What Trigger really wants: Wide White Wall Tires
eagleeye replied to rjmalizia's topic in Watering Hole
I bought Maxxis Classics for the WWW. I have Avons on my 86VR, but when I went shopping last fall for some WWW for my 05 RSTD, I couldn't find the rear in the correct size, so went with the Maxxis Classics MT90-16H front and 150-15H rear, WWW I have no complaints. Steve -
I really regret not taking the needles to work and taking a pic with the microsope this spring. ror you all to see what this stuff does. You would all be very shocked what this stuff does to your needles. White mountainous build up, but I didn't so don't really expect you to understand. I am really bummed that in my town the only station that had gas without ethenal now has it.:(:( Fully expect to be taking my carbs apart more often now. I am not happy:(:( Steve

I've been gonna say something about lodging but not quite sure what I want to do. I have a room at the Oberlin, that's me and just me, so if someone wants to share, that would be OK with me. Two doubles as I recall If it was one queen, I'd be a bit more picky:rotf: I'll be in on Fri eve. Steve

Todd, I was wondering how your dad was doing. You hadn't said anything lately about his progress. I know fully well how the hospitals can screw up. My dad was in the hospital some time back and the same story, medication amount was wrong. Dropped like a rock in church, and rushed him back in and they altered the meds. OK after that. Glad he is doing better, and very good that he is a strong guy. Best to you and your dad! Steve

Thanks for the replies you guys. And thanks for the compliment Emack. Yesterday after work, I went to the harley shop and bought one of those air pumps, so I'll start by trying 3 in the front and 15 in the back and switch pressures from there. Hey Rogerover, where do you live? I'm in Sauk City. You can look up my cell in my assistance info. Give me a call and we can get together sometime. My ultimate goal is to lower front and rear. I've got a barons kit comming from a member. More about that later. I also have a milling machine in my garage, and it's close to getting hooked up. The very first thing that I'm gonna make is a pair of riser extensions, so I can shove the tubes up about an 1" or so. I'll let you know how that works out. One more thing: Of all of the bikes that I've owned, and there have been a bunch, no bike has put a bigger smile on my face than this RSTD--Man, I love this bike! Thanks, Steve

Painting I don't know about, but fixing the plastic bottom of your trunk I have done. I used devcon epoxy and fiberglass cloth. Spread a layer of devcon over the cracks, then your precut fiberglass cloth, (the shape that you need) and push it in so that the devcon comes up through the cloth. Hard to explain, but the cloth should end up being impregnated with the devcon. (you might need to put a little more on top of the cloth) I used two layers, then, after it dried spray painted (the inside) the trunk black again. If you don't have any fiberglass cloth, I bought way too big of a piece when I did mine and would be glad to send you a nice big chunk. Good Luck, It's kind of a messy opertion but rock solid when your'e done, Steve

Al, Now, that is one inovative idea. I'll have to look into that. I assume that I'll have to chop up my clip on backrest, huh? Thanks, Steve -

Hey Don, Do you acctually go there when it is warm enough to ride there. Or is this just a cold weather thing? If you ever drive there, you should stop on the way. You would have a place to stay for sure. Steve

I'd guarentee you I'd hold my breath. Heights are not my favorite thing to do. The edge of the cliff is not where I want to be. Cool 86er, Steve

I've got a couple of thoughts, first, I'll be there fri evening and will be glad to be of any help, but havings said that, have never roasted a pig. One other thought, is to hire a local person to be totally in charge of getting, preparing, and roasting the pig. There is no doubt that we would all to glad chip in a pay for this. Don, you only can do so much and it might just be better if this is not on your list of responsiblilties. Steve

How much air pressure do you guys run in the forks when you run solo on a RSTD? On my 86 VR, I found that no air worked best for me. (front end) If I decide to do the same on the RSTD, I plan on taking the air valves off so I can raise the tubes up 1" to lower the front end. That is why I am asking. As far as pressure in the rear, I have no idea what to run in this bike. Thanks, Steve

'Supersport' motorcyclists have highest death rate
eagleeye replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
Geez Bill, I couldn't have said it better. When I was a kid, I had the fastest bike on the road, and LOVED it! Why would we expect the kids today to be any different. The only thing that bugs me is that I DON'T HAVE ONE! Enough of this stuff. Ride on, Steve -
Baron Performance front lowering kit
eagleeye replied to chachi's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
In doing a search, I see that no-one has answered you. I plan on lowering the front of my 05 RSTD, and in my opinion, it is simply too much money for me. If you don't have a probem with that, you'll have to let us know how you like it. Steve -
