  1. Exactly what I was thinking
  2. Well, here I am resurrecting an old thread. A year ago I bought the flanders #650-08783 bars for my 05 RSTD and have put a good 10K with them and the pullback is great, but I was again thinking about those Paul Yaffe mini apes, so I looked at the Kids dimensions on the ones that he put on. I have played with the height of the bar ends in the past and today raised them again. So now, my seat height is 25" and the bar grips are at 44". The grip ends are at 36" and the middle of the grips are at 32" The big difference is the grip position, more straight out on the mini apes than mine. I just went out for a ride and I like it. Still like the mini apes though.
  3. WOW! 116 views and no one knows the answer?? It would be the same one as for the Venture. No one has lowered the front of their bike with the barons slugs? OK, new question, and this one might be easier. What's the length of stock metal fork preload spacer?
  4. I've been running a 130 on the front of my 05 RSTD for 10 years with no problems. Running a Shinko 777 WWW right now [h=1][/h]
  5. Well, that's good to know, thought maybe they were doing br-anal surgury and forgot to plug the hole. The number of posts thing has been screwed up for a long time. Never bothered to mention it cause it doesn't matter to me.
  6. hey cowpuc, i see a new avatar. Is that a hole in your head???????
  7. Renton Wa to Castlegar Canada, 390 miles-What a gorgeous ride that would be?
  8. I think the 10" mini apes would put you about there.
  9. OK, I found what you need. Rick/Butt Butler was doing this, but don't know if he is anymore. Here is the link: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?13098-Brake-Proportioning-Valve-The-Butler-Mod One more thing, if you would run a CT on the rear that would help.
  10. This is the link to a thread, might be it, and this is the pics. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?89584-2nd-Gen-FINALLY-gets-Apes&highlight=paul+yaffe
  11. That's what I thought too, but was told that they are not fireproof. So I bought a fireproof safe rated at 1850 for two hours and maintains below 350 degrees.
  12. And why is that?----------Yup, it's the WW's
  13. search for mini apes here. Not only has it been done, but they look great and he said that they were great. Don't remember who it was Here is the set I've been thinking about putting on my RSTD: http://www.ebay.com/itm/311450435324?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  14. That is so terrible to hear that I hardly know what to say other than I wish you my very best in the aftermath of the fire.
  15. I want each of you to take a longgggg hard look at this color combinationdd I've always liked that color combo
  16. You really need one of Starfans Lighted covers, don't ya think?
  17. Your cold????????????? Maybe you should have some cheese with that whine. Your wife said that you better not show up at home with dirty WW's so keep at it. And were a watchin your progress.:icon_lurker:
  18. Critical Thinking At Its Best! Woman: Do you drink beer? Man: Yes Woman: How many beers a day? Man: Usually about 3 Woman: How much do you pay per beer? Man: $5.00 which includes a tip.(This is where it gets scary !) Woman: And how long have you been drinking? Man: About 20 years, I suppose Woman: So a beer costs $5.00 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450.00. In one year, it would be approximately $5400.00 correct? Man: Correct Woman: If in 1 year you spend $5400.00, not accounting for inflation, the past 20 years puts your spending at $108,000.00 correct? Man: Correct Woman: Do you know that if you didn't drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari? Man: Do you drink beer? Woman: No. Man: Where's your Ferrari?
  19. Hey, all you WW lovers, vote now and vote often.
  20. A new bike is always exciting, or at least it should be. It'll be great to have it at home I'll bet, and have a safe ride. Don't forget the rain suit.
  21. Hope this link works: http://thebikeshed.cc/2016/04/01/kevils-ural-750-combo-the-tourist/
  22. Well, you found yourself a real beauty there Don, but I do like the WW's.
  23. The hard part is pushing the bike backwards about 20 feet uphill and over a threshold to get it out of the shed that it lives in. That is a lot of stress on the foot. Thought you built a device to rotate that thing in the shed? You definitely need a new plan!Pushing it 20 ft uphill is most deffinately not a good one. Glad you had a good ride though.
  24. This is from last time: SOooooo.......... I am agreeing with some kind of float issue. So, did you do that carb work/replacement that you were going to do? AND you mentioned your WIFE? Did you say WIFE?
  25. The HD pump is the one you want-buy it
