this country, they dont have the fortitude and would never sacrifice what you have" Since Alabama is a designated red state I'm not forced to get in the Hellery vs Chump debate. I'm writing in Darrell Castle. He pretty much represents my feelings. I find it interesting that in this day and age of self publishing, unlimited access to information via the net, cell phones, Sea Foam, fuel injection and 3rd generation Ventures we're still prisoners to the bureaucracy of these two parties.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darrell_Castle

Prayers requested
Venture n Dixie replied to Freebird's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Thanks for resurrecting this thread. Good timing. Relieving my brother every other weekend to stay with mom. At 91 she's ready to go & has no motivation to live. She's been active in church all her life yet here in the final stretch the negativity is overwhelming. It's encouraging to hear some of my brothers speak truth, strength & faith. -
I blame Windows 10 for EVERYTHING! Whenever it wants to it decides it's more important to get an update than actually making money. The real thorn in my side is when it decides "Time to reboot. Screw you!" My PC (work) drives a piece of equipment & until now as long as the PeeSee was powered the machine kept running. No longer. If it f... up a job, SO WHAT? Wish I COULD use a Mac but it doesn't work with this setup. I'm surprised open source https://www.osalt.com/windows#alts hasn't already killed Micro$oft. Then again nothing is surprising anymore.

Poopouri is the Seafoam of the men's room at work. Only problem is the guy with the most toxic exhaust thinks he's too high class to touch a bottle with a name like that. If anyone has to go after him we use 2 squirts. He's that bad. (1 squirt is all it takes for your average redneck) He's from the upper crust of the big city though and eats Chinese food so he's a 2 squirt exception. IT WORKS!

So... Asher's wife, now that you have the picture of a LazyBoy on wheels have you determined your first destination? We have meet n greets, maintenance days, ice cream runs, charity ride to St Judes, rallies and just good fellowship. Pick an event and I bet it will motivate Asher to step up his game on the restoration.

1983 Venture engine bad
Venture n Dixie replied to Nightwind15's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Is the whole transmission bad? 2nd gear failure is a common issue but a lot of folks continue riding without it. Puc seems to be the current champion in that category with over a million miles without 2nd. -
It's been said that some of the lady passengers SLEEP on the back. Makes me nervous just thinking about it.

What did I do to irritate the motorcycle gods?
Venture n Dixie replied to luvmy40's topic in Watering Hole
Didn't want to hijack with an oil discussion. Just got my attention that Clive buys 5 gallon buckets of oil. Wow! ??? -
What did I do to irritate the motorcycle gods?

At the risk of hijacking the thread with an oil war debate, inquiring mind wants to know. Tried searching your posts for the answer but "oil" is such a common term. -
speaking of... I've discovered my old Blackberry streams The free version of Pandora ad free. What's up with that? Pandora has gotten so bad and clunky on my pee see,iPhone and kindle that I've switched to TuneIn and other services. How does the blackberry filter it? Just so this isn't a 100% hijack, I bet when my iPhone locks up I won't remember this hot key. Not like cntl alt delete that gets used so much I dream about in my sleep.

Flooding in La.......................
Venture n Dixie replied to DragonRider's topic in Watering Hole
If it's doable cars should be jacked up and put on blocks. Computers put in highest possible place. Went through a 100 yr flood at work in 2003 and lost several cars, lot of computers we thought were high enough. When water reached my bellybutton we realised it was too little too late and had to evacuate. Leave if the house could get washed away. Sounds obvious but all employees were frantically trying to save stuff and we were fortunate we didn't loose THEM! Happened so fast we were unprepared.
