Unless you or someone else told them what happened, they might still be unaware they've been infected or what to do about it. It really scares me when I get these emails from people I think are smart & cautious enough to prevent this.

Progressive shock
Venture n Dixie replied to mralex714's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Don't know if this helps or hurts but here's what they were selling in 2002. Looks like they'll rebuild it for you so they should have any lit you'd need. Ask. http://web.archive.org/web/20030126034404/http://progressivesuspension.com/applications/partsnf.asp?Mcat=YAMAHA&Scat=Venture_Std&Tcat=83-88- 9 replies

Got a splash of laquer thinner in my eyes a few years ago. Besides burning like h*** vision was foggy. By the time I got to eye doc 30min. latter, vision was improving. Doc put something in my eyes to ease the discomfort & said the eye is the fastest healing tissue in the body & that it was already mending. Hope all goes as well for you.

When I lost the key to my 83 I put it on a trailer & left it with the locksmith for a week. He got the igniton key made but it didn't work on the luggage even though 1 key fits all. Another day or so & he had 1 key that fit everything (ign, gas, bags, trunk). $75 for 3 good keys. I've never been able to remove the bags but I think the locks are just stuck.

Auto Zone fires employee who stopped robbery
Venture n Dixie replied to ADC's topic in Watering Hole
I was in retail management with a large drugstore chain 25 years ago and the policy was the same back then. Glad I don't have to make large drop box deposits anymore. -
The worst part is everything he says is ABSOLUTELY TRUE! When I went, I discovered a secret floor of the hospital where they only employ beautiful female nurses that are 9 and above on the 1-10 scale. When Miss America wheeled me in to the sacrificial room there were 2 more of them waiting for me. I felt like a stray puppy about to be euthanized. Then a nice looking buxom brunette in a tight skirt (a little closer to my age) walked in & said, "Good morning. I'm Dr. _ _ _ _. I passed out soon thereafter only to find myself in the remove your clothes room asking Miss America to marry me. My wife appeared within 30 seconds. I haven't talked about it much in 17 years. My wife tells me to shut up, stop whining & I don't have a clue. Something about payback. All I know is I'll probably blow a gasket early from not getting my oil checked, but hey we all gotta go somehow.

A little late since it's this weekend but for anyone else in the area the Barber's Vintage Weekend near Birmingham Alabama is a great event. http://barbermotorsports.com/park/

Reading anything Miles posts reminds me of going to the high end car shows at Pigeon Forge. I think, #1. "Wow that's beautiful what someone did to that pile of rusty metal or perfectly good piece of transportation!" #2. "I wish I had the time, money, brains, patience and space to do that." and #3. Even though #2 might never happen, I sure like watching the show! Kudos to Miles for thinking outside the box. Might not apply to a low budget just get me from point A to B mentality like mine, but a little spice is nice!

Gee... That kind of negates a key feature of the bike. Removable suitcases! I can only imagine how it was 30 years ago when everything worked as intended.

When I lost my key to the 83 I trailered it to the locksmith & left it for a week. 1st key he made worked in the ignition but not the luggage. After more work he got 1 key to fit everything BUT I have yet to get the locks that release/remove the sidebags to work. Don't know if they're keyed different or just stuck. Seems like he charged $60 for 3 keys. Just bought a 94 Ford Ranger w no key & have to do the same thing again...

gray looking Pex Not sure where to buy it anymore it's been in for 32 years. UH OH! That sounds like the crap Phillips Petroleum unleashed on the mobile home industry. Turned thousands of trailers in to sprinkler systems. If so, be prepared for more leaks. http://www.contractormisconduct.org/ass/contractors/71/cases/1035/1419/royal-dutch-shell-polybutylene-pipe_settlement.pdf

Riding has never been the same......
Venture n Dixie replied to kevin-vic-b.c.'s topic in Watering Hole
Waiting at a traffic light this morning, I witnessed a car make a left turn in front of an oncoming car. Neither slowed down. Both on cell phones. They barely missed each other. Made me realize, I probably not only need to stop riding, I need to wear a helmet & put a roll cage in my car. -
Specificaly the OLD PM when articles had useful content and were more than glorified ads. Only drawback is now that my laptop died I can't take the forum to "the Library"! Now what were we talking about?

I just realized why I waste so much time reading this forum. It's like Popular Mechanics was in the 60's and 70's with a heavy emphasis on motorcycles!
