New Owner - Best and most critical mods?
eagleeye replied to jimtxas's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Good question, Problem is that they all cost a lot of money, but my first choice will be the lights up front, Second will probably be Ricks brake mod, Then from there it's all a matter of where you want to spend your money. (or my money, in my case) That 1st gen crap sure gets old. Notice this is a 2nd gen tech forum. That's for sure, and I own one. Steve -
Mikey, I see the seafoam guys are already at it. Your a mechanic, and I'm mechanical. Taking the carbs off and apart, cleaning them is NO BIG DEAL! Just do it and get it over with. When you are done and it's running great, you won't hesitate to do it again. I've done it and wouldn't bat an eye at doing it again. Good Luck, Steve

Just go over to the Harley shop and buy a pair of RK clamps. That is what I did on my 05 RSTD, when I put the RK mufflers on. Steve

that stuff is very cool. If she can make all of the stuff in the pictures, surely she can make one of your bike. What are all of the pieces of made out of? Steve

I just called the post office and the feds get $75, $25 processing fee and another $15 for something, and tomorrow it goes up $3.00. Guess when I ever need one, I'll go and get one. Steve

There is a spot to click if you don't have a code I don't think my coffee maker takes 1500watts. Steve

Man, what do you think one of them would do to your electric bill? I heat my house with a wood stove, and it is very labor intensive, but I do everything that I can to try and cut my electric bill. This fireplace would't help. Steve

Question for those with the Baron's lowering kit
eagleeye replied to WIKD's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Cut it off and weld it back together, it's just a piece of metal. I have a 2005 RSTD and I might just lower it, front and back. I'll ride it for a bit and see how it sits first. Steve -
We had a beautiful sunny day here, in fact I had a guy email me about my venture that's for sale. So I stood out in the driveway and drank some beer and thought about how great it would be to be out riding today. Little too much snow and salt here. Close, but no cigar. Steve

That's one of his low rent buddies sitting in the hot tub ready to blast something / anything that's brown. :rotf: Steve

It's a pretty cool set up alright. These pics have been circulating the net for over a year now, but cool nontheless. Nothing like dropping a big buck from your hot tub. Steve

Getting rid of some items from my '99
eagleeye replied to Squidley's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If the light bar will fit my 05 RSTD I'll take it. Steve -
Well, Don, at least you got in. Frozen doors are the pitfall of winter. When I left work last thurs, the temps were falling and we had wet snow during the day. Doors were tough to get into. A warm garage is a good thing. Right now, 10:45, it's -10, but the good news is that it is supposed to warm up to 0 today. Last night, my small wood stove that I heat the house with couldn't really keep up. Temps dropped to -12, and no sunpower to help. It's starting to warm up in here now. Up to 64 deg. Why am I not excited about that? And tomorrow, another 6" of snow. Yup, it's winter in Wisconsin alright. Steve

What brand of electric gloves did she get you? I'd like to know before I order. Steve

I dream about writing an add like that. It's called artistic license. I did notice that the lights weren't there though. But, ya gotta admit, it's a beautiful bike. Steve

original sales price
eagleeye replied to hipshot's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Hey Hipshot, the cost of the 86 new shouldn't have anything to do with anything. That was 21 years ago. I once sold a harley that cost around 3M new for 10M-The original sold for price is irrelevent. Good luck on that 86! Hey Dan, You should get rid of all those parts bikes and buy my 86. All it needs is a rider. Steve -
Saddletramp, Try Motorcycle Cruiser. I started getting it a few months ago, and sounds like what you are looking for. Steve
