So, with what I have read and what Orrin has said, it would make more sense to put the valve on the rear then, right? Steve

You've got an awfully nice neighbor to be passing out venison tenderloins. I'm a nice guy, but sure as hell not that nice. So, I'm picturing a scbbord on the side of that 1st gen - pics? We live on venison in this house, and it's about time to replenish the supply Nice mounts paul, but the guitars are awsome. When I was going through WV some years back, I bought a homemade turkey call from a fellow out there. And it does the job! Steve

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. It's not exatly like the 60s, when there weren't many of us riding. Steve

Hey Boo, I was on the Kitty hawk, CVA-63 in 63 & 64 then to the Randolph CVS-15, from 64 to 67. Biggest waves I saw was off of cape haderus. Over the flight deck. that's a BIG WAVE. Steve

You're about to find out who is the stongest, you or the habit. I smoked a pack a day for 24 years and quit 3 times, twice for 9 months and once for 2 years. I finally quit cold turkey in 87 and have'nt had a drag of a tobacco product since. It is a matter of mind over matter. It's also the hardest thing that you will ever do. I hate to have to tell you this, but the first two years are not the hardest. You will have the urge for many years, and finally it will not be something that you will want anymore, but hang in there, it is worth it. It's great not being controlled by the worst drug out there. I'll stop here, but could go on. Be strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve

I also have edsets in my fullface and the speakers and mic are great. I have used them all year. They get my recomendation. And Ed was great to deal with. Steve

Well, I do have my own opinion on modulators and it is that it is one of hondas stupid ideas. I'm not saying that it is a popular opinon, but it is mine. I can see how it could be construde as a turn indicator. Steve

Jeff, You and all of your family and friends, and especially your dad is in my thoughts. I am so sad about you loosing your mom! The girl that caused the accident is also in my thoughts. She will live with this forever. Steve

Just got home and read this, I'm very sad to hear of this tradgety. I have never met Gary, but he is in my thoughts at his loss of his wife. I can only hope that all goes well with him. I have to say that an accident like this also affects the girl who hit them. She is also in my thoughts. She will be living with this for the rest of her life. And, as we all know, is also a victim. Like to ask Question on weight
eagleeye replied to JOE MCDERMOTT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I think that the fact that the ventures have a tall center of gravity is a problem, and add to that a passenger makes it all the more complex. Ever since I was a kid, I always liked a very low center of gravity. Starting with my mini bike. My 86 VR has a high center of gravity, which is the main reason I went to a 05 RSTD. It's lower, but now low enough. Maybe I'll even lower the RSTD. When I have had a passenger on the back of my VR, I always had it ready to go before the passenger got on. (and I'm always glad when they got off) Good luck, Steve -
I'm with Thom. Preach to someone who wants to hear it. I'll do what ever I want, and sure as hell don't need a preacher telling me what to do.. Steve

Orrin, This just hit me like a bolt out of the blue--------- I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. You need to buy my 1st generation, it has linked brakes. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf: But seriously, you need to grab a handful of front brake. Steve

Glad to hear that your OK after going down like that. I've used the devcon and cloth also and it works great. Living in Wisconsin, I really don't understand the ski thing though. Steve

Sometime prior to 1975, a guy that I worked with used to ride his automatic honda to work. Seems to me that it was around a 500cc, but don't remember for sure. Steve

Rick, In Wisconsin, on a camper or utility trailer the weight limit is set at 3000 lbs. If the trailer is under that, you don't need plates or registration. I'm an hour away from Janesville if you need anything. Let me know. Steve

Hey Orrin, Glad your'e home recovering. Hope those neighbors don't spoil you. (well, maybe a little ) I'll be out after work. Hope the fish are biting. Steve

Cowboys, that's funny-Everytime I think of the cowboys, I think of the sign on their locker room door--No guns allowed:rotf: they're all a bunch of thugs Steve

I just got a call from Orrin, and he is in the hospital. Fri. night out riding his 05 RSTD with a friend and had to do a fast stop, and it all went bad. He said that his helmet has a big gouge and he's sure that it saved him. He's got a broken collar bone and 3 broken ribs, along with some road rash. He hasn't seen the bike yet. He should be home in a day or two. Steve

Sorry to hear that it happened, but glad you came out of it as good as you did. Steve

In Wisconsin, when you register your bike, and it doesn't matter what state you bought it in, you pay your registration fee plus .055% tax. And it also doesn't matter how many times that bike is bought and sold, same tax % every time. Thats the part that I don't like. My favorite vehicle tax story is about a guy that bought a boat (which I later bought) from a preacher. It ws a 28' boat set up for fishing on Lake Michigan. Well, they agreed on a price and also agreed on the price that would be used for tax purposes. When the state tax people contacted the preacher, he could not tell a lie, and the guy ended up paying the full amount due. Steve

Gear Whine-Final Result-25 percent better.
eagleeye replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Kit, I was trying to think of how to begin. first of all, I have never read posts more interesting and informative than yours on this whine thing. I jsut bought a 2005 RSTD and have put 8 miles on it last weekend, I'll pick it up next weekend. I have heard no whine, BUT--I have one thing going for me, I am quite hard of hearing. I thank the main man for not having to hear all of the bad noises in this world that we live in. (there has got to be something good about getting older There is only 5000mi on this bike, so the oil has been changed once, regular yamaha oil. I have been trying to decide which oil to start using in this bike. With your input, I'm thinking I'll use 20/50 mix of sythetic and 10% lucas addative. Thanks for your input, Steve
